Thanks! I'll check it out.

Can anyone recommend a gluten free lip balm with a physical sunscreen? Also, a physical sunscreen for the face for dry skin? Thanks

I made this the other night and the hubs loved it. Since it's just the two of us next time I will cut the recipe in half. It is very rich. Thanks for posting.

I use L-Glutamine as well. I only wish I had started using it when I was first diagnosed so that I would have healed a little quicker.
-
I use Pamela's and do the buttermilk version. Everyone loves it. I think they are better after they have cooled rather than right out of the oven.
-
Thanks. The kind I was using was in the refrigerated section so I wasn't sure.

Hmm, I posted something, but didn't show up.
Thanks for the brand. Do you buy it in the healthfood store or the grocery store? Is it refrigerated?

This is super easy and really quick.
Bobby's Baked Tilapia
From Paula's Best Dishes
Servings: 4 servings
Ingredients:
Butter cooking spray (I used olive oil)
4 (6 to 8-ounce) tilapia fillets
1 teaspoon Paula Deen Silly Salt (I use sea salt)
Freshly ground black pepper
1 lime, finely grated zest and juice
2 tablespoons butter (you do not have to add this)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat a large cast iron pan with a nonstick butter spray. (I used a pan and used an olive oil spray).
Rinse fish and pat dry; place on the prepared baking sheet. Season each fillet with Silly Salt, cracked pepper, lime zest and lime juice. Add fish to the pan. place a pat of butter on each fillet and ook in the oven for 8-12 minutes.
This is so easy. I bought a bag of tilapia at Safeway that has each fillet individually frozen.

I would like to start adding ground flaxseed to my yogurt each morning. I've tried one brand, but it didn't sit too well, so thought I would try another.
What are your favorite brands? Thanks!

Since going gluten free, I have experienced a huge improvement in my allergies. I used to take a rx generic allegra and a rx nasal spray every day. I had chronic nasal drip and sinusitis. The docs would ask when my allergies bothered me most and I would tell them it's every single day! I was able to get off the meds very quickly after going gluten-free and I have not had a sinus infection since. So happy this was a positive result of going gluten-free.

My TSH level is always below 1. My doctor does not really look at TSH, but looks at the Free T3 and Free T4 numbers. I feel best when my Free T3 is towards the upper end of the range and my Free T4 is towards the middle.
-
Like Beachbirdie, I started on Armour until they reformulated it and then switched to Nature-throid. I also take and additional T3 which I get from a compounding pharmacy. I have been taking Nature-throid for a while now and seem to do well on it.

I want that bread too! OMG, my mouth is watering for it. I wonder if it will come as baguettes too. They were in the video. I feel teased now.

Tracey, I take Bluebonnet Power-Zymes (free of milk, egg, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, corn, yeast, gluten, barley, sodium and sugar.) 100% Kosher vegetable capsule, rice bran, purified water.
The probiotic I take is Florasmart by Renew Life. It says may contain traces of milk proteins from fermentation ingredients.
Many people have posted about Culturelle and that they really like it. There is a dairy free one. You can do a search on here to find the thread.
-
The multi I use is by Solgar. It is the Formula V VM-75. I use the iron free because I don't need the iron anymore, but they have one that also includes the iron. This one is free of yeast, wheat, soy, gluten and dairy products and are formulated without the use of artificial preservatives, flavors or colors.
As Rice Guy mentioned, I also use the cherry flavored sublinguals. In fact, I think Rice Guy was the person that recommended them years ago and that is why I chose them. I take two of them, but you have to figure out what works for you.
You may be able to get them at your health food store. I have a great health food store near me that is actually knowledgeable. They offer supplements at a discount and will order anything I want if they do not carry it.

I wish I had some advice for you, but all I can offer is support and hope that your nutritionist will be able to help you! I will send some positive thoughts your way.

If you haven't had a celiac panel done, you may want to ask your doc for that. If your GI won't do the panel, your family doctor may order it for you. Also, I think Breyers, not positive, makes an ice cream that some lactose intolerants can eat.

I use Source Naturals, methylcobalamin (B12). It says contains no yeast, dairy, egg, gluten, corn, soy or wheat.
I started with the 5 mg and now take the 1mg.
I can't help on the multi - mine is free of gluten, dairy and soy, but doesn't say anything about corn.

Prickly, I would love to go, but I'm a scaredy cat! If I could just get a po' boy on Magazine and a couple of petit fours I would be happy. Oh yum.
Prickly, if you ever get to Phoenix, let me know. I know you're in Tucson so not that far away.
Bartful, I'm glad you got to experience the food. It is an experience, isn't it.

I wonder if the puffiness could be due to inflammation. If you are new to this, you could still have some inflammation in your body. Or, maybe an allergy to some of the ingredients in the products you are using? It is so hard to tell. I hope you find out what it is.

I miss being able to be spontaneous and not have to plan everything. I miss being able to go into any restaurant or someone's home and share food, both theirs and mine. For the most part, I'm good with the diet. I never cheat and don't really think about it when I'm at home because I know my food is safe for me to eat.
I have not been back to New Orleans in 5 years. I handle cravings pretty well, but I don't know if I could do this city without really wanting to cheat. I'm originally from there, but grew up in Dallas. We would visit every year and I still have family there. I know it sounds terrible, but just can't do it yet. I miss that!
But overall, I don't worry much unless I'm traveling.

Bartful, I'm sending lots of positive thoughts to you. If you haven't had your blood tests yet, because you are fatigued, you may want them to test your ferritin levels. Perhaps you are anemic? Also maybe test for thyroid. I had extremely low levels of ferritin for a while which made me feel exhausted all the time. And, I was extremely pale.
Sorry about the veggies. Very hard to eat something that you can't digest.

Michelle L, I noticed that you recently joined so I'm assuming that you are new to this? If so, it can be very difficult to figure out if your cosmetics are gluten free or not. You may want to first look at the ingredients on the packaging and see if any wheat ingredients stand out. If they don't, try contacting the manufacturer.
I don't use any of the Loreal products so can't help out on that front.
I know that many people on this forum like the Everyday Minerals - do a search on here and you will see tons of messages. They are very reasonably priced. I use Bare Escentuals which is also gluten free for foundation and concealor. I use Lancome eye shadow, lipstick and mascara(definicils) which I have confirmed by calling them that they are gluten free. I also use Burts Bees lipshimmers, but understand they will no longer say their products are gluten-free so I will have to re-evaluate that.
Sorry I couldn't help on the Loreal, but hopefully someone else on here uses their products and can comment.

Yes, let us know. Do you like Maudie's? I was in Austin a couple of years ago and ate there a few times. They have gluten-free chips that come in a sealed bag so no chance of cc.
