About Me

I am a newly diagnosed celiac in the past 8 months. I was having severe symptoms for about 6 months before being fully diagnosed.

After reading a lot of forums and information on this site, I realized all my other symptoms that I have had my whole life now.

1. When I was an infant I would vomit all my food, unless it was soy based.

2. When I was young I had terrible migraines (I got my eyes checked and thought that was the cause)

The migraines continued into my teens (then I thought they correlated with my menstrual cycle) NO Luck!

3. After starting high school. I started coughing constantly after eating for about 1-2 hours. My mom told me she thought I had a tick or seasonal allergies.

4. A year ago, I started with severe diarrhea.

*Now that I read a lot about symptoms I realize those were my simple symptoms changing to the diarrhea.

I have none of these symptoms at all anymore!! Amazing :)

Other than my intestinal identity...I am a Certified Athletic Trainer and I am attending school for my Master's degree.

I am soon to be married and hopefully start a family later on. I am trying to find a place where I can find information and meet people to help me cope with the new transitions I will be having.

  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Yesterday, Chris and I went to meet with our wedding planner. Everything is coming together wonderfully. We now have a total itinerary with the planner. We also have an ice sculpture with our package and I love the design the guy made. However, I have been dealing with car issues, and as I type my car is being looked at. Hopefully, I will not have to pay out too much money...since I am still trying to save money. As of my nutrition, I am now in a rut! I don't really enjoy eating and I don't want to eat most days..however, I force myself. My meals usually consist of salad with italian

    Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas! This Christmas was great with family and friends. My soon to be mother in law had a friend of hers make me gluten free, dairy free chocolate covered pretzels!!! AMAZING!!! I am still eating them, and I am ready to make some more myself. My fiance and I traveled quite a bit getting to everyone's house and seeing all our families. We had a wonderful time despite the travels. Since we scaled down Christmas this year, my family finally was able to go to night service at Church, since we were not traveling at night time this year. I really enjoyed the late night service and
  4. No he is not. However, he writes the way that someone falls into the book..not knowing what time it is, or anything around them. The only problem is that most of his books are detective murder mystery types. "Sundays at Tiffany's" is a rare type of book for him. I would suggest this book, but maybe not the others if you are looking for a Christian author.
  5. Wednesday I started a book I am borrowing from the library. It's called "Sundays at Tiffany's" By: James Patterson (He is an amazing writer) Anyways, I started the book Wednesday morning about 10:00. I took a break around 12:00, showered and went to work. As I was at work and in between giving treatments to the athletes, I read a total of 2 more hours. I was done in 4 hours.....what a great book! It's about a young girl that has a mom that is always working, she has an imaginary friend that looks after her (he is 35 y.o). She turns 9, and he has to leave her and move onto another child.

    Glutened :(

Yesterday I was glutened..and it was probably fault. I went to Steak and Shake with my fiance. We were going to go to a steak restaurant, but it was very busy (being a saturday night). We ended up choosing S & S. I, first asked the waitress about the chili....which I should have known not to eat it...I had a bad feeling. But, I thought I would try it, since I have eaten chili at other places before. I ordered a steak burger with no bun or cheese, and some french fries. I forgot to ask about the french fries being fried in the same fryer as other foods All in all, this was a bad

    Hard Week

This week was especially difficult staying away from gluten and resisting temptation. I was with friends most of the week...and they always tend to get pizza and want to go out to eat. I have no problem going out to eat, but I usually like to plan ahead before I go. I was craving chocolate earlier this week and resisted the temptation....making myself wait until I went home to get my dairy free choc. chips. Good thing I did that! I know there are always going to be difficult days, but since I found this website, I feel immensely better about resisting temptation. I find myself being

Well, today I ate a small amount of oatmeal....not realizing that I don't think I should be eating that. So far, I have been ok, without severe consequences. I feel like my body sometimes needs a "cleansing flush", because sometimes I have diarrhea..yet I have not eaten anything 'bad' for a long time. Not sure about that. Anyways.... I have been looking for a type of soy cheese that has mozerella and american/cheddar flavors? Any ideas. I thought that I might have to order the cheese online and then freeze it. My other question if anyone can answer is..... Does anyone else cr

    My Journey

I understand the frustration with other people that try to apologize for you, but they have no control over anything...so they should just understand that we have to do things a different way. I usually bring my own food wherever I go, and I have a bag of food in my car, most of the time that is the best way for me. I would suggest for the "dining out" (which I do not do much), however, Applebee's has an oriental stir fry, which I get with grilled chicken instead of breaded chicken. This dish is very good and a huge meal, so there is always left overs. Another big chain I heard that has

    My Journey

My most severe symptoms that affected my daily routine started August 2008 with constant diarrhea. I thought at first it was anxiety, since I started graduate school, a new job and moved to a new place with a person I had never met. Lots of changes in a matter of a month. After a while nothing got better, it actually became worse. Once I started tracking what was happening, I was soon gaining weight with the diarrhea (instead of losing weight) I finally went to my doctor and told him all my symptoms. With my background of my bachelor's in Athletic training I knew that I most likely had

    My First Entry

Well. I have never written a blog, so I am not sure how this works....but I will just write something and see what happens. Recently, I have been thinking about getting pregnant a few years after I am married (this upcoming June). I have been really concerned about being infertile or have complications. Being infertile is one of my biggest fears. I have talked with my fiance about these issues and he says it's ok, we can always adopt....but I think he would be devastated too. Since I am one of the only people in my cirlce of friends and family that has celiac disease and casein alle
