  1. Dear peacenlove_girl17,

I am surprised I survived those pills! LOL! I do not have a clue what to do with the bloating issue. No matter what, it seems to be awful. I tried giving up diet soda ( I only used to drink one daily) but that did not make a difference. I am like you, I just wear baggy clothes. Everything feels so tight! It is so uncomfortable! I feel like someone took an airhose, stuck it up my butt, and inflated me! (Feel free to laugh.) Of course, it would help if I did not have a period all the time, off and on, every freakin' day! Doing Pilates a few days a week does help, though. I have been so sick lately, I just have not been able to do it. I barely have to energy to brush my teeth. Doing the dishes is a herculean effort much of the time. I know eating foods like asparagus and cucumber can help the bloat. That yeast controlling diet is something I will have to ease into. Do you really have to give up coffee? It is like my best friend. Without it, I am useless. I have decreased my sugar intake, though. The next few days will be hard, because of all the rain. I hurt so bad and just want to curl up in a ball and not move. I force myself to, though. If you give in to the Fibromyalgia, it only gets worse.

    Sincerely,

    NoGluGirl

Oh gosh, i haven't had a soda in....hmmm....2 years? EVERYTHING i eat is organic, plus NOTHING I eat has ANY refined sugar. That helps with the bloating a bit. I just can't seem to stop eating fruit. LoL. Natural sugars cause bloating too when you have yeast problems...and i Know i for sure do! HAHAHAHA I love the "hose in the butt" analogy. That's EXACTLY what it feels like. It's just so akward because im underweight and my clothes are so baggy...I have that mary-kate olsen look goin on! Not-so-cute. LoL. Well hang in there ok?? I hope you get the energy to do pilates again soon! I know walking on my treadmill sometimes helps. Do you think doing crunches would help us? I want my stomach to be flat againnnnn stop the bloatinggggg....

  2. I was SOO excited when I saw this thread! I've been posting on the "OMG" thread for what...maybe 2 or 3 weeks now? I'm not sure. So I considered myself a new resident :) So I'll fill out an application...

Are you gluten free? Why of course! I am also free of many other foods, just like Rachel :) Because we're allergic to...well...everything. But it's a good thing. Because one day we'll end up being the healthiest people ON THE EARTH!

Do you promise to never infiltrate Rachelville with gluteney foods? Of course I promise!

Do you promise to never bring gigantic Auxigro ridden produce into R-Ville? I goodness, I wouldn't even think of it!

    Hmm...since I've hung around Rachelville for a while now....may I have a job?

    que interestante................

I am rooting for the giants with all my heart, i am a MAJOR giants fan....... like really really obsesed, but I cant watch the game tonight (or most of it) cause it is one of my really good friends Indina singing and Dance preformance and she has been working for like 10 years on this so it is really important.

YAY! It looks like maybe there's another teen in Rachelville? LoL. I'm 17 years old. And also a HUGE giants fan :) It's weird though, my friends and I all live SO close to the stadium, and they've all been to like a million bazillion games and I've never been :(

  3. Hey everyone, hope everyone is doing well today.

I dont think anyone is on flagyl right now....but I think a few of us have had the unlucky experience of being on that HEINOUS drug. Flagyl sucks!!

Peace.....what were you on the flagyl for?? I bet you had a really bad herx....flagyl is sometimes used to kill Lyme. 10 days in the hospital....wow....you've been through alot. :(

I havent had to be hospitilized throughout this whole thing.

I think they just never took me serious and thought it was all psychological.

Flagyl DID suck...it sounds like you had a tough time on it too :( Congrats on getting through it though!!! I didn't make it through the whole amount of time that I was supposed to take it. Yea, it landed me in the hospital for 10 days and yea I have been through a lot, but I think EVERYONE posting on this forum has been through a lot. I just get sad when I think about it because you all seem like such GREAT people...you're all so caring and compassionate...why do bad things have to happen to such good people? Bummer. :(

And yea...was that Kaiser that you were referring to? They kept trying to tell my parents that I had a "psychological fear of foods that make people go to the bathroom". I was like YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME...like seriously...is that a joke? Because that's the most ridiculous thing that i've ever heard a group of doctors say!! Thank goodness for alternative medicine.

