As the Mom of a Celiac daughter and owner of a bakery offering gluten free goodies, we've expanded our menu for Christmas. If successful, we'll continue carry them into 09.

We have wrapped gluten-free items for holiday baskets. Along with cupcakes, we're carrying 5 kinds of cookies, organic granolas, brownies and we're working on some bread recipes for next year.

We take preorders for gluten-free birthday, wedding and party cakes.

We're hoping this will make the season a little easier... we only bake things that taste good!!

Just so you know, our kitchen is not certified because we bake traditional items as well, BUT we go to great lengths to assure safety. For folks who have severe allergies, we are an exclusive distributor of Dr.Lucy's cookies which are certified wheat, dairy and tree nut free.

Happy holidays!

Dawn Eskins
Carolina Cupcakery at Edinburgh

237 Carmichael Way #221
Chesapeake, Virginia 23322
757-204-4775

1. This is my first posting, because I thought it wise to consult with the experts- you guys! As the mom of a Celiac daughter in college I'm also a bakery owner who's been offering gluten free products and have a question- we're making lots of gluten free goodies for Christmas but the question of oats (as a baking ingredient) keeps coming up- what is the latest consensus on oats? Clearly they don't contain gluten but it sounds like the potential for contamination is pretty great- We purchase ours from an Amish organic supplier but need to know if we should get them somewhere else?

Until now, we've just avoided the use of oats altogether...
