  1. THey called me back and said that they have removed the wheat from the Soy suace even though they have had it tested for Gluten. She claimed they had a process that removes the gluten from the wheat during fermentation.

They however do not list their product as gluten free but say that it is. ?

I will say it was deeelicousss!

  2. Please let us know if the company contacts you back and let us know what they say.

This is just maddening! I had issues yesterday and took pepto on the advice of someone here and it made me feel so much better! I mean I was still ick but at least I could take my daughter to her dr. appt that had been scheduled for a month.

    Hope you feel better quick!

Nothing too bad at the moment. A little dizzy and my favorite, GAS!. But no major cramps yet! I really appreciate the genuine concern, and love coming on here for help. What a battle we face dailly just trying to live normal lives.

I will certainly update as soon as i here from the company. I have left them emails on both the company website and their facebook page. Voicemail too.

    God bless

    -Bryan

  3. Perhaps it has such a small amount of soy sauce that the gluten content is below the legal ppm limit to be considered a gluten-containing item? Sort of like McDonalds' fries that have wheat but can be called gluten free (not trying to start the Mcdonald's debate up, just using it as an example). That's all I can think of...

I suspect you are right. But i do wonder why on the web page it is no longer listed as gluten free. I will know soon enough. It's been about 7 hours since the incident and this is where i usually start getting the bad pain. So far nothing too unusual.

  4. I hope you don't get too sick. :( I'd report them to the FDA. That label is illegal and dangerous.

I thought about it. I think i will wait to here from the company and give them a chance to respond. I went back to their web page and looked at their labeling, and they currently do not advertise to be gluten free. They have also removed wheat as an ingredient in their soy sauce. I will wait to here back from them, i saved the package. Maybe i can get some free GLuten free jerkey out of it!

  5. That's whacky. I'm not familiar with the product but I suspect the labeling is wrong. Can you contact the manufacturer?

i tried, i left a message. When you look at thier product info, they have removed the gluten-free tag on thier website. And they no longer list wheat in thier soy sauce on the site. as my stomach begins to gurgle.... I am Mad!!!

  6. I purchased Primal Strips, a Meatless Vegan Jerky product from Primal Spirit Foods. THe package clearly states Gluten Free on it. It lists as an ingredient (Gluten-Free) Soy sauce (Water, Non-GMO Soybeans, Wheat, Sea salt) how can this be listed gluten free. Glad i ate 2 bites before reading this. Anyone else ever had this problem?

  7. I went gluten free 7 months ago, and symptoms went away almost immediately. Lactose free for a while but have been slowly bringing it back. In the past, i have felt dizzy from time to time, but lately almost dailly. Fingers and toes have begun tingling and numbness in toes for the past 3 weeks. left calf and knee are sore alot. went and had blood work done B-12 was normal, Iron was high, hemoglobin count was high. ANA positive,Range negative? at blood test, Speckled titer 1:40( WHatever all of this means ). Have been taking b-12 supplements and Multi's (without iron) all along. Never officially diagnosed other than elimination diet confirmation.

Am i still getting gluten somehow? i have had eggs at resturaunts here and there over the last month. Can and does gluten cause tingling and numbness even without a b-12 deficiency?

I'm nervous and frustrated. I may need a new doctor who gets it. they told me to come back next month, for more blood work and office visits. I could sure use some guidance, thanks...

  9. I have been diagnosed for 5 years through a biopsy for Gluten. I have followed a strict Gluten Free diet. I am still getting bloating and wondered if I have to stop not only Lactaid free Milk but all cheeses and dairy? My question is, if I do has anyone found a way to get calcium without the stomach discomfort? Also does anyone take probiotic pills since I do not tolerant yogurt without bloating and discomfort.

    Thanks for any help.

I too bloat from dairy, even lactose free. I take acidophillus between meals all the time(I am new to Celiac). I had A gluten free pizza the other night and took acidophilus first and had no reaction or bloating. I am tempted again to induldge!! I'm getting sick of soy/rice cheese on stuff. i can tolerate it on sandwitches, but don't mess with my pizza! I do drink Coconut milk(OSO Brand) and Almond milk. both seem to settle well and have calcium added.