OH, and to answer your question...I was taking Flagyl for the Babesia, and my homeopathic doctor though it might also go after some of the other parasites I have.

I had this too. My eye symptoms were the worst symptoms I've had to deal with this whole 4 years. My eyes hurt really bad during the first year....intense pressure and unbelievable pain. I cant even describe it but I hope I never experience anything like it ever again. I had to wear a bandana over my eyes too...because I got extremely sensitive to light. It was very painful. :(

I'm sorry that you're eyes cause you so much pain, but it's kind of a relief that it's happened to other people too because I thought that I was going crazy! I actually thought that I was going to be blind...because I was kind of like...seriously...you never know what's going to happen next with me. LoL.

    Dear peacenlove_girl17,

Thank you for the good thoughts. I took it back in I think early November, and I have been sicker again since. Wow, it made you very ill too! I had to dope myself up on promethazine just to finish the course of those pills. I could hardly stand it. Now it has set off a whole other set of things. I was doing so much better up until that point! Flagyl is a very brutal drug on your body. The bloating in the lower abdomen is a major frustration, too. I get it right below my bellybutton too! It just never goes away!

    Sincerely,

    NoGluGirl

Aww well NoGluGirl, congrats on making it through the Flagyl. And I totally feel your pain on the whole bloating-below-the-bellybutton thing! How do you deal with it? I feel like it's so unnatractive, not to mention uncomfortable...I always want to wear clothes that hide it! I know it must be related to what im eating...i just dont know how to fix it.

  4. OMG...yeah...my face is still not totally bloat-free. Noone can tell except me but if I put two pictures next to each other you can see the difference. My face is "bigger" now. Thats the only way I can get people to *see* it....with pictures....but I can *feel* it. When my face was really bloated it was actually painful...its not just typical bloating because I actually get tissue swelling all over my head...its from all the allergies I have.

    Stupid Candida.

same here!!! hmm...you had pain in your face when it was bloated? Wow...i've only had that in my stomach. I'm sorry to hear that you had that same feeling in your face, that's torture! I hope that doesn't happen to you anymore. I think it's all of my allergies that's causing my face to bloat too...even though my diet is SO strict. It's like you said...we're allergic to EVERYTHING. THe only time I didn't have bloating in my face was when I practically stopped eating, but then I ended up at 80 something pounds and in the hospital, and we can't have that! LoL. But I also have this weird bloating usually right below my bellybutton...ugh. It's so unnatractive with the stick thin arms...

Peace....I'm feeling pretty good for someone who's allergic to *everything*. :D

I'm gonna start on Nystatin this weekend so I think I might go through some die-off. I hope you're feeling better??

I'm glad you're feeling good! Yea I'm going through the die-off right now too...not all that much fun...but at least you'll be able to complain to people that actually know how you feel!

Sorry you're still feeling bad. I get the eye thing...they don't really twitch so much when I'm herxing (they do at other times though), but they hurt in their sockets. I also often feel nauseated, which is why I thought I've been herxing for the last 2 days or so.

Good, now that's two people that have said that they have weird eye things going on too...im NOT going crazy, yay! LoL. Yea it actually does hurt me too...it feels kind of like...a heavy pressure?

Aww I hope you stop herxing soon then :(

Hi Everyone! I had to skip a few pages of everyones posts, but I think I got the gist of what's going on. Donna, Peace, and Laura, I hope you are all feeling better!

In my last episode of "The BioSET Files", Dr. F cleared me for gluten (again) and dairy (1st time). Last night's BioSET episode found that I did not clear for the gluten and I did clear for the dairy :o !

Thank you :) And congrats on the dairy. I've been cleared multiple times for dairy because my allergy keeps coming back (due to the parasites, says my BioSET lady). So the only "safe" dairy product that I seem to be able to eat is this nonfat fruit juice sweetened organic yogurt that I found at whole foods. I would look for it if you're looking for something to start off with. I've found that I can only eat it occasionally though.

