  1. Laughing, causing coughing, causing head leakage is very therapeutic! Gets it all out!

Was hoping for a few details of Bun's adventure. Like - was it the martial arts guy? A cute guy she met at church? A big strong Yeti?

Em- are there men in that class? My yoga class has wanted to strip down due to heat but we always have a guy in the class. Don't want to burn his eyes!

Martials arts guy was a bust, he dissappeared into the ether some time ago.

It's a friend of mine who's (obviously) now more than a friend. He's a big, burly,

bearded, truck driver. So I guess yeti was pretty close

  2. Wish I could. After the afternoon spent sewing I realize that sewing is not a hobby to take lightly in my future. Really did me in!

That corned beef sounds good! I should have thought of getting one. I may take the easy way out and just pick one up at the store and throw it in the crock pot Sunday.

    :(   *sniff* Ok......

Or I could you know, just make some myself.....

  3. I inherited a new counter in the kitchen. Because it is below the dishes and such that aren't mine, and I am super paranoid, I felt like I needed covers for my appliances before they migrated over. I also wasn't about to spend $50+ on a toaster and mixer cover. Holy crap they're expensive! So, I made my own. This is the fruits of an afternoon of labor.

Super adorable! I'm not sure my MIL was thrilled when I told her they would be giraffe print, but because they are tan and brown they won't show stains much and it seemed practical. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

We're doing encore pork loin for dinner tonight. I think I'll do some roasted asparagus for me and roasted taters for him. I'm beat from hours of sewing and have a thing to go to tonight still.

Do you take orders? Those are super cool!

  4.
here you go, bunz - this is simona's recipe, i thought it was on this forum, but i can't find the link..  i use lactaid for the rice milk, sometimes sub flours, etc and if you omit the sugar, it will be savory.  the batter is pretty forgiving and this summer i am probably going to adjust it ever so slightly to make funnel cakes.  just fry in deeper oil.  (sometimes i feel like a chemist haha)

    My gluten-free crepes (simona)

    2 extra large eggs
    11/2 cup rice milk
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    ½ cup white rice
    ½ cup brown rice
    ½ cup tapioca starch
    Oil for frying.

    Mix everything together.

Heat up a 9" non-stick skillet on medium heat. Pure ½ of teaspoon (size of 1 dollar coin) of oil in middle of pan and spread it little be around the skillet. Pure 1/3 cup of mixture on one side of skillet and with the circular motion spread it around the skillet's bottom. Fry it for proximately 1-1 1/2 minutes, or until you will see pink border. Slowly turn the crepe on other side and fry for 30 seconds. Repeat with every crepe. From this amount you will make 8-9 crepes.

Arlene- I was actually trying to convert Addy's cheese bread to being dairy and egg free,

but thank you for the recipe!

  5. Everyone wanna reason to celebrate? Well, everyone that can tolerate eggs, dairy, and tapioca flour

    that is..... Sorry.

I took Addy's cheese bread and fried it in a pan like crepes. CAN YOU SAY TORTILLAS? For

softer results, use very low heat and cover the pan. For crispy, crunchy, taco-shell-like deliciousness

turn it up a little and fry uncovered. I added salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a little basil (not sure why

just felt right lol) I ate the first few as they came out of the pan... You can make them tiny like an egg or

huge like the size of my big deep-sided fry pan. They turn beautifully once the bottom has crisped up.

Having the last big one I made with sunnyside eggs on it right now. Oh, and I made it with romano

cheese and was far too lazy to mix it up in a blender, I just mixed it in my pyrex glass thing with the

spout with a spoon. I used olive oil spray to grease the pan, no sticking at all in my stainless.

    Addy is my hero.

  6. I am sorry you feel so miserable; but glad the pain left your powers of description unscathed. :)

I think it was not the exercise, but the temperature. Cold, even if you were well-wrapped, is never good for cramps. I am one of the lucky folks for whom the "exercise prescription" worked: I'd do a round of crunches and leg lifts and I'd be as good as new in 5-10 minutes. Maybe it only works with certain types of exercise - and shoveling is not one of them.

    Hope you feel better today.

That may be it- it was about 42-43 degrees, in the sun shoveling I got so warm I had to strip

a few of those layers of wrapping! Clearly, shoveling is not one of the 'recommended exercises'.

I'm pretty sure it's stress that's made the past few months worse. Which is frustrating because

I've kept my diet super-clean, 90% organic, grain-free, sugar-free..... Any you ladies dealt with

super-sucky periods from stress? Any advice?
