How awful Ali!!! Food poisoning maybe? I hope you are all better now.

Ideally you would "heal" your body instead of just giving it a drug. But believe me, I understand the temptation to just drink. ALL of the studies suggest women shouldnt drink more than 1 little glass of alcohol a day. So if you are going to imbibe, I would keep it to 1 (one) 4 oz glass in the evening and not 2.
Find a good Holistic doctor who can help you heal your adrenals and fix your circadian cycle. Did you ever try Melatonin before bed? GABA? These can help regulate your body and get it back on track. Then you ween off of them.

Glad it is feeling better. I dont have any mercury left in my mouth. I found a biological dentist nearby who did everything right (ventilation, dam, etc.). I did them 2 at a time till they were all done....5 visits. It is worth it IMO. I have no regrets there. My body temperature went up 2 degrees when there were all out!! They were suppressing my thyroid big time.
Anyway....I am still at it....I forget what day I am on...10 or so....I've been with the sesame...but going to change it up tomorrow and use coconut. Teeth still look good. No major changes yet. Still keeping an eye on those gums.

You cannot make a blanket statement like "all" because the FDA doesnt monitor what goes into "natural flavor". Honestly ANYTHING can be in it. But in general, yes, it has some form of MSG. Like "yeast extract", "autolyzed yeast", "flavorings", etc. They generally do. MSG is a flavor enhancer. Any bland yucky food can be made to taste good with it. This is why you find it in SO many places with hidden names.
Fast food without MSG.....not likely. Try Chipotle. They are probably o.k.
-
I know immediately when I've had MSG.....My brain gets a "buzzy" feeling and the world seems a bit surreal for about 10 minutes. That doesnt last long. If I got a big enoiugh dose a headache follows within a few hours.
"Natural Flavor" is a big source of hidden "MSG". Like I pick up a bottle of pear "essence" water with 3 ingredients: water, essence of pear and natural flavor. If it has the pear then why does it need anything more? Because without the MSG it would taste bland and flat. MSG can make a dog turd taste good, but it isnt healthy at all. I avoid it as much as humanly possible. I generally only get it now if I eat out (on rare occasions).
The only restaurants that I have found that dont use it are HIGH END $$$.

I just ate there myself last week with a friend. It was my first time. I got the lettuce wraps. They were very good and very careful. The server brought me my own condiment dish (though I didnt use it) and reiterated it was gluten-free when he brought my food. I didnt get sick.
-
I didnt eat beef for 7 years. Like you meat killed my stomach and gave me D. Then a Chinese doctor told me I needed to eat red meat after looking at my tongue. I went straight away to the store and bought a steak, ate it that night and felt GREAT! I've been eating it ever since.

Roasted nuts are "rancid". The oils in nuts go "rancid" very quickly even without heat. But roasting accelerates that process. Now that you dont have gluten mucking up your system, your body lets you know that they are toxic.

It is the flattened mucosa that give it a way. There ARE other things that can cause damage to your villi. But B12 deficiency is common in gluten intolerance/Celiac. If you cannot get a definitive Dx there in Asia, you have nothing to lose by going 100% gluten-free to see if your symptoms improve and it IS a healthy diet.
-
Nuts are VERY high in fat and Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin. Active Celiac can hinder the absorption of fats and certain vitamins. It could have easily made you feel sick to eat them. You know if you do have true Celiac, not worrying about little bits of gluten/wheat here and there could really be harming you.

It's official!! I have two areas where the gums have receded. Like when there is no tarter or gunk in them, there are no gums there. Lower front teeth. I had two little triangles of no gums and one of the areas is filling in!!! Yeah!!! I am so hopeful and when they both fill in (I am being positive) I will make an appt. with my dentist just to show them off. I cannot wait!! And they ARE whiter. Hubby finally noticed them this morning in the bathroom. They feel cleaner than they ever have.
I dont know if it is doing ANYTHING else with the rest of my body at this point. But the value for my mouth is worth the time and effort!
"Toasted" sesame means they toast the seeds before extracting the oil. They "brown" and "caramelize" them before pressing them. With cold-pressed, no heat is used. They are "raw" seeds with only pressure (you want "pressed" otherwise they have used a chemical) to extract the oil.
"Toasted" will not work according to all of the literature I have read. Plus it has a STRONG flavor. Regular cold pressed sesame doesnt have much taste at all IMO.
Rachel - I would try cold-pressed Sunflower first. It is recommended along with sesame. See how that goes and if not, then try another oil.
Happy Pulling everyone!!!