I noticed someone mentioned flagyl...ugh. When I started taking it, I ended up so sick that I couldn't finish it and I had to stay in the hospital for 10 days :( So whoever is taking it...my heart goes out to you.

  5. Carla- Thank GOODNESS someone else has experienced the eye twitching! LoL I thought I was going CRAZY!

Rachel- That kind of happened to me too! Right around the time I started to get really really sick..I bloated like a balloon even though I was barely eating anything anymore. My face was the worst...anyone experience that not-so-attractive fact bloat? LoL. But then I had that same drastic drop too! I dropped to 83 at 5'7. That wasn't too attractive either. LoL. But as I gain back I still get that horrible "7 months pregnant" belly at night. LoL. Also not that cute.

  6. I just thought i'd post and be the oddball here...LoL...im on a "weight GAIN" diet...and i have a TON of food allergies...so this is quite interesting :)

Breakfast- 2 bowls of fruit juice sweetened cornflakes and a fresh orange

Lunch- 2 slices of turkey, 2 lundberg rice cakes, a fresh appple

Lunch 2- kidney beans with canned tomatoes, broccoli and green beans

    Snack 1-another fresh orange

Snack 2- protein shake (1 cup strawberries, 1 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup egg whites, 1/2 cup soy yogurt)

Dinner 1- Tinkyada rice pasta with tomato sauce, zuchhini, half of an eggplant

    Dinner 2- a sweet potato

Dessert- 3 pieces of gluten free bread (Food for life fruit juice sweetened Millet bread)

I actually "came up short" today on calories according to my doctors. I couldn't stuff down breakfast 2, which is usually another apple and a bowl of "Rice and Shine" arrowhead hot rice cereal.

Hope you all enjoyed your meals today :)

  7. Hi Everyone. I wish I felt good enough to read everything I missed and to catch up. What's new with everyone, any new discoveries or happenings?

I hope everyone is feeling and doing well. How are all of you? Have you stopped herxing Carla?

I've been herxing for about 4 days now and feel horrible. Does anyone ever vomit when they are herxing? Icky questions, I know. But sometimes I feel like it's going to happen. I also have this weird thing where I get these headaches and my eye twitches REALLY bad. It's more like an eye spasm. LoL. It's the weirdest thing ever. Anyone ever get that?

Well, anyways....i hope all is well.

    <3

  8. Yeah...drink LOTS of water!!! And REST!! I'm serious about the water....it will help the body excrete those toxins...VERY important!

If the herxing persists you may need to decrease your dose a bit.

I got a major herx from Grapefruit seed extract for candida a long time ago. It was HEINOUS!

I started back on it today....I asked the BioSET lady and she said to get on it.....it's really good for candida. I told her last time I started with 10 drops and she couldnt believe I did that....she said I could probably only tolerate 3 or 4 drops at the most....but I have to start with one drop.

Last time I was just anxious to kill the yeast so I think I took 10 drops twice in one day....so like 40 drops in two days! :o

Then I herxed big time and havent touched the GSE since....until today.

Does anyone know if supplements go bad?? The GSE was from like a year and a half ago. It has an exp. date on it which isnt until 2008....so is it ok....even though I opened it a long time ago?? The drops are sooo thick....is GSE suppossed to be thick?? It was like that when I first bought it.

She said she'll have me switch to maybe caprylic acid after a month on GSE. You gotta rotate natural antifunglas so that the yeast or other stuff dont get resistant to it.

Thanks for the advice. I've had 7 water bottles (17 oz water bottles) so far today and I think I'll be able to fit in one more.

Oh my gosh, how ironic! I did the same thing with the grapfruit seed extract!!! I'm on it right now, and I'm only at 5 drops a day (in a couple of days I'm supposed to go up to 7, but I'm nervous)...but a while back I was on it, and I got a little too anxious too and I took 12 drops in one sitting. The next morning I had horrible D. I couldn't stop going! LoL. It was kind of scary. So now I have the same problem...I'm really nervous to go up to 7!! But then again, I want this horrible Candida monster to GO AWAY. Maybe then I'll stop bloating like a balloon.

