    I just wanted to let all the hypoglycemia celiac's know that I have found magnesium supplements have cured me of hupoglycemia. I have been faithfully gluten free for about 10 months, and was slowly getting better, however my blood sugar would get so low I couldn't function at times. I was on a high protein diet and gluten free. It was tough to find food choices.

    I also read that a magnesium deficiency can cause food allergies. I no longer have reactions to peanuts, corn and dairy since adding magnesium supplements.

    Hi, Chaty. I found this post when I was looking up which nutrients may be depleted with celiac. I have allergies to peanuts and eggs and have been taking enzymes to try and heal my digestive system. I didn't know there was a possible link between magnesium and allergies. Thank you so much for this helpful information.

    I have been tested several times for allergies and they change all the time. I go back on February 23 for another test and have been getting annual blood tests now for several years. I am going to try this theory out and hope that it works. I love eggs and peanut butter (used to eat one fried egg and toast with PB at least 3 times a week) it would be so amazing to be able to experience that good warm egg n toast belly again!

  2. But if its the alcohol ingredients they are not sure about, isnt alcohol usually distilled? which for celiacs would be ok?? im not sure here, im just posing the question....

    It's the grain that they use to distill it that causes the problem...same with white distilled vinegar...you can't be sure it's gluten free unless it says it is.

    Although I did print off a list of gluten free avon products that was updated on 9/24/2008 and skin so soft bath oils are on the gluten free list now.

  3. Try switching to a different detergent for awhile. I used to use Tide for many years, then seemed to develop a sensitivity to it. I switched to Purex HE (for front load washers)...bonus is that it is much cheaper than Tide. I also stopped using Bounce...even the unscented version caused problems for my skin. A vinegar rinse in the wash helps to remove detergent residue, eliminate odours and reduces static cling nicely. :)

    I read that white distilled vinegar can contain gluten depending on the type of grain used to distill it so you might want to be careful about which type of vinegar you use.

  4. I just recently started living gluten free but I have the same problem with eye pain and sinuses. I take an anti-histimine that also doubles as an anti anxiety pill. It goes under several names such as hydroxyzine, visteral, or atarax and it also seems to help with the dermatitis symptoms that are common with celiac.

    For the eyes, I buy clear eyes eyes specifically for allergies (they work faster and better than visine A.C. seemed to)and when my eyes get really bad I put SEVERAL drops in each and breathe in deeply while tilting my head side to side and opening and shutting my eyes (if I do this as soon as I use the drops it completely coats my eyes) and the eye drops also seem to help clear my sinuses a little when combined with the hydroxyzine.

    The only time I ever took anti biotics for sinuses made it even worse and more frequent. Using saline nose drops works well for clearing and prevention of sinuses. I never use anti biotics even when the doc tells me to because I always seem to get even sicker. Try this website out. I didn't read the whole article but it might help a little.

  5. I tried a pre-mixed manioc(tapioca)flour pizza crust and had to cook it for much longer than recipe said just so it wouldn't be dough-y. It ended up being super super hard and crunchy on the edges and bottom and in the center of the pizza had the stretchy-ness of fried mozzerella sticks only dough-y and tasted good but texture was horrible. Any suggestions for a better consistency of pizza crust?

    I just read your post and all of the symptoms you have listed on the bottom of your post, lactose intolerance, bloating, sterility is also one and all the rest are definitely symptoms of celiac. Many doctors are lacking knowledge of this condition and some have never even heard of it. Maybe you should think about getting a second opinion.
