Welcome to the forum, Mandy42!
Your question is one I don't believe I have ever seen on this forum. Most people don't know what the "triggering event" was or when it happened. I assume by "triggering event" you refer to some health stressor that triggers the celiac genes to move from the latent condition to the active condition. It takes most people some time to realize that has happened as most aren't on the lookout for celiac disease and assume their symptoms are due to something else besides celiac disease. Can you confirm what you mean by "triggering event". Can you describe your symptoms?
hi I had a triggering 'stressful' event 5/6 weeks before my celiac blood test came back positive so I think I have worked out that that was the point that my celiac became active. I was eating gluten before my test.

I had no symptoms - my celiac test was done due to what I later found out was another totally separate issue

how long is the shortest amount of time that you can test positive on a blood test for celiac after the 'trigger' event

Do you know of any good/reliable research about the causes of celiac in children? My daughter is positive, but my son has tested negative at the moment so I am keen to find out more about this.
