  1. Perhaps they have, I am not sure when you quit selling. If you are still a consultant, you can go to your MK Intouch site and search for "ingredients" in the search box. The online consumer guide to ingredients will be the first search hit. It gives you a list of all products and ingredients. I wasn't trying to be rude, I hope I didn't come off that way. Let me know if there is one spesific product that you miss or want to know about and I will look it up for you! Tiffany

Tiffany - Thanks for your information. I have used MK for years. I have been gluten-free for just a year. The longer I'm gluten-free the more reactions I seem to have when I do get glutened! Lately after switching to the MK Full Coverage Foundation my face, especially around my mouth and chin, is constantly broken out with bumps. They don't get heads like pimples but they do hurt. Then in a few days they go away but others pop out !!!! Could this be the foundation? I use all MK products. When I called the company the lady said they don't test for gluten and I would have to have a private laboratory do the testing and pay for it myself. I was VERY disappointed with their reaction. I am now still using MK products: Visibly Fit Body Lotion, Day Radiance w/ sunscreen, Timewise age fighting moisturizer, Timewise day and night solution, Timewise microdermabrasion and Timewise 3 in 1 cleanser. What do you think about these products? I keep having recurring intestinal troubles and so far haven't found the culprit and am being VERY careful about the food products but maybe it's the cosmetics. Thanks for any help you can offer.

  2. Hi Jan,

I dont have any advice for you because I'm in the same situation right now. Just got my Enterolab results last night and I too was in tears. Your antibodies are a little higher than mine but my malabsorption is the worst I've seen. Hadn't seen anything close to it till I saw your results. Heres my numbers:

    Gluten Sensitivity Testing

Fecal Antigliadin IgA    16 Units    (Normal Range <10 Units)

Fecal Antitissue Transglutaminase IgA    15 Units  (Normal Range <10 Units)

Microscopic Fecal Fat Score:  912 Units    (Normal Range < 300 Units)

    HLA-DQ Gene Molecular analysis:  HLA-DQB1*0301, 0501

I'm confused about what this all means too. I've been on strict diet for 3 months before test.  Were you feeling better on the diet?  I had dramatic improvement at first but then began to be sick again. I don't know if its just gluten doing all this. It was almost a month ago that things started to get bad again. I hadnt changed anything in my diet. I did eat 2 packages of ground processed turkey which likely contained some gluten and during the same week I bought new lotion/hair products which all contained wheat germ oil. Since then I have not gotten back to feeling great again. I don't know if those small amounts could've gotten me this sick and malnourished or if something else is going on. Do you know if gluten sensitivity can cause malabsorption? I'm going to stay gluten-free but do you think we have to be extremely careful the same way a Celiac does as far as contamination and skin products and all that goes? If my problems really are due to gluten than I am one HIGHLY sensitive individual....I dont understand the difference between Celiac & sensitivity. Everyone says only Celiacs get damage in the intestines. If this is the case then what is causing our malabsorption???  I'm soooo confused.

    Rachel,

We sound like we should be buddies! I did get better right away then about 3 months into this I went downhill. Now I find out I should stay away from eggs, dairy, tomatoes, and peppers. I had to change all my beauty products including hair gel, hair color, makeup, soaps. I'm still looking for other sources of hidden gluten. I'm going to try e-mailing that doctor at U. of Maryland and see what he has to say. Good luck to you too. Let's keep in touch.

  4. :( O.K. I'm in tears now. Just got results from Enterolabs, I have gluten intolerance genes but not celiac genes but do have moderate malabsorption of 866 and IgA 20 and Ttg 21 after 6 months of diligent gluten-free diet. So do I have Celiac or Gluten Intolerance and what the _ _ _ _ difference does it make?!! Where do I get help with nutritional advice etc.? I live in a small town and no one in the area seems to know anything about all this. Even the medical community doesn't seem to understand. My doctor said"well it's not life threatening so if you want to eat a piece of birthday cake and ice cream, go ahead, just don't do it all the time." HELP. Two of my daughters and one granddaughter have all been diagnosed with the blood test. My granddaughter was born 14 weeks early and only weighed 20 ounces but is doing pretty good now. She's 7 and still small but has no physical limitations or learning problems. Where can we all find help? I'm in Central Oregon and none of the doctors I've seen except my chiropractor seem to know what to do.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

  5. To answer your question, I was gluten-free because I had given up on medical doctors after years of complaints of abdominal pain, diaharea, migrane type headaches, fatigue, high blood pressure and low back pain. Most of these symptoms didn't have a reasonable explanation for their cause and I was just being given meds to cover up the symptoms. I went to a naturapathic chiropractor and did a d-tox 6 week program and couldn't believe how well I felt after that so when it was over I just continued to stay away from gluten. I gradually added other foods back in but am still avoiding dairy products. I've eliminated a shampoo and hair conditioner that had wheat protein in it and have checked my make up and hair sprays. I'm leaning toward having the Enterolabs panel of tests done sine they claim that being gluten-free for a period of time will still allow a positive test result. I think my daughter should go this direction too instead of the biopsy. Her doctor claims that she needs to see the extent of intestinal damage. Does that make sense? You guys are great in taking the time to answer my questions. I'd like to find a doctor in Central Oregon who is "smart" about celiac disease but so far no luck. Thanks,

    Jan

  6. I was tested in Feb. IGA was 11(equivocal) and IGG was 5(neg.) but I had been gluten-free for 2 months. Dr. adjusted my thyroid- I was hypothyroid, increased iron, vit.Dand Calcium. I felt great for about 2months. Now I've started in with symptoms again but have remained gluten-free. I also have 2 daughters with celiac disease. I haven't found a dr. in Cent.Oregon who is knowledgeable about celiac disease. I haven't seen a GI but wonder if I should seek out more testing like the genetic tests or a biopsy. My daughter's GI in Portland suggests strongly she have a biopsy. Her antigliadin panel was positive in all areas. I really feel lost and without good advice. I hope someone has some helpful suggestions. Thanks,

    Jan :(

  7. I thought artificial color and flavor, including carmel, were on the NO list. I just read a list from NFCA(National Foundation for Celiac Awaremess) that had artificial color and flavor, carmel color, navilla, and maltodextrin on the SAFE additives and Ingredients list. HELP, I'm trying to learn and am getting more confused! What about dextrin as opposed to maltodextrin and modified food starch? Thanks for any help. Jan

  8. I have been gluten-free for three months. Most symptoms have gone away. Recently I used a scalf treatment and shampoo for thinning hair. The next day the diaharea, back pain, and headache were back. Could this have been a result of absorbing the wheat protein in the shampoo?? I have examined all the foods that were eaten and haven't found anything else that might have affected me. What else does a person need to watch for??????

  9. I am a retired schoolteacher, age 57. I've had 28 years of symptoms with various diagnosis, IBS, Ulcerative colitis, arthritis, trigeminal neuralgia, anemia, depression, high blood pressure, diahrea, etc. I have always been slightly overweight but have suffered many of the other symptoms associated with Celiac. My doctors always treated individual symptoms, usually with some form of medication to mask the symptom. After doing a medical d-tox through my chiropractor I felt hugely better! Then my daughter was diagnosed with Celiac. I traveled to see her doctor and had the antibody tests done. The results showed a "weak positive" probably because I had been gluten free for 2 months because it made me feel better. My dilema - should I go back on a regular diet for a period of time and have the tests redone or does it matter? I also have two other children that are having unexplained health problems. Would it help them if I had the confirmed biopsy or is that insignificant?:unsure: :
