  2. More people should have your positive attitude. You have problems with gluten like have have but I continue to back up our spectic tank. Seem like I don't process fats which creates a crust on the top of the tank. Solution my husband pulls the top takes a rake and steers the SH_______! We can only laugh a make the best of things. Love your outlook on Celiacs. Have a nice fresh soft piece of bread for me. Oh it needs to be warm fresh from the oven.
  3. I have been on Entocort for the last 2 years. Every time I try to go off it I am back to square one. I do follow a strict celiacs diet. The Dr. at Mayo said that I would be on it the rest of my life but would be able to get down to tow tablets a day. The Dr. also has me open the tablets twice a day and chew the grandulars.
  4. It took about two months before I could see a difference. I finally had BM's that were somewhat mushy and solid and then when I was doing actual formed floaters I called my husband at work and told him we were going to celebrate that evening. I had lost over 100lbs in a year and was malnourished. It's not been easy for the last two years and there are days that I just don't want to deal with it but know I have to. I started in Dec. of 2005 with what I thought was the flu and intestinal problems. Had a colonoscopy and was told I had colitis. Things got worse and found a new Dr. in Feb. of 2006. It wasn't until Sept of that year that I ended in the hospital and they told me I had celiacs. Started on the diet and things grew even worse and in Jan of this year was sent to Mayo and saw Dr. Murry and he put me on the entocort. I have put on 20 lbs. and they would like me to put on more but without all the sweets and breads the weight stays about the same. I am now doing sinkers which was another day to celebrate and now just wish I could get back my engery. Some days it is there and some not. Thanks for your interest.
  5. I have been on steroids for the last year Entocort. When I went to Mayo last Jan. Dr. Murry told me to take three. one in the morning and open it up and chew the insides,one at lunch and eat the insides and then one in the evening and take it whole. Had been on them for the year before and they really didn't do much good until I started to take them the way Dr. Murry told me to. Things are back to normal as normal as can be with being a celiac.
  6. why not come south a bit towards Atlanta. There are not any good bakerys ine the area. Would give anything to have a good slice of bread or bakery items
  7. Things do better. It takes everyone a different amount of time to start feeling better. I was on the diet for six months and still losing weight and had to go to May to get results. I just had an unusal form of celiacs. I have heard that it takes any where from a couple of weeks to a month to start to feel better. Everyone is different. If you search this web site they will have lists of safe foods that you can eat. Also stick to the basic food groups of meat,rice or potatoes,and fresh veggies. Give it a few days and you WILL start to feel better.
  8. I have been gluten free since Jan 06. I agree that it is not as bad as people make it out to be. We have gone back to the basic foods and are a lot healthier in doing so. I lost over 100 pounds and had to go to Mayo Clinic in order to get my system on the right path. It too alot more than just th e diet.

  10. I too was just diagonised on the 2nd of Oct. Has been a really rough month getting use to the diet with no improvement. Was back to the Dr. today and even with a positive bisopy he thnks there may be something else going on. Also did some research and found the protonics i'm on is not gluten free and maybe that is part of the problem. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions. Am open to any help I can get right now.
