ANYONE have any good bread recipes for my new bread machine? LoL im starting to doubt that i'll ever be able to have a sandwich again! Haha but anyways...I was just wondering if you guys had any healthy, successful recipes...and if by chance anyone had any that didn't involve any oil? And can you use water instead of milks?
I'd just like some bread machine advice since im a newbie to this
Thanks!

I'm currently looking for a sandwich bread too...preferibly one lower in fat since I can't tolerate oils and butters all that well (I know most bread have it, I'd just like to find a bread that isn't loaded with it). Anyone have any suggestions? I think im buying a bread machine soon, so maybe some of you have some recipes?
The ONLY bread that I'm having right now is Food For Life's frozen fruit juice sweetened millet bread. It's good, but you cant do much with it because you kinda have to soak it in water, then stick it in the oven. definitely NOT sandwich bread. LoL.

i don't know if you can find a bread that doesnt have some sort of oil or fat in it, thats just on of the ingredients used in bread. but i second kinnickinnick its amazing, also try food for life its good too.
Thanks for the kinnickinnick reccomendations.
Anyone have any other reccomendations? online sources, brands, stores?
I know I can't get away from the fats and the oils. I'm just going to have to be brave and cross my fingers with that one. LoL. So obviously I'm going to end up buying a bread with *some* in it...I would just like to find one with as little as possible.

I bet I beat everyone on weird cravings and addictions! LoL...well, I totally understand how it feels to be limited on food, because I basically eat the same thing everyday...and because of that...im ADDICTED to japanese sweet potatoes! I get them weekly at whole foods and have to have one EVERY day...and when whole foods are out of them, I search all the health food stores in the county for them! LoL...they're amazing. Everyone should try them. NOT orange stringy yams...i dont like those really...they're JAPANESE sweet potatoes...yellow and creamy on the inside...YUM!
I like bananas too, but I can't have them because Im pretty sure they stop me up
I'm kinda addicted to oranges though
2 a day. And 2 apples a day

I've been looking for some low fat (I cant tolerate oil all that well, that's why low fat is a better option) bread and I can't find ANY in the stores so I'm trying to find online gluten-free stores, or stores that sell gluten free products online. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey Everyone...
Remember me? Haha. Sorry I haven't been by much. I've just been having a rough time lately.
I've just been thinking about you guys a lot and I've really been wondering how all of you are. How are you all feeling? I need some updates! Anyone have any new developments or discoveries? I'm sure I missed some great topics of conversation. LoL. Everyone who is going through BioSET...how's that going? Well, I hope everyone is well.
All my love.

I was wondering the same thing because I actually LIVE there! I know there are some great sushi restaraunts in San Francisco that are gluten free, and I know of some "natural" or "vegan" restaraunts in Santa Cruz. But I was wondering the same thing...anyone know of the actual names of restaraunts? Or where we could search for those names (websites)?

instead of oil and butter, use applesauce in muffins and quick bread. reduce the sugar to half and use something with a lower GI like agave syrup. presto!
Applesauce...that's a great idea! Anyone have any examples of any recipes where they do this?
-
I think that my diet is going to drive me insane. I eat the same EXACT thing everyday and it's killing me. SOOOO I thought maybe some of you might have the same problem, so I figured I'd just ask you guys if you have any recipes that happen to be gluten, oil, butter, and dairy free, plus low in sugar? I know this is a lot to ask. I would just LOVE some bread or muffins or a nice dish of some sort...ANYTHING new really. I'm even open to ideas or suggestions...just ANYTHING. LoL. I'd also love to share recipes with anyone who needs them as well, because I've come up with a few creative dinner dishes with the few ingredients that I can use. I just haven't come up with anything as for snacks or breakfasts or lunches...but ANYWAYS...any input at all is welcome!
-
Wow I would like some information on it as well...do you know what exactly it is? Because I think i may possibly have it...I have this unexplained stomach blockage sort of thing...it's hard to explain and the doctors don't even know what it is or what caused it. Is this a blockage that you are talking about?
-
Oh wow, I should be more careful I guess when trying out Amy's products...
I've tried the Shepard's pie and the mexican tamale pie. The shepard's pie went okay, but I remember having some burning in my throat after the mexican tamale pie. I also use their salsa, and experience the same thing. I always thought that perhaps it was just because they are mildly spicy, but perhaps that is a reaction to gluten? Hmmm...CC is a sneaky thing...

I don't eat fried things because oils and butters make me really sick, but for some reason this post made me really happy. LoL. Probably because I rarely see any restaraunts here in the bay area talk about having "gluten free" things. Does anyone know of anymore bay area restaraunts that do? Any chains? Any healthy restaraunts around here? ANYTHING? lol...I just haven't eaten out in, well, probably 2 years.
-
I'm from California too, the bay area though. I was looking for a support group as well, maybe for teens. You guys probably wouldn't know as much about the bay area though. LoL.
BUT I figured you guys might know about restaraunts...I'm going to L.A. in a few months and I was wondering how to go about finding info about restaraunts in L.A. online. i have HORRIBLE food sensitivities now, but im expecting to be better by then. Does anyone know of any restaraunts that I could go gluten-free in? I heard that L.A. has some great healthy restaraunts but I can't find a thing online!

