  3. Hi Guys! My dentist gave me Patterson Dental Tooth Whitening Gel and GC MI Paste Plus (a prescription anti-sensitivity paste made by Recaldent). I used them both last night and today I had horrible stomach pains, so I'm wondering if the two are related. Have any of you used these products before and do you know if they might have gluten in them? The whitening gel did not have ingredients on the packaging. The ingredients for the GC MI Paste Plus are: Pure water, Glycerol, CPP-ACP, D-Sorbitol, CMC-Na, Propylene glycol, Silicon dioxide, Titanium dioxide, Xylitol, Phosphoric acid, Sodium fluoride, Flavoing, Sodium saccharin, Ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Butyl p-hydroxybenzoate.   4. Hi, My friend gave me a box of M&M's Premiums for my birthday. (They have milk, white, AND dark chocolate inside of them! ) Do any of you know if they are gluten free? The 2 ingredients that I'm not sure about are modified starch and confectionery glaze. Thanks! Laura

  6. Do you like peanut butter? It has a lot of fat in it. I'm trying to gain weight too, so I eat that right out of the jar with a spoon.
  7. I'm willing to admit to my Starbucks addiction... I go there all the time and usually get a vanilla latte with soy milk. I'm very sensitive to gluten and have not noticed any celiac symptoms since they introduced the protein to their menu.

  9. Have you seen the August/September 2008 issue of Living Without magazine? I picked it up at Vitamin Cottage the other day and there's an article in it about a college kid who was diagnosed with celiac disease and his roommate who has diabetes. I don't know if it would help you, but you might want to check it out.
  10. I finally saw it last night and I only have one word for it: CREEPY! It reminded me of these propaganda commercials from the 1950s that my professor once showed us in a college class. I'm hoping that today's television viewers are too media savvy to fall for these.
  11. Wow, I'm really surprised that their mint flavor has gluten in it too. I eat different brands of mint chocolate chip quite a bit... maybe I should check into it a little more. Lame.
  12. You might be right that you've stopped losing weight because of being glutened; I don't know. But I do know that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are building muscle with your new workout program, it is more than likely that you are still shedding fat (and turning it into muscle) even though the scale says you aren't getting any lighter. ...And that's ok because you're body is still getting more toned. Personally, I eat for performance as opposed to weight maintenance: a lot of protein for muscles, fluids for hydration, etc.
  13. I hope they felt REALLY guilty watching you there with only a Coke, because they should have... situations like that are the reason I lost so much weight when I first went gluten free. I used to feel awkward about making my friends and family avoid restaurants that they liked just because I was with them, but then I got over it because they can eat at pizza joints all the time when they're alone; you can't. Next time stick up for yourself with something as simple as "I'm hungry too and there's nothing that I can eat on the menu here, can we please go to ______ instead?" No decent person will respond to that sentence by making you sit there and watch them eat.
  14. Before celiac disease I used to NEVER eat chips -- I didn't even like them very much -- and now I eat them all the time! I'm glad I'm not the only one. ... one more way to rationalize it (although I doubt you need any help, because I never need help rationalizing junk food) is that chips are almost always available in situations where there's nothing to eat but gluten.
