  1. I saw it and thought it was just ok. :( I wish that they could have done a WHOLE show on Celiac, just like they did for Depression! I think Celiac deserves it :)

But they were supposed to have a section on their website about the products they showed and whatnot...but I can't find it. Does anyone have a link to it?

  2. I was perscribed Zelnorm in October of 2004, in the beginning I took two a day for a good year or so, but I weaned myself down to one a day.

Last year I thought about trying life without it, and I quit cold turkey, only to get some intestinal/bowel problems, feeling like I had to go all the time, but nothing was there. A few weeks ago I thought I would take it every other day, and I got some more intestinal/bowel problems, some diarrhea and some constipation.

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have stopped taking it and if anything has happened because of it.

Thank you for reading my questions.

    Oh gosh...Zelnorm...ugh.

I took Zelnorm for about a year, and honestly it only worked for me for about 2 weeks out of that year. It was terrible.

Finally I discovered oxygenated magnesium though, and it literally saved my life. I take it everyday and usually go everyday after taking it. The great thing about it is that you can adjust your dosage according to the issues of the moment (constipation, diarreah, etc.). The kind that I have is called "Oxymag"....but Im sure other brands and types work as well. So it's oxygenated magnesium, and you have to make sure you get capsules that are covered you know, not those kinds that can practically melt in your mouth...or else it will dissolve in your stomach and wont get to your bowels. Well, I hope this was somewhat helpful...

  3. With a few friends im finally venturing out of the house for my 18th birthday :) I'm going to go see the Beach Blanket Babylon in the North Beach area of San Francisco, and I'd really love to actually have what seems like a *normal* birthday and go out to a restaraunt. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've looked high and low and all i've found was Pasta Pomodoro and North Beach Sushi, and it looks like they might have *something* that's gluten free, but I really don't know. Anyone know of ANYTHING?

  4. Aww that's so awesome!! That's going to be fun!

I wish I could get a job, but being allergic to gluten, dairy, eggs and sensitive to oils...I dont know how getting a job would work for me :( LoL I would starve!

That's so awesome though. Do you think you'll be able to actually eat some of what you're selling? LoL. Even if you can't, that sounds like a fun job!

  5. Breads from Anna is awesome!!! Her specialty breads (like the banana bread, pumpkin, etc.) can be made in the oven. The regular breads that you would use for a sandwich (like the one in the green bag), she recommends making in the bread machine.

I've never tried the other products you asked about. I hear the Dietery Specialties blueberry muffin mix is good; but again, never tried it for myself.

    Definately order the Anna's though!

Okay great! Thank you! Do you know if you can make it with water and egg replacer? Does it call for milk or milk substitute or anything like that? I don't think their website says anything about the exact ingredients and cooking method :(

  6. The only problem with ordering offline is that I can't sit and read the package! So I was wondering if any of you have tried these products...

Breads From Anna Mix 2 (Green Bag)- How do you prepare it? I wish it said online exactly what ingredients the bread calls for, since I have such terrible food allergies I'd like to know if the bread is even a possibility for me to bake, or make in my bread machine...

Craving's Place Pancake Mix- Can ya make em with water? I'm allergic to eggs and practically everything else that's yummy in pankcakes...I was just wondering if maybe this mix was a possibility for me.

Really Great Food's Muffin Mixes- How do ya make these? What do they call for?

Goodness, multiple food allergies can be such a pain. Anyone have any Nut free, Dairy free, gluten free, egg free, food suggestions?

  7. hi, i use gluten solutions

also for the best cake mixes, the yellow cake mix, the choc cake mix, bananna bread mix..actually i have never had a bad cake mix from this company

    Open Original Shared Link

and Open Original Shared Link for bread, i think they charge a flat rate of 10$ for shipping, try the choc or vanilla sandwich cookies and the cinnamon donuts my kids love them

    jena

I was thinking of trying out Really Great Food's muffin mix, have you ever tried it? I'm only hesitant to buy it because it doesnt give the instructions on how to bake them on the website, so I was wondering if you can make them with things like egg replacers, water (instead of milk) and things like that...

  8. I totally know what you mean. I don't ever go out with friends unless its sushi. I am always so worried about it. And I don't know how to meet celiac guys so I am always wondering if I will meet them if I go to GIG meetings. UGH! Why does it have to be so socially awkward?

Haha funny that you mention GIG meetings...because that's the only way I think I'll meet any guys too! LoL. Sadly, I even looked it up and there are no support groups or meetings in my area :( At least I dont think there is...

