  1. Well, I wasn't too enthused about the latest special. I wasn't going to order until the next one, but I just experienced the crappiest week ever. So I decided I needed a pick me up (pink ). I placed an order just now, but not enough to get the discount and samples. I think they pushed out the next special until 2/15 because that's when they are going...
  2. We have eaten all the varieties with no problems. They are marked gluten-free right on the bag.
  3. Bean flours can have the same gastrointestinal -ahem- effects as whole beans do. Do you also react when you eat beans in other ways? I seem to be OK with bean flours. I don't have trouble with regular beans. Welcome to the board!
  4. It's already on gluten-free goddess - I checked this morning. I also checked all the big yahoogroups, and it's on there too. Just checked celiacchicks and it's there too. If The gluten free girl will get it on there, it will be sooo great. We can do it! I sent a note to everyone in my address book at home asking people to vote for it, and asking...
  5. The Bob's Red Mill chocolate cake is the best mix we have tried. It really tastes just like gluten cake. I always doctor it up by adding an extra egg and 2 T of cocoa powder. That makes it really rich. It is also widely available (near me anyway) and not too expensive. Our second favorite is the Namaste chocolate cake mix. I always have to bake it longer...
  6. I just voted again, and we are beating pets by 1% now. Pets schmets, I say! They have enough magazines! I have 3 computers (1 at work ad 2 at home) and I am voting on each of them every day until 2/7. I think we can really make this happen! I also just emailed the glutenfreegirl and asked her if she would be willing to put a link on her blog. She gets...
  7. I voted once, then changed clothes and voted again. Do you think they will recognize me? I also posted this over to the celiacforums board. The more votes we can get the better. If anyone can bring gluten-free into the mainstream, the mighty and powerful Martha can do it.
  8. Holy crap THERE'S A NEW SPECIAL!!! ORDER NOW!!!!
  9. Thank you for that clarification about depression and diabetes. I was not aware of that. Looks like we realy need to work on that. If he felt less depressed, he might be more willing to work on changing his diet. He really wants to eat the classic american diet - bread, meat, velveeta cheese, etc. When I was growing up, his favorite food was peanut...
  10. Thanks for the response. You are right, I can't monitor him all the time. But it is so discouraging to see him not feeling well, and not being able to have the life he wants to have. He is not a very adventurous eater and doesn't like to try new things and hates vegetables. It is pretty hard to manage diabetes like that. At least he is checking his blood...
  11. I emailed them on Monday to ask about a return I made, and also ask when the next special would be out. They answered the question about the return, but made no mention of the special. I can sort of understand why they are not saying when they will post a new one, but I really want a new special! it makes so much difference in what I can and will buy....
  12. OK ladies. Tell me about the Silk Dust. I have it in my cart. I have heard that it does fabulous things and that some people even use it as a night treatment. What is it intended to be used for and how are you using it? I am loving how good my skin looks since I have been using the lavendar everyday everywear as a night treatment on the dry spots.
  13. I have no good advice to add that wouldn't require you to step over to the wrong side of the law. But I am sorry you are going through this. I think documenting things is the best thing you can do right now. A steno pad or even a calendar so you can mark things down on the date they occurred. I don't want to put a damper on your joy in them getting...
  14. My Dad has had diabetes for years and has refused to manage it. He is about to undergo his second foot surgery caused by complications from diabetes. He had one toe removed in October. This time, he will be getting the 4 remaining toes and a large portion of the foot removed. I cannot stand around and watch my father die. I need to take a crash course...
  15. It is our dream to have a hobby farm someday, but now we just have chickens. We have 6 hens (2 dominique, 2 australorp, 1 golden laced wyandotte and 1 easter egger). We got them last march as 2 day old chicks. After a few month break, we just started getting eggs again this week. In fact, we just got our first green egg! That was pretty exciting...
  16. The gluten-free list at Trader Joe's is great. However, like all lists, it is obsolete before the ink is dry. Product formulations change all the time, so you still have to read the label each and every time you buy something. There have been many times I have found something on the TJ's gluten-free list only to look at the label and see it contains wheat...
  17. I agree - it's the same for me. It seems like I put on my makeup and it looks a little rough at first. But then 30 or so minutes later it settles in or something and looks really great. I've certainly never had anything that stays looking good all day before. EM really holds up.
  18. I don't think it is "required", but I can think of so many reasons to get a diagnosis before going gluten-free. My son has a 504 plan with the school district that allows him to get a safe school lunch provided from the school district. He also gets modifications to classroom requirements that may cause him to come in contact with gluten (craft projects...
  19. Hey ladies - did you realize this thread is up over 1000 posts now? Who knew there was so much to say about makeup? I sent EM an email yesterday while their website was down, and I also asked if they could give out any information about the new special. They replied back that the website was back up, but convenielntly neglected to answer my question...
  20. Well, I was going to post this picture of myself, but I thought it would make you all feel bad about how beautiful I am. It's not really me in the pic - I don't think she's heard of Everyday Minerals yet... Welcome to the cult, Jodi and Shannon! You will find it is very addictive. I want their website to come back up so I can look at more EM...
  21. It won't load for me either. Maybe they are finally doing the website upgrade they keep talking about. Or maybe the next special is so gynormous it crashed the whole thing.
  22. I don't have that cookbook, but I ama loser in lots of other ways. Can I still join? I googled "carol Fenster Pizza Crust" and came up with this recipe. Open Original Shared Link Hope that's the one you are looking for.
  23. Stay strong, Paula. there will be a new special sometime this week, I just know it. I like mint for spot-covering red areas and I also use sunlight under my eyes to camouflage the dark circles. I only use a tiny bit each day, so the samples I got are going to last me forever. I am getting pick me up pink on my next order. It almost feels...

    ARCHIVED Costco

We use our costco card a lot! Things I have purchased there in the last few months include (I also included the prices if I could remember them): Yopliat yogurt cheese, shredded and block lunchmeat string cheese sugar brown rice jasmine rice corn tortillas fresh salmon Larabars ($17.59 for a case of 18 bars) Produce - their stock...
  25. Open Original Shared Link on this forum. It wasn't a whole segment, just mentioned in passing. All of the kids shows nowadays (GOD that makes me sound old!) make me run screaming from the room, so when they come on, I don't usually stick around for long. But I definitely hear when they mention gluten-free. I think my spidey sense kicks in and I can...