Have you guys done the Candida spit test? Wow...that was QUITE an experience. INTERESTING.

  9. Really?? Did you get worse results? I didnt think I did well at all.....those are all the foods I reacted to in my initial testing but I havent got treated yet. It looks like spices might be my next treatment. Not very exciting. <_<

Yea out of all the food groups there were only 9 items that I didn't react to. But that's not including spices or food additives. My goodness, those lists are long! I didn't want my bioSET lady to even bother with most of the additives because nearly everything I eat is all natural but she attempted to clear those anyway.

I think I'm herxing from the artemisia I started. I feel awful ... at least I know it's working.

Aww I'm sorry Carla :( I think I'm herxing for the first time too. I've been on Artemisian for over a month and never herxed, and I was kind of nervous because I wasn't sure if it was working...but then when I added the catnip that's supposed to finish off the babesia. I upped the dosage just four days ago to two pills and I think i'm herxing for the first time ever today. I'm not sure though...but I feel like my food is going to come right back up everytime I eat, and the feeling lasts for about 2 or 3 hours...which is tough because I havent to eat every two hours. LoL. Anyone have any herxing advice? I sure hope yours doesn't last long Carla. Feel better soon!!!

  10. Thanks Peace! Wow, sounds like you might be herxing...doesn't sound fun either.

On a different note...I bought some of that Bob's Red Mill Egg white powder I told you about. I blended that with a little water, a bit of frozen peaches (one of my "good" fruits, lol) and a little stevia. It wasn't bad at all! So, if you can't find Jay Robb's stuff, this might work.

Wow that's great to hear! Thanks for letting me know :) I'll definitely go pick some up, because I couldn't find the Jay Robb's stuff :( But hey, sounds like Bob's shtuff works just as well!

Rachel- Wow, it seems like you actually did pretty well on foods!

  11. Donna- I was excited to hear about your appointment! Dont worry about the foods that came up, like avacados and random foods like that. My bioSET lady told me that when you have parasites, bacterias, infections and things like that you start to become sensitive to the foods that you eat all the time. Once those are cleared, the treatment usually sticks for those foods. So you'll probably end up being able to eat your everyday foods again in no time. You just have to be really careful about those sensitivites who's treatments aren't going to stick...like dairy. I was fat intollerant as well, and my treatments don't seem to stick for fats...so i dont eat ANYTHING with fat...which makes me nervous because I know that's not healthy...but my bioSET lady told me that isn't common and treamtents usually stick for fats with most people, so you'll probably be able to eat your fats again soon too :) I'm so glad that it sounds like your appointment went well!

So I think I'm "herxing" for the first time ever today...it's been about a month or so since I've been on the supplements and I upped the dosage for the first time 4 days ago. I've felt like I'm going to gag and vomit for about a day and a half now...and it's so difficult to eat. I thought at first that maybe I had just eaten something wrong, but it feels different. I think it's die off symptoms?

  12. Wow, you all have been busy here!!

Peace, amenorrhea (lack of periods) is common in someone who's lost a lot of weight. At your height, you still are underweight, so it could be caused by your weight being low. Estrogen is fat soluble, so if you don't have enough body fat (or have too much) you can stop having periods.

Thanks to EVERYONE who responded to my question :) Haha I know someone mentioned menopause...but I'm only 17. If that is indeed what is really happening, then I've REALLY got some problems! But I think Carla, and everyone else who talked about weight loss is right. I looked up some height and weight charts (which left me confused because they all had conflicting information) and I am still underweight for my height (105 pounds, 5'7) so hopefully as a little more weight comes my period will too. Anyone wanna guess what weight I have to get to, to get it back?