  9. Aww im sorry that you guys have reacted before to Pamela's cookies.

I've been gluten free for about 3 and a half months now and I hadn't EVER slipped up and had a reaction before, but recently I just started trying to bake and I'm starting to have my gluten symptoms again. I just so happen to be baking with Pamela's bread mix. Has anyone ever reacted to that? How about Ener-g's egg replacers? Hmm. I'd love to find the source of my issues because im getting tired of feeling like i've been eating buckets of gluten :(

  10. yah i have been playing for long time on city teams, and i am on the highschool team. i play forward and some times center mid. i love playing it just so fun

I know :) I love running. That's why I love playing midfielder. You don't really have to ever sprint, but you're constantly running the whole time. I love it. How old are you? I'm graduating this year so I have to decide if I want to play in college or not. I don't think I want to play on a competitive team...if I'm healthy enough to play, maybe i'll join a team that's just for fun.

  11. Hey Just wondering if there were any teen guys here that have celiacs. I think that is the hardest part about Celiacs. If a guy wants to take you out its is hard and you have to go through this big ordeal at the resturant trying to decide what to eat. Its embarrasing. I mean theyare always understanding but still it would be cool to meet a guy who knows whatI am going through and we could annoy the waiter together.

I totally know how you feel! I don't date at all anymore because I feel so stupid...I actually don't even go to restaraunts anymore at all. Other teens just aren't that understanding, even my closest friends :( The only time I ever get anything from a restaraunt is when my family orders sushi and picks it up and brings it home. LoL.

  12. 1. YES YES YES! It'd be great if you didn't have to add any milk products or eggs to it, and if it didn't already contain any! It'd be so convenient (not to mention tasty) to be able to just pop them into the oven, no mixing or anything!

    2. Probably bread and rolls.

    3. I'm a big fan of incorporating a bean flour with another flour to add protein and fiber. you could mix a bean flour with a rice flour and that'd be perfect.

    4. As long as you were careful, I wouldn't see it as being a problem. You have to understand that you have to be REALLY careful though. Otherwise you'd have some sick customers!

    5. That's correct. Probably Whole Foods :)

  13. I am a soccer player too! i love it. did you play on any teams. i hope you can get better soon so you can play again :)

Yea I had been playing on teams since I was 5 years old :) I played on our high school team actually, and we won the championship! It was so much fun. How about you, do you play for your school? What position do you play? I played left midfielder, and when I was a little younger I played some goalie. :) :)

  14. Just to let you all know, Pamela's bread mix is AMAZING when you use the "egg replacer" recipe and bake it in the oven...YUM.

But I was wondering, does anyone have any bread machine recipes or know of any mixes that work with egg replacer inside the BREAD MACHINE? how about with egg whites?

Or does anyone have any muffin recipe or mix suggestions that involve egg replacer or egg whites?

I can't really use any dairy either (and not a big fan of the substitutes)...got any recipes that use water?

  15. With all my allergies my diet is even more limited (as if gluten wasn't enough!)

I need meat for breakfast or I feel hungry all day. I normally eat bacon and a fruit smoothie. I thought eating bacon every day would make my cholesterol high, but I was checked last week and it was only 120 (total cholesterol). When I was a vegetarian it was 225. I guess being "unhealthy" works for me. lol

I'm horribly limited with all my allergies too, I feel your pain :(

I understand the whole protein thing, but unfortunately the only meat source of protein that my body can tolerate is chicken, and to me that sounds icky in the morning. LoL. My body can't handle eggs either.

So every morning I have 2 bowls of rice crunch ems and an orange. I eat a ton of fruit for the fiber. Have you ever tried filling up on fiber?

  16. IT DIDNT WORK :(

It came out too doughy and not cooked all the way through :( It smelled so good though...what torture :( ugh.

Any suggestions or advice? I put it in the bread machine and it was in there for 2 hours and 15 minutes on the white bread setting I believe...

how dissapointing. I was so excited about the idea of possibly having toast...or a SANDWICH!

  17. I was reading one of my recipes and they just sub. 1/4 of unsweetened applesauce for 1/4 of oil, so I assume that for your bread recipe you can do the same thing.

Thanks for your replies everyone! I ended up using the "egg free" recipe on the bag, and substituting the oil for 1/4 cup applesauce. It was my very first attempt at the bread machine and bread in general, so Im really excited to go test it out for breakfast! I'll let you all know how it goes.

What else do you guys make with that bread mix? Does anyone make muffins, hamurger buns? Got any recipes?

I'm totally open to ANY bread machine recipes because now that i've got it, im so excited to use it :)
