  1. Sounds like it is getting steadily worse? You might want to call that gastro asap and get an emergency appointment. Would be much better than him/her seeing in the emergency department.

    What/Where did you have lunch?

They didn't think it was my appenditics. However, thisis the same MD that gave me a smalole of Donnatal to try and it's not on the list @ glutenfreedrugs. She said she couldn't find anyother med to take it's place that was gluten-free. She told me to try it anyway, "it probably only has trace amounts"!

At least she did some blood work and I got something for nausea.

I eat in my lunchroom at school (work) I put down paper towels to eat on. Today, two rice cakes, Hormel turkey meat, a safe sadald dressing I've had before, carrot sticks and some lettus. I had my gallbladder check almost two years ago and it was 97 functioning. I work and live in a shared enviroment. I can control the home one better.

Yesterday was a noodle pasta salad with tuna mixed in.

I'm a nut for hand washing and I wear plastic food gloves when needed.

  2. For the last month I've had some side cramping after I eat. Been trying hard to work around that. Recsently, I've started to cramp more, bloat and vomit after I eat lunch. Usually the pain and cramps start first.

I came home from work yesterday and today vomiting. This time however, my stomach started to burn before i got sick. The nausea med seems to make me hurt more. So, I'll be double checking that. I'm going to call my gastro tomorrow, but it will probably take awhile to get in eith even a PA.

I've never had vomitting as a glutened symptom.

I even thought ulcer, but it hurts like I have eaten straight up gluten. I don't cheat and try to be very careful. Any ideas?

  3. Naturally gluten free at our house. I love to do fancy schmancy such as vanilla bean poached lobster, mushroom pate, seared duck with port cherry sauce, poached or seared scallops with vanilla cream, standing rib roast with Yorkshire pudding, roasted leg of lamb, celeriac puree, wild mushroom risotto, pots du creme, creme brulee, etc. When we have guests we go all out. No need for rolls or bread. I might make homemade crackers or gougeres and a lovely roasted red pepper and walnut dip or serve with compound butters. Or I might make homemade pasta (ravioli) stuffed with roasted butternut squash and goat cheese with crispy sage leaves and arugula.

Come to think of it, this is how we often eat anyway. When guests come we tend to make more courses. We also like to cook non-traditional stuff, things they would never expect or otherwise have. It is like eating at a high-end restaurant.

loves2travel, I think everyone would be beating down your door to eat dinner with you! :D

  4. I'n nut, soy, tomato, gluten-free oats and gltuen free of course. I eat very little milk products. I eat veggies and fruit a lot that I can handle. I've found two natural lines of dressings I use, if you're interested I'll let you know, without the bottle in front of me, I'd misspell.

I eat humus spread on rice cakes. Carrot sticks dipped in a few things. Pickles...Sometimes a chip I can have and popcorn. Some all natural fruit sticks and gummies. I found a cracker by cruchmaster that is nut free. I also think of half a sandwich if you can tolerate what the bread is made of. Soup is also another snack idea. I no longer think of a snack as the "typical" snack food. I've seen alot of dairy free, nut free recipes on Pinterst lately.

    Good luck to you!

  5. So, i am one of those celiac's that gain weight...like it's my job!

I am considering doing weight watchers online, and am wondering if anyone has tried it and if it's been adaptable to the gluten free lifestyle.

    Thanks!!

My daughter is going to meetings and I go with her as she does not have her license yet. I am thinking of joing as well because I have gone too far with putting on weight after ging gluten-free. I've looked at most recipes and some can be made gluten-free. I only cook gluten-free....The only trouble I see is with the different flours we use, however, if you get a WW caculator, it shouldn't be a problem. I like the meetings and my daughter would agree. It holds you more accountable. They have a gluten-free booklet, not much help. When they stated in a meeting that the average person eats out 4.5 times a week, I told my daughter that was six months for me! gluten-free replacement foods would be high points for some, but do able to me. Good luck and best wishes!

  6. This is a great place for lunch and shopping gluten free:

    Open Original Shared Link

They can prepare anything gluten free.