You can also just cut the soy milk down with a little water so that at the end of the day you're only having 8 oz total. In something like cereal or a shake it might not be noticable taste wise. I used to do this if I wanted to keep the sugars down, sometimes 50/50 and sometimes a little more soy milk to water ratio. It might be a way that you can still have some, but cut it back a little.
Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the input.
Watering it down for my cereal is actually an excellent idea. I think I'll do that.
I was just wondering if anyone had heard anything about the "dangers" of soy. Apparently there are a few articles out there that argue that soy may be heart healthy, but it's dangerous in other aspects. I was just wondering about everyone's take on that.

i have the flattest butt ever, skinny minny arms and a bigger tummy
i like the arms but not the belly
It sounds like i have the EXACT same body shape as you do. I'm kind of discouraged with the arms actually...mine are stick thin and I have to keep them covered
Clothes make me feel so self conscious...the belly looks even bigger because of the arms!
I lift weights but I still can't seem to get ANY muscle mass back in my arms...weight training seems to lift the butt (haha), but my arms won't budge. Anyone else have this problem? How do I get some muscle or some fat back into my arms?

I was wondering the same thing! I've been taking magnesium for quite a while now because it's the ONLY thing that works for me. And i mean ONLY! LoL. Prunes don't work at all for me, but you should try it. I've heard of it working for people. I've also heard that Vitamin C can work for people too. But anyways, I take 1500 mg a day!!! that's a whole lot more than that article up there^^^ says to take!

It used to be worse...but I still kinda look like that
I'm super underweight, but sometimes I get so bloated I look a tad bit pregnant. Then when I wasn't working out, that was EXACTLY what my butt looked like (I hate to admit it, lol).
How do you guys deal with this???
-
I'm hoping that in 4 or 5 months I'll be doing better, so I want to start planning a trip now for the summer...because I want to be NORMAL. haha. I have a ton of food allergies but I'm hoping some will clear up by then, but I'm going to be realistic and say that I'll probably still have to be EXTREMELY careful. How do I go about looking restaraunts online for L.A.? Does anyone know any good websites? The websites probably don't have to be for L.A., im sure they have SOME kind of restaurant search engine or menu search engine out there. I just want to take a look at some menus and see if this is even possible for me....

To respond to the kind people who have commented so far --
I haven't tried magnesium. This is certainly a possible next step if the gluten-free approach doesn't work. Do food sources of magnesium work as well? I would prefer this to a nonfood supplement, because I worry about taking things in isolation instead of in the combination of nutrients and the like present in real food.
We have a lot of similarities. I took all the fat out of my diet too, AND I hate taking supplements. I'd rather get nutrients through food. But I found that without oil in my diet, and with the constipation problems that i have, i HAVE to take magnesium pills. But I guess you could also buy the powder form and sprinkle it on your food, or break the pills open. that's a possibility.
Have you found any information on what a fatless diet does to your body? I've always wondered what my nonfat diet is doing to me. LoL.
-
I have pretty bad constipation issues too, so I feel your pain
Going gluten free helped me to be a little more regular...but I still have some constipation issues. I suppose mine might be from other food sensitivities and allergies though. Magnesium helps me a TON though. It's the ONLY thing that has EVER EVER gotten my bowels moving. They dont really move much without it. I suggest magnesium citramate in capsule form. Tried it yet?

Hey Peace....I guess you're now "formally" a resident!
Yeah....in Rachelville you get to pick your job.....whatever you wanna be...its yours. Oh....and in Rachelville we're not really sick.
We get to eat whatever we want....'cept gluten of course.
We grow everything ourselves so we dont worry about pesticides or antibiotics in our dairy products or Auxigro in our veggies. So yeah....we get to eat more stuff.
OMG....you have to go to a game!! Last year I was lucky enough to go to opening day....I LOVED it! I've been to lots of games at the new park but that was my first time going to opening day. Maybe this season you can catch a game with one of your friends??
Last time I brought my own food.
I always bring my own when I venture out of Rachelville.
Yay! Rachelville sounds like HEAVENville. LoL. Hmmm...I get to pick my own job you say? Welllll...perhaps I could be....hmmm...Rachelville's litter police? Absolutely no littering in Rachelville. Rachelville is nearly perfect, so it must be spic and span! *17 year old hippie here*
I know...I've been DYING to go to a giants game. But Im so sad...no more JT Snow
He was my absolute favorite.
I always bring my food everywhere too! Most of my stuff has to be cooked so im always bringing the same thing with me...people think that gluten free turkey slices and rice cakes are all I ever eat!
Pamela's Bread Mix

I just bought a bread machine, and I also just bought a nice bag of Pamela's baking/bread mix
I was wondering if anyone has used her bread mix before, and if you guys have any recipes?
I was also wondering if anyone has ever replaced oil with applesauce in a bread recipe. I'm thinking of doing this, but I don't know how much applesauce to use in place up 1/4 cup oil.
Thanks everyone!
