  1. @RMJ@Scott Adams@knitty kitty, Thank you for all of your responses, tips, and suggestions. I'm very grateful that this website exists. It makes me feel a lot less alone in my celiac journey! The endocrinologist had me do a neck ultrasound just to be safe. Thankfully, thyroid and lymph nodes came back normal. knitty kitty, my Vitamin D is on the...
  2. Hi there! I know that celiac can present in hundreds of different ways, which is why I’m wondering if anyone else has had these same symptoms. I am a young adult in overall great health. I was diagnosed with celiac in February and have been extremely strict on maintaining a gluten-free diet. Thankfully, my stomach discomfort and other celiac s...
  3. Hi @cristiana, thank you for this video! I've been going largely paleo these last few weeks and have cut out most grains. I also have been sleeping on a more supportive mattress. Thankfully, the weird neuro/arm sensations have stopped. It's crazy how the smallest things can impact the body in major ways!
  4. Yes, it's me again with another question about symptoms! In summary, I was diagnosed with celiac in February of this year. I have not knowingly consumed gluten since day one, except for an accidental bite of normal bread 2 weeks ago, and I was able to spit out the majority of it. I have had all my vitamin tests done with no deficiencies. The only...
  5. @PA Painter - Thank you! I am doing an elimination diet/food journal now and will see how it goes. I'm trying to go paleo and dairy-free for a little while as well to see if that makes a difference. @cristiana - I appreciate your thorough reply! Sorry to hear you've gone through this issue as well. No, I do not recall having whiplash or a neck injury...
  6. Hi Harley, Yes, I had a nutrient panel done recently and B12 along with all the others (iron, calcium, magnesium, k, B6, etc.) were in the normal range. I take a daily multivitamin and drink homemade chicken bone broth almost daily for extra nutrients. I also had a regular set of labwork done and thyroid, kidney, liver function, and glucose were normal...
  7. I was diagnosed with celiac 4 months ago and at the time I was very symptomatic. I am significantly better now, but in the past month or so I noticed weird arm sensations. Sometimes, my arms/hands feel a bit weak, almost like they don't belong to me. I can still use them just fine, though. This happens a few times a week. Back in March, I was extremely...
  8. WOW!!! And I see that the news just came out this month. This might very well have been the culprit! I have not noticed anymore severe flare ups since quitting Aussie Bites. Probably not a coincidence. Thank you @Scott Adamsand @RMJ!
  9. I noticed that the UK healthcare system offers prescription gluten free foods. Is there any benefit like that in the US? I was hard pressed to find anything through an online search. I’m trying to see what benefits or tax breaks I might qualify for in general for celiac disease as I’m a newbie. Any tips would be great. Thanks!
  10. So sorry for the delay. Thank you for the suggestions! After a recent DEXA scan, my bone density is very low for my age and I was referred to an endocrinologist. I just saw her today and she said I have osteomalacia from how long I’ve had undiagnosed celiac. She said I can get back to normal bone density with vitamin d/calcium supplements, a calcium r...
  11. @knitty kitty That’s good to know! My zinc levels were normal, but I’ve been making more of an effort recently to eat more leafy greens so maybe the zinc in them will help. Thank you!
  12. Wow, I can't imagine intentionally eating gluten. I have been through the wringer with severe symptoms and never ever want to touch it again because the consequences are so not worth it.
  13. Thank you so much everyone for all of your advice and support! @knitty kitty, I appreciate the level of detail you provided. Definitely something to keep in mind. It has been so rough and I kept wondering if I'm an outlier in terms of symptom severity. I guess not! @saindonmona, I hope you are feeling better now. My symptoms calmed down later that night...
  14. Wow, your lady is very lucky to have you! After seeing stories about celiac being the cause of some people’s breakups, it is so nice to see something positive like this. Wishing the two of you all the best.
  15. Also, I forgot to ask. What are some methods/celiac friendly meds you’ve used to deal with nausea and heartburn? I’m seeing my doctor soon but wanted to also see what others have been doing to cope. Do any of you struggle with nighttime nausea as well? Mine starts between 1-3 AM and stays until late morning. I’m lucky if I get even 2 hours of sl...