I love Lovey's, but a spend too much money on all of their gluten free products. B)

Thanks, are they good about CC? I have a good market here at homelike this and they don't get CC in their organic resturant. They make it gluten-free, but I've gotten sick when I was firt gluten-free because they didn't wash the grill after gluten wraps.

  7. I'll be taking a trip to Ocean Isle NC and will be driving into Willmington for a day and thought to eat out there. I know of the chains there with gluten-free menus. The last time I was there I ate Chic fil a, but this time would like something different. I did a search of the forum, but would like some up to date experience. I know it is still my own risk to eat out, but would like to know of any good experiences. Thanks!

  8. I so understand! My friend wants me to come to her daughters birthday party which is a cookout. Her and her husband was insisting they would have Nathans hotdogs and wanted me to be able to eat. I thanked them and said it was okay, I didn't have to eat. They were even more insisting...I had to explain their grill has had gluten on it. I don't want to hurt their feelings, however, the next day I am taking a trip and do not want to be sick for half of it. They said they'd wrap it in foil, and I said guys thanks, but no. People mean well, but they have no idea how sick we can get and would prefer to eat where we know we are safe or not eat. I'm so glad you posted this. I wouldn't have thought that either.

  9. Everyone has different taste, I like Tinkyada. It's the best in my area. I dislike corn pasta's, just me.My son thinks the corn pasta is too mushy. I have a crockpot mac and cheese that I will post later. My children who do not have to eat gluten-free, like the Tinkyada with velveeta or american cheese and butter. I like to add cheddar, but they do not. I think taking the time to do a baked mac and cheese is worth it too. Experiment with what sounds good to you :)

  10. I had a bad experience at one pfchangs. I had the same server "almost" CC twice with the sauces, unfortunatley, I don't think it was an accident to him. I stopped him twice on CC my sauce, however the second time I was so sick for three days. I now go to another pfChangs and the servers are so much nicer and I have been okay eating there. I think the other server gave me regular soy sauce. Can't prove it, but I was so sick! I'm not ready to give up on them and their menu. I think you have to find the right server and manager.

  11. IMHO, soy is so not good for anyone, and so many of us gluten freers do not tolerate it either, it seems such an unnecessary allergen to add to food. Sure, it may be cheap, genetic modification has seen to that, but really, why would you want to eat GMO food?? It is one of the top eight allergens and there are so many better (even affordable) choices. (Steps off soapbox)

I agree! It wasn't until I took soy out of my diet that I had a painfree day.

  12. We are going out to lunch for my sons' birthday today. We are going to pfChangs and even though I was fine the last time I went (Nov), I'm still very nervous. I'm going later than noon, but it will still be somewhat busy. I'm having to go a certain time because of my sons work schedule. The last time we went, we all ordered gluten-free.

Do you that eat at pfChang eat their white rice fine? I've added rice back in and was wondering.

I rarely eat out, even though it's been almost 2 years, it still makes me nervous.

  13. Whenever I do have a soda, depending where you are you can find Sierra Mist Natural or Pepsi throwback cola. They are made with real sugar. I also like Crunchmaster 7th Ancient grain lightly salted cracker. It has no corn, no nuts or soy! I'm not sure if you're eating any graines, but this has been the best for me.

  14. Use the SEARCH FORUM VIA GOOGLE --at the top right hand corner? Put in Beer and the threads should show up and you can read what others have posted.

My hubs likes Bard's the best. :)

I have found nothing like Bud Light, however, I like ambers as well. Gluten free beers remind me of ambers. I did not prefer New grist and it is more costly for me where I live. I like Redbridge and Greens. I've seen others around, but I don't want to pay $9 for four beers (although I probably did in my youth in a bar!) when redbridge will do. I have found a new love for hard ciders! I loved Woodchuck "Winter".

  15. Add some peanut butter to the rice cake. I'm eating one right now. That will give you approx. 8 grams of protein.

Thanks for the idea, but I'm allergic to peanuts and a few other nuts. I've been wanting to try sunbutter, but not sure if I'll react to it. Does anyone who has to be nut free eat sunbutter alright? I've been thinking of trying yogurt. I was dairy free, but now seem to handle hard cheese.