Mental illness and depression runs in my family. After my daughter was born my thyroid went haywire. I had the worst time. For awhile I couldnt sleep (hyperthyroid) and I sat around sweating and mind racing none stop. I believed the devil was on my back and he was wispering in my ear all of the time that I was worthless and that I should just kill myself. Audible voice from the devil in my ear. Then I went hypothryoid and slept ALL of the time and became completely depressed.
Our bodies are amazing things, but even if one little nutrient or organ is deficient or in excess, everything can go crazy including our brains.
You;ve had a real rough go of it and now is a good time to love yourself and let yourself heal. You arent a bad person. You are a beautiful person who has had health issues.
A simple diet is the way to go. It has helped resolve my depression completely.
Meats, veggies, fruits, nuts, squashes, potatoes, brown rice and the like. These will HEAL you.

Yes Mommy it is good. Ayurvedia has been around for thousands of years. They didnt use "refined" oil back then.
I'm over a week now and my teeth are definitely whiter. And the gums are healing.

Our bodies have a "tipping point". Just because you dont "feel" or "see" an autoimmune response does not mean it is not happening.
-
You can eat chick peas, raw cruciferous veggies, etc. once in a while. You just dont want to be downing them everyday and a lot of them.
-
Please refresh my memory. Are you Dx Celiac? How long gluten-free? Is it helping? Gluten can definitely mess with your mind and nervous system.

I was able to gain eating healthy oils (olive, flax, etc.), nuts and seeds and winter squash/sweet potatoes. I also eat all meats. It has taken a long time though. I have put on a good 8 much needed pounds over the last 8 months.

Yes...NOT the toasted. That would be nasty and not work. I prefer the taste of the Coconut myself, but I think the Sesame is what cleans and heals the teeth/gums which is my goal right now.
Everyone keep us posted!!

I have read that some people really have to fight the "gag" reflex. I am thankfully I dont have that issue. I went 10 minutes the first time, but have discovered I have to do a full 15 to make it completely white and foamy like is recommended. I dont do 20 as that just seems overkill.
Mommy - maybe try with a smaller amount and build up to 1 Tlb. Or go for 5 minutes for awhile and build up to 15.
It is too early for me to declare victory (only 1 week) but I do believe my gums are looking better in my trouble area (bottom front have 2 spots where the gums need to fill in). I am so very hopeful!!

I get similar to Susan. The dizziness is the worst of all!!
-
I've been rinsing real good with warm water, sea salt and baking soda. Really feels super clean afterwards.
What am I....a week in. So far so good!

Everyone on here who uses Synthroid says it is gluten-free. I never checked cuz Im on Armour which is gluten-free. Others will chime in.
-
I support Scott/gluten-free Mall. I buy Nomato from them ALL of the time. It is SCD legal and replaces tomato sauce. It is in a jar and not homemade, but nothing illegal in it. But as most of you know I dont have to be anal about SCD anyway. It really is the "starches" that do me in.

My husband has been wonderful through all of this. He gladly wen gluten-free in our house for me. He just wanted me to get better. And the "right" person for you will be the same. They will love you and just want you to be healthy. I know it can be hard, but try to keep a positive attitude whilst dating. We all have secrets. ALL of us. Confessing to your date that you have Celiac disease has got to be better than telling her you have Herpes or HIV right? And you might just get a response you wouldnt believe. You might find a mate that will be happy to help you, learn how to cook gluten-free and have fun doing it!!

Just an update on me:
We were on vacation for 2 weeks PLUS the holidays....Then I got back to a ton of sales and commission work. So I have been VERY BUSY. But Im not complaining...in this economy....it is such a blessing!!
Right now I am investigation "migraine syndrome". I found this book in a bookstore:
Heal Your Headache: The 1-2-3 Program for Taking Charge of Your Pain (Paperback)
by David Buchholz
I was getting better, but I had some NEURO setbacks. This book was "spot on" for me. My symptoms....ALL neuro really. Very mild D. But ALL others neuro. He explains how my symptoms are all manifestations of migraine (not just the headaches). Fascinating read too. I believe Gluten is definately a trigger for me, but he explains all the many other food triggers.
So I am 1 week into the migraine relief diet. He says to give it a good 2 months before assessing. So nothing to report just yet. I want the vertigo, neuropathy and headaches to go completely away....I dont want any residual.
The book explains why the SCD wasnt working for me totally. I had to nix fermented foods and nuts. As they are both major triggers to migraines.
Will let you know!! When things ease up....I'll be back in.