You guys are like my gluten-free, health moms :)

And Rachel- I say go for it on the oats! My only advice is to have her keep checking them though everytime you go. My bioSET lady says that you can become sensitive to the foods that you eat too often, especially if they exist in a category that contains other foods that you are sensitive to. So when we have a little extra time on some days or if I have a little extra room considering what my body can handle, my BioSET lady checks the common foods that I eat everyday.

  13. haha thank you so much to EVERYONE who replied to this question! You all are awesome food detectives. LoL. I found out so much just through asking a question about sushi rice. But anyways, I have a second question that maybe one of you could answer...the internet seems to be giving me conflicting info on this, but since you guys seem to be good at looking things up I thought I'd ask....how many calories do you think a vegetarian roll has? A whole roll where I get it isn't small, and it's 6 pieces. The vegetables vary sometimes but usually it's a japanese pickle, cucumber, a mushroom....and of course NOTHING fried.

  14. Why do I think tonight is going to be very slow, lol.

I'm excited for you too Donna and I can't wait to here how it goes :)

Rachel- I bet our BioSET ladies know eachother! Mine traveled with Ellen Cutler as well, and she's also based out of the bay area (I'm assuming yours is too?). That's funny, and kind of ironic.

So you guys I kind of have a random...and kind of akward question...lol...you guys can pass up the question and ignore it if you don't feel like answering, but I don't know who else to ask.

Did any of you ever lose your period? Mine has been gone for a year and a half. I know that being underweight can cause that, but I just feel like maybe there is more behind it. I mean, I dropped to 87 pounds (I'm 5'7) a while ago but I gained a lot over the past couple of months and now I'm back up to 103...but still no period. If I remember right even, I lost it BEFORE I lost the weight. But anyways...

  15. Yea that sounds about right you guys...haha...I went from going a tiny bit of D just about every time I sat down on the toilet, to one big one in the morning. Except mine isn't hard (haha im so sorry if this is getting gross)...mine's like a pile kind of. I just can't seemed to have a formed BM. But I'll take ANYTHING because I have a constipation issue. It's so painful on the days that I don't go at all. Dionnek, maybe your hard stools are because there's less fiber in your diet now that you're gluten free?

  16. Gosh, I hope you like it after all this, lol. Anyway, I haven't seen Jay Robb at Whole Foods (I keep looking and hoping), but I know they DO sell a Bob's Red Mill egg white powder. I haven't tried that though, so can't say how it is--it isn't where the shakes are though, in my Whole Foods it's by the baking stuff or by the "pancake" mix stuff (they move it once in a while, lol).

haha I'm sure i'll LOVE it...especially after this nasty "nutribiotic rice protein"...haha. I think dirt might even taste good after drinking that shtuff! Bummer that they don't sell it at whole foods though. Can you use the Bob's Red Mill as a protein mix or do you think it's just for baking?

  17. Rachel-

Hmm I think I'll talk to my bioSET lady about all of that next time I see her! That's so interesting. The woman I go to seems to feel that if you feel like that in the treatment room, then your treatment should be done all over again. I'd love to talk to all the different people that practice bioSET and see what each ones' habits and beliefs are. I just find it all so interesting. People always ask me though how it works because NO ONE I talk to believes in it...and I just end up making it worse because I can't really explain it. It's just so cool.

Haha yea I had to re-treat once because I crossed my legs and apparently that's a big no-no!

  18. And, a trick I use if you can do a little fruit, is to use frozen fruit. I buy bags of organic frozen fruit from whole foods and blend it (frozen) with my shake. That makes it a bit thicker, especially if you use slightly less liquid (I can actually get it to a thick milkshake consistency if I want). If you can't do fruit, you can reduce the amount of liquid and use ice cubes instead...you still need some liquid to get it to blend, but the ice helps keep it thicker. Course, if you like it thinner, then you're set, lol.

Good advice, because I actually DO like it thicker...or else it wouldn't remind me of a milkshake, which wouldn't be as worth it....for me at least. LoL. I enjoy the nostalgia. LoL. Too bad I can't get to the store today though before my workout...because now you have me VERY excited to try this shtuff out! LoL. Now I just must figure out what I shall mix up for protein today!

