I, too, know exactly what everyone is saying. I've been suffering from celiac disease symptoms for about five years, starting a few months into college. I always thought that the symptoms were a result of nerves, but now I know that they are a result of celiac disease. I wonder how many other people out there have come to or need to come to that realization. I'm happy to be in a group of understanding people. Thank you
Now the trick is trying to rewire my brain to function without the pain. I've been thinking about possible solutions. I'd rather not take any chemicals as I try to only ingest natural and wholesome foods. But maybe I should reconsider..? I'm also wary about seeing a therapist. But maybe I should reconsider..? I'm also interested in yoga and meditation. Does anyone have any experience in these things?

I just tried the RVB Honey Lager last night. It's not bad. It's pretty sweet, but I think it will satisfy my craving for beer. Cheers!

I called them today. All of their products are gluten-free.
-
I talked to someone from Polar Beverages who said that all of their products are gluten-free!

It looks like those two sections have been combined, and that's where we are
Filititi, do you have a sweet tooth or are you a meat and potatoes kind of person?
-
Wow. That's a lot to read! I think I'll copy and paste it to a word doc and digest it all soon. I can't wait to hear how it is treated in this session of congress!
-
Just from reading the ingredients, it seems that Aidells (sp?) is gluten-free. They make good chicken sausages. Also, you could ask your grocer's butcher if their italian sausages are gluten-free.

I'll try calling. I'm not sure what artificial anything is needed in tonic water, but I'll find out.
-
Tonic water tends to say that there are artificial flavors and colors. I love gin and tonic. Are there any gluten-free tonics?

It is pretty close to the quote button...

Hmm. Maybe you could combine ingredients with products and shopping. Treatment/recovery with medications and post diagnosis. baking with recipes. Publications and publicity with research. you get the idea. also, maybe you could put all of the travel and goreign categories next to one another and all of the for _____ only categories together. You know, keep them as separate categories, but just have them next to one another with perhaps a thick, dividing line between the subgroups of categories. www.myfordfocus.com has a similar message board broken down like that. Check it out.
Just my $0.02.

Anyone know exactly what some memebers of congress are proposing for new food labeling regulations? e.g. Are there any examples of what a new label would look like? What do you all want for labels? The gluten-free icon? Proper wording? Also, are there icons for other allergies? e.g. yeast or eggs or dairy or ..?
Sorry for asking a lot in this thread. Thanks in advance for everyone's input.

Anyone call McCormick?

Is there any way to have the default setting show all topics, both pinned and not pinned mixed together, in order of most recent activity?
-
Why are some topics pinned? I started a couple new threads, but they're 3 pages back because they're not pinned. How will people see the new threads if they so far back?
-
I heard that some vitamins and spices have fillers with gluten. What brands are safe?
-
What is in flavored yogurt that isn't gluten-free?
-
Is Bragg's safe?
-
Are there any safe artificial (or natural, for that matter) colors or flavors?

No, I started several days later. I plan to call my GI to see if i should have some wheat (or maybe beer
before my appointment to get accurate test results. I think, though, that I won't have an endoscopy done on my first appt, so I'd like to go gluten-free as much as I can to alleviate my symptoms. Btw, during an endoscopy is the patient awake or knocked out?
-
I, too, have had this pain. I'm still in the stage between seeing my PCP and a GI for a final disgnosis. My PCP did an antibody test, which came out negative. He thinks it's a false negative and that I have a mild case. I said, "mild? You've got to be kidding me!" Sometimes the pain is so severe I can't work or talk with my coworkers. I've been gluten-free for almost two weeks now, and I know that's too soon to see some real results. However, there are days when I feel better than others. Yesterday I was at CostCo trying samples and I accidentally put a ravioli in my mouth before I knew what i was doing. That afternoon I had a really bad stomach ache. Does anyone know of a way to treat this type of pain. I've tried Tums, Pepto, Gas-X, Tylenol... Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Have you tried their Corn Bread? It's so good.
No, not yet. I'm not sure Whole Foods in the Boston area carries it, but I'll look into it. I love cornbread. Ever try cornbread stuffing?

Is there any way to combine some of these categories. I feel that a lot of info in different categories is related, but I don't have time to look through each one.

Glutino! JSBaby has it right. Glutino bread is great. I just tried their flax seed bread. It's delicious. It has the consistency of non-gluten-free bread and doesn't crumble. Even if i didn't need gluten-free food I'd like to eat it!

I think the only way to really tell if natural and/or artificial colors/flavors are gluten-free is to call the manufacturer.
