  1. Endoscopy is not hard or bad at all. Out of all the procedures i've had done, it was probably the easiest. I had an early morning appointment. The nurse went to put the IV in me and couldn't find my vein, so she went off to find an ultrasound machine, where she then told me my veins were deeper than what a "normal" persons is. Easy peasy for a change! She...
  2. It can take some people years (yes years) to get better. I'm thinking you might have another food intolerence with this. Keep a food diery. Write down everything you eat, and if you see a pattern with the stomach aches then cut the food out for a while. Others on this site rave about probiotics, have you tried them?
  3. My first thought was hives, but you said non itchy.... A trip to the doc might be required.
  4. i ditto the cold chicken idea. what about carrot chips? or heck carrots that have been candied are reeeeeealllly good cold (same with apples).
  5. bartfull, i'm on the opposite side of the fence on that one. I bought some organic apples once and they gave me the worst belly ache ever. Went back to the ones i buy at sams club and no issues. I think it might have been whatever they used to coat it or something.
  6. blood tests can be inconclusive you may also wish to do the endoscopy for a biopsy. There is also a genetic test.
  7. Considering you were gluten lite, you were still getting some in. Furthermore, with the 8 weeks, it should be enough to see something imo.
  8. Yeah, i'm planning on it now. I've heard of olive oil and have done peroxide before. I was one of those kids that had ear infections every other week it seemed. It stopped once i moved away from FL. Hmmmm....
  9. I should be able to. Right now i'm still dealing with this cold, my ears are itching deep within and so is my throat. Ugh, I love you cereal for getting this started (it should be noted that i have no issues with milk or ceral, when i get sick like this generally my throat and ears itch). Its decreased to mostly my ears but still
  10. i've always been fine with them.
  11. Just some food for thought, its only been a week. Sometimes it can take months (or even over a year) to feel normal again. I'm willing to bet that those symptoms are lingering from your gluten-y diet. However, another thought is you are getting Cross contaminated. toaster, wooden utensils, scratched pans, etc need to be replaced due to gluten getting in there...
  12. Another thing is that in the US, gluten cannot be hidden in food products. So it'll be on the label if its there. Note, however, this does not include possible CC due to shared factories.
  13. Yep, with my gallbladder. Months of heck with ultrasounds from every which way (even this was painful then) and the blood tests came back normal. Even went to the ER once because the pain got so bad (and i was nauseous). Go to new GP and she says to get the HIDA scan done, and lo and behold there is my side pain problem. Another few weeks or so later it came...
  14. thanks I found out from another history professor of mine that the vice chancellor of my school maybe doing a memorial for my late professor. I'm planning on attending if i can. She helped me so much and i figured it would only be a good thing for me to attend. I'll be out of sorts for the next few days, no doubt. Times like these are when i really...
  15. kinda smells fishy to me, an intolerence isn't like an allergy where they can poke ya and get an idea if you have an issue with a food or whatnot. Far as i know, the best test is to eliminate the food that is bothering you.
  16. what is this sleep you speak of? Last night i got four hours... ugh... Today has been a somewhat bad day. Started off with a panic that my mail account had been locked (only to find out i put my name and password for my school email account into it instead of the right one, and somehow activated another mail account nothin will come out of it of course...
  17. Insist on the biopsy before you start the diet. Not only is it a good chance to look for any other issues, but it might give you an idea of what is going on. Genetic test wouldn't be to far off either.
  18. imo 8 days is no where near enough even for someone who has been gluten light. Its a very big possibility that your tests were false negatives. Get the genetic test. Not only will it help you and your son, but also any close related family members (parents and siblings).
  19. thanks Thats similar to what its like. I'll feel good for part of the day, then it unleashes itself. I refuse to take anything because my fever isn't very high (only 100+ is when i take something for that) and i'm not coughing up a lung. Sooooo.....
  20. Thats very bad of you, especially since you are dx'd. You gave into a craving now its gonna be a pain to get over the withdrawl again. Yes, i cheated, three times and then had benifiber for a while (ugh never again). The food tasted like cardboard. I couldn't finish it. I then got "C" really bad. As for the benifiber thing, despite it being labeled "gluten...
  21. Alright guys, this is the weirdest cold thing i've ever had i think. No coughing, clogged head, runny nose, mild fever, and somewhat achey.... I've had it for 4 days so far and its... grrr... at least its not messing with my balance. Lots of steamy showers, water, honey, and next to no sleep (downside of being a college student). I hope it doesn't turn...
  22. i was going to bring a humidifyer, but i forgot.... bahumbug.... I ate my soup... cooked it for about 3.5 hours this time and the meat was... still kinda chewy.... I give up I also have a belly ache... but i blame it on my sickness.... I want cold weather, this 60s buisness in late november is not good for my area.... we should have collected snow...
  23. eh, just avoid it imo. I'm as strict as i can be, but for part of the year i live with gluten eaters... there are times when i wonder if i accidently cc'd myself. I don't have major symptomes like some of the others (the big one is "C" and axiety), so sometimes its hard to tell.
  24. Nuts aren't all that uncommon to be partially digaested. The pulp? Keep an eye on it, if it keeps doing it, then i'd be concerned. I think part of your problem is the fact that you probably aren't fully healed yet. Just keep track of it for now, keep a small notebook or whathaveyou.