  19. Yep, I'm using one called Ultra Clear that is pretty nasty, lol. It's not bad if I load it up with fruit, but I really shouldn't do that either. I get that one from my doctor.

I can't remember if you can eat eggs? If you can there is one that is made from egg white protein which has a pretty good taste, especially if you can blend it with a half a banana or something. I've ordered it from the website, and I've also seen it in a health food store (although that was in Florida, lol). They also make one with yams or something like that, although I've never tried it. I used my last packet of the egg one or I'd send it over to you...anyway the website is here:

    Open Original Shared Link

At Whole Foods, I've seen a pea protein powder. Um, I don't remember loving that, lol.

[ETA: I've only tried the Vanilla and Chocolate versions of the Jay Robb stuff...haven't tried the unflavored yet.]

YAY that sounds like a winner! I'm definitely going to go to whole foods and see if they have it :) Thanks so much. I've tried making shakes out of the egg whites (liquid) that come in the jars at the store, but it makes a kind of icky, frothy consistancy. So i'll definitely try the egg white powder!

  20. Some treatments have made me feel bad (short term) but most treatments have no noticeable affect on how I feel. If I feel bad its usually that I get really tired, irritable and brain-fogged. I've noticed it most after the treatments for candida and molds and when I got treated for chemicals. I felt fine after the wheat panel I had last night. It might have something to do with how much of this stuff is already in my system?? When I feel bad it usually happens right after the treatment....I can feel it when I'm driving home and sometimes I end up feeling wiped out even though I wasnt tired at all prior to the appt. I also have trouble posting my thoughts after some appts because the brain fog is too bad.

I currently have alot of issues with candida and also chemicals but I've been gluten-free for over a year and a half.....maybe that has something to do with not feeling bad after last nights treatment??

Hi again everyone! I hope everyone is doing well! I've been doing a little better since the first of the year, which I'm taking as a good sign...

but ANYWAYS...Rachel I got a little nervous when you described how you feel after your BioSET treatments. My BioSET lady says that I should actually feel a tiny bit BETTER after the accupressure treatments, not worse. She says if I feel off or worse, that means my body couldn't handle the treatment and we tried to clear too much at once. She says if you feel off like that, then your body might be rejecting the treatment and you'll most likely become re-sensitized. When that happens, she tells me to come straight back (which is a pain because it's a 45 minute drive) and she does the accupressure for a second time and then i have to lay down with the jar for another 15 minutes. Your lady has you lay down, right?

  21. So I'm currently trying to gain weight (taking in 2500 calories a day with multiple food allergies...nearly impossible and quite torturous...) and I'm lifting weights a few times a week, and I try to drink a protein shake right after I workout. I've been drinking the nutribiotic rice protein drink and it's NASTY tasting and I can't stand it anymore. I've tried the Kashi soy protein shake and it's sooo yummy...but there's so many ingredients, I'm bound to be allergic to one (I get a small reaction when I drink it) plus it has a TON of sugar and that's not good for my Candida. So I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should drink after my workouts. I'm looking for something that i don't have to practically gag down...haha...but then again I'm also looking for something that is low in sugar and in ingredients that might spark allergies. Any advice you have is definitely welcome!

  22. Hey I'm 17 and have a BUNCH of food allergies...and I'd love to chat with you...feel free to message me sometime! I'd love to hear your story and what you go through...because it's REALLY tough for me, I'd just love to compare experiences with someone else (that's young)!

  23. what part of the bay area i am from palo alto. you should join the bay area celiac teens support group!

I didn't know there was a bay area support group! I'd love to join! Do they have a website? Oh I'm from a little town about 15 minutes away from San Francisco :)

  24. I just called my niece and she told me it was Kobe steakhouse. They have a website so I just emailed them to see if their rice has gluten ... I'll be sure to get back to you ... I didn't realize it was a chain ... marcia

Gosh, thank you for all of your detective work Marcia! You're so good, and that's so nice of you :)
