  1. I had been experiencing a very very itchy rash; I would get these red spots, some would have liquid, but others were just bumps. But like you if I scratched more would appear. I have not sought formal diagnosis, but I have gone gluten free and experienced gradual but steady improvement. I suspect DH because after eating pasta with family last weekend the itching returned with a vengeance and took most of this past week to get comfortable once more. (never again!)

Whether or not you seek a diagnosis.... what gave me relief was regular application of topical hydrocortisone cream, just the over the counter variety (1%). I washed affected areas with warm water and applied the cream, 3 times a day. At least at night I covered the affected areas with guaze after applying the cream, to prevent myself from scratching in my sleep. I used the gauze wraps during the day as well, it kept the cream from soaking into my clothes and in contact with my skin. I found some comfort this way.

good luck, let us know how you do.

  2. Could be DH.. Do yo have water blisters? Great time to see a Dermatologist..

No...they are not watery...that is what throws me...it is almost like a Histamine reaction where I itch and then bumps come...it is mostly on my forearms, wrists (especially underside) in corners of elbows, and behind my knees...the docs don't seem to know what they are talking about all they seem to think is that it is an allergice reaction to "something". Very helpful...the prednisone helped some but did not make it go away and I felt like crap on it..not wanting to go back on that...I have also been VERY careful over the past week to be Gluten-Free.

  3. After figuring out I have Celiac (I have alomst EVERY symptom)..I have been gluten free for almost 3 months. 9 Days ago I ate out (mistake) and TRULY BELIEVE I was given regular pasta instead of Gluten-Free...36 hrs later I started breaking out in a histamine rash...VERY itchy (forearms, elbows, crook of knees) and the docs seem to have no clue...6 days of prednisone later it has rebounded and I am wondering if anyone thinks tis could be in the DH family...I am going CRAZY wondering what I am reacting to. Some times it also feels like a "pins and needles" feeling as well.

  4. I am wondering...I am only over a month into being gluten free after finding out I have Celiac....I reacted yesterday and today to something (a definite reaction ) and can only think of 2 possible things....a salad dressing called Betty's salad dressing or Old Dutch cheesy puffcorn...neither has ingrediants that I can pinpoint but I am suspecting the cheesy puffcorn...as it is one of my faves I am wondering if anyone knows anything since I cannot find anything on the web...THANKS!!!