  10. Thank you everyone.

My son says he has been experiencing this since age 8. Most recently at dinner yesterday. He felt that he watched himself get up and leave the table. He does not want to believe that gluten is causing this.

I will share your answers with him and ask him to begin taking B12 if it is available to him.

    RA

Possibly caused by something called wishful thinking. What was for dinner? Brussel sprouts and liver?

Please excuse me! just trying to lighten things up! Sounds strange to me, but i believe gluten can cause nearly any and every condition known to man.

  11. I was just diagnosed with Celiac's last week, had never really heard of it until a few weeks ago when my doctor decided to test me due to anemia for which no one could find a cause. My doctor did not know much about it, told me to look up information online about what I can and cannot eat. My problem is this diet is already hard for me - I love bread & pasta! I didn't really have any symptoms other than the anemia, so changing my eating is not making me feel any differently which is going to make it even harder to stick to. Also, I am feeling hungry all the time, like I am missing something (which I know I am). Just wondering if this is a normal feeling when you're first diagnosed and if it gets better. I have found gluten free foods online & at the grocery store, so maybe it will get better after trying some of those. Any advice anyone has would be much appreciated - thank you!

    .

I feel your pain! I used to make bread everyday. favorite hobby. well...was. I finally found bread recipes that are actually worth eating and the rice pasta's are not that different in texture and flavor. I am going on my 4th month gluten-free.I can tell you that i had no idea how bad i actually felt before until i changed my diet. I just thought i was normal and just excepted things the way they were. i hope you find that to be true. I have the Energy to play with my kids at night, my stomach seems to be able to tolerate things that i avoided before. Still some hurdles but over all i feel like a new person. Hang in there. You will feel the benefits soon. I'm new too but it gets easier everyday.

I have found that it is easier to eat the things you already love that are Gluten Free instead of trying to find the fake. Homemade veggie and Shrimp Tempura!!!! i can eat it everyday.

  12. Hi! I'm new to the blog... but I hope I can be of some help. I had the same type of gas! You're right - it's terrible! I was diagnosed August 29, 2008 and began a gluten-free diet that evening. The gas never let up until I took the gluten out of every household and personal care product I owned. The only thing that still contains gluten in my home, that I know of, is the carpet. I never sit on it or walk bare foot on it and I seem to be doing pretty well. The only time I have gas now is if I eat baked beans, or something with lots of onions, more than one meal at a time. You know how sometimes you make something and have leftovers? Well, I can't eat the left overs without getting the gas. But, it's not the same type of gas. So, maybe you just need to give yourself more time to heal inside, or maybe you need to remove some other products with gluten from your home. My shoes that contained gluten were the last things I removed from my home! I'm feeling so much better since that move, and my feet have never looked better!

I've removed it from all of my cupboards. I suppose the next step is the inedibles in the home! It is good advice, but expensive! is there a list available of common household items that are safe/unsafe? thanks

  13. If you have been using the milk all along with no issues my guess would be that you have gotten gluten somewhere. What have you been eating this week that you weren't a couple weeks ago? Any new scripts or refills of generics that haven't been checked? Any new supplements? What has changed?

i had been using lactose free milk sparingly, cereal with milk here and there. I tried regular cheese on some food over the holidays. Looking back at 1 and a half weeks of family gatherings, i was a little more daring with some dairy products than normal. Your suspicion that i've been glutened would fall in line with some of the unusual cramping i felt yesterday. I began my gluten free diet after three days of very intense painful cramping that left me sleepless for days. I am very careful not to eat anything i have'nt personally prepared myself for fear of that pain. But last week i ate things that others prepared, even though they swore it was gluten free,"I didn't put any bread in it!", people don't quite understand that it is in everything. I've cut out dairy since yesterday, and the gas has subsided. taking Acidophilus and multi-vitamins (both gluten-free) regularly. THe dizziness is still here, not as bad. Ginger ale seems to help that. I had bad dizzy spells in my past as well, now i think of those as my early celiac symptoms. I have been battling a cold/sore throat for a week as well. I Hate gluten.

THank you to everyone who has responded, i will take all advice in mind. All of my symptoms can be scary and nerve racking at times, but reading these forums really helps me when i see others with similar problems. Misery loves company. THanks

  14. for the past week, quite frankly, i have horrible stinky gas. I litterally mad my brother in law throw up at Christmas. kind of funny really. Anyway, i have been gluten-free for about 3.5 months and have been doing great. Over the last week, in the evenings usually, i start to get dizzy and stinky. BAD! I have been eating cereal with lactose free milk almost daily. Lots of fruit and veggies, rice and chicken. A little bit of everything. the only thing i have been doing more regularly is the milk thing. Should i be staying off the lactose free milk too? Does Gas cause dizziness? My poor family! Help me stop the stink!

  15. I have still be struggling with the gluten free diet but have been gluten free for the last 3 days. But today I feel TERRRRRRRRIBLE I had a gluten free pizza but after walking home I dizzy when i turn my head quickly as I did to check for cars on my walk home I got a vertigo like feeling. And when i place my feet I feel vulnerable like they wont go where I want them too because I feel dizzy.

In the last year or so I have had two other experiences like this, both are when I have been overtired or up in excess of 28hrs or so.

I have been diagnosed for a 1 year. 22 years old currently and male. I carry some weight to so maybe it could be related to that <_< Anyone else experienced this.

I bought b12 vitamins just because I thought i may help. It comes from nowhere!

do you still get dizzy? I am gluten-free for about 3 months but get bad gas with dizziness associated. My dizziness and gas go together. . wierd!

  16. Congratulations on completing the jigsaw puzzle :D Yes, many of us have to put the pieces together ourselves, and many do not believe we could have done it, after all, that is for the experts. But when the experts fail we do it ourselves, and once the puzzle is complete we don't break it apart again. How wonderful to have a sister to give you support and guidance; she will be an indispensable resource. Most of us are intolerant of dairy to start with, but down the road you may be able to add it back once you've healed. Your gut will still be sensitive for some time while it is healing, but eventually (from the sound of it) you will be good as gold :) If you run into any roadblocks or have any questions, don't hesitate to post a thread.

Thank you! My wife is possibly Celiac as well, runs in her family! We are all Going gluten free. My children (4 and 5) both display symptoms. My son after 2 weeks gluten free is no longer a crabby zombie after kindergarten all day! Now just to get through our first gluten-free Thanksgiving! i just found out we have a gluten-free bakery 3 miles from our home -PECAN PIE!!!

  17. My wife, 2 kids and i all got swine flu at the end of august. i was the only 1 to get diarrea from it. It didn't go away. I had this before, where i got ill and i had "The squirts" for 2 weeks in the past, so i didn't think much of it. i noticed my weight decreasing and i was constantly bloated and very gassy till early Oct. it would come and go for many weeks. Then i had some spagetti and meatballs and half a loaf of french bread. Woke up that night at 4am with intense cramps and diarrea(Iblamed it on the garlic!). went to work and felt better by noon, so i ate pizza! by 3pm on my way home i was covered in hives and had diarrea. I took benadryll and pill called allerplex that is supposedly good for your intestines when having a reaction to food. oops. It is loaded with Gluten. THe next three days were sleepless, foodless nights and days with intense cramps and bloating. The second day my wife read about a disease called Celiac. an answer!

I am a 35 year old Irish, italian native american. My mother had Thyroid Cancer, my Brother is anemic, and he and my sister both have acid reflux and have both been to the doctors numerous times with no resolve to their digestive problems. My sister has gone gluten free with me and has had no more stomach aches.

i have been gluten free for 5 weeks now, and with no cramps or bloating (with the exception of dairy which i have cut out now). my weight has sustained and i am eating well. My stomach seems slightly sensitive to acidic foods. No coffee, catsup, or dairy and i seem fine.

i refuse to eat gluten again. ever. My energy levels are up higher than i can remember and no longer run to the bathroom after meals. I don't think i would eat gluten agin even if i was proven not to be Celiac.

Any feed back would be appreciated!
