  1. Actually, I'm not sure that is the " big question". I think the big question is why you are quibbling over the amount you can cheat with?

Yes!...Well said! :D I think MOST of us agree...DON'T CHEAT! Plain and simple!

Really people....do you need to be hit by a car....to learn NOT to play in the street...espesially after several people you've met ALLREADY got run over playing in the street! REALLY!...can't you just take our word for it!

Its allright if you don't beleive...stick your hand in the fire and burn it good! it hurts...doesn't it...see Thats why we told you not to eat gluten...because the end result can be VERY bad....sure you don't have any bad signs right away when you smoke...but many many years later...when your lungs are black(and it will happen) you get Copd...then empaseama...then maybe cancer! but its better just to take a lung cancer victoms word for it...this is the same thing! It might take YEARS before you know the REAL damage your doing....is that one krispy kreame worth it...because if you get away with that...it might be a slice of pizza next...maybe occassional cake...you might get away with it..once your gut healed enough..you might not even feel it...but its there, nawing away at you!The people with severe reactions are actually kind of lucky, because the reaction is SO bad they don't WANT to put they're hand in the fire! its the people who think they can get away with it...because the reaction is not so bad....your the ones who end up with a blown out intestine..or worse! you should take heed to those who have been there...some of these stories scare the crap out of me!

yeah its not easy...most things worth doing..(especially health wise) arn't!

Were not perfect..I cheated yesterday...and I'm itching like crazy...in a lot of pain...and it hasn't hit my lower intestines yet...that will be fun!(I tend to get hives)so I know its not easy, but after reading some ofthese stories...I'm thinking...what the ....am I DOING! IT WASN'T/ISN'T worth it in the long run...because they're right...no matter what kind of pain I'm tollarating now (my thinking was as I put that little bit of heavenly chocolate B-Day cake in my mouth) was what the heck...I'm only hurting me...no one else! but thats not true...when your family watches you suffer...when your in the hospital with severe gut damage...when you have cancer...or SEVERAL autoimune diseses...the list goes on and EVERYONE who knows you is affected in some way...a ripple effect!:) People...we don't want to steal your donuts...we just don't want to see you get hurt...like us...or people we know!

But you know the saying...you can lead a donkey to the river.....(I know its horse...but horses have more sense!)

  2. If you don't mind me asking, how did you come to suspect Nightshades? I've seen that a few times but never considered it a whole lot, one other thing, I am quitting dairy in general and sugar if I can avoid it totally, but it is some intense withdrawal I feel like an addict the way I want milk or something lol did you get anything like that? pretty sure one day off it and my back pain is already gone =/

I've been making eggs for breakfast for like, the last 2 years and the last week I don't know what it is but I've constantly left the burner on! going to destroy my damn cookware lol it's weird, I dunno how I can go fine for 2 years and then just start forgetting something so obvious, it's not like I'm rushing for something after it's made o.O

Its just that it got to a point that EVERYTIME I ate Marinara..Stuffed peppers...potatoes..or eggplant , I'd Get a reaction like I did when I was gluttened! Horrilbe stomache pain..instant bloating and nausia...usreally ending in me throwing up 5 minutes to 1/2 an hour later! It wasn't allways like that...but started gradualy mostly with tomatoe products at first...but when I became really sensetive right before DX and definatly after...it became more obvious! though I first thought I was being GLUTENED somehow! Then I read about night shades...even posted a thread asking about it!Thats when I REALLY understood the conection!I USED to eat this stuff ALL the time...but my Celiacs hit that saturation point....and now I'm sensitive to ALL kinds of things I wasn't before! Don't get me wrong...there were signs...Sometimes these things would make me sick...sometimes not...but I never put 2&2 together and allways thought it was SOMETHING ELSE!:rolleyes: NowI know better!thanks to my fellow Celiacs!:lol::lol:

And yeah...I've set a few fires in my new stove..(using the broiler)...I had 6 inch flames 3 different occasoins setting my tortillas on fire...I like making my own chips using mission yellow corn tortillas/olive oil/hemylaian sea salt...then eating them with Hummas(good way to get your beans/protien!)...but I've forgotten them while waiting and reading the forum...and yes They made a lovely flame as I pulled them out and extinguished them in the sink!LOL! I've left my keys in the freezer...sometimes can't remember the name of things (alot)...but its getting better,It just takes time! :P I don't know how many times I boiled my tea water away and burned the pot! LOL...finally we got a teapot that whistles when it boils...yeah its loud and annoying...but I don't burn the pot! If only they made one for frying pans!LOL!:blink::D

  3. I was so bad off memory wise that I often could not remember the name of things like "fork", "plate", "knife" & forget (ha-ha) about me remembering just about anything at all! What's for dinner? I don't remember. Did I check the mail today? What day is this? What day is this? What day is this? all in the space of a half hour. I couldn't remember diddly squat.

Fast forward to 6mos. gluten-free & I'm baaaack! I still forget some things but I haven't forgotten the name of a fork in a long time now. I no longer worry about coming off as an idiot half wit when talking to people now.

OMG...That is SOOOO true....My hubby just couldn't understand why I couldn't remember what I did earlier in the day...he was convinced I didn't do ANYTHING while he was at work! The truth was ...I just couldn't remember! Heck I couldn't remember what I had for breakfast...I couldn't remember if I HAD breakfast! I'd go all day without eating...then realize I hadn't EATEN by 5:00pm, when I was getting dinner ready! and that was years before everything got REAL obvious! right before I was DX! I so relate to the not remembering what a fork was....Ummmmm...you know ...That THINGY!...With the sharp points!

Or I'd stop and have a food related question for the boys while making dinner...and it would sound like this..."Ddddddd...ddddd....ddddo....ddddd...ddd...dddd...DO yyyyyu.....dddddoo....yyyyyu......wwwwwwant?DDDDDDo yyyyyu....wwwwwant? uuuuuummmmm....IIIII forggggot!"My God! I thought I was having a stroke!(It didn't help at the time I was light sensetive, my extremities kept going numb, and I was having chest pains and had had a migraine for 2 months straight!)...REALLY SAD AND PATHETIC....then my arm or cheek would start twitching or I would feel like passing out!(turned out to be celiacs/and caesin...the dairy was causing migraines, muscle seisures and hot flashes...go figure!)

I am SOOOO glad THAT is in the past! THINGS are SOOOO much better now! Still have a little trouble remembering how to spell words, and I have ALOT of trouble still with GLUTEN ATAXIA...my hands, calves and forearms especially! but MAN....things are SO much better by a long shot! you totally brought back some memories there!:D

One time I was walking and compleatly lost the feeling in my toes on my right foot and 2 toes on my left...gone ..it was like they compleatly disapeared...not tingly(that happens alot too), but disapeared like they wern't there! Trust me when I say THAT is rather unnerving!:rolleyes::lol:

But a Glutenfree/caesinfree/nightshade/soy free diet ( well mostly soy free...still rooting out the soy, it rears its ugly head in unlikely places...LOL!)...has made a WORLD of difference! and it will get even better when I can beat this malabsorbtion issue I'm sure!Still have along way to go....its only been since sept. 2011. My Doc says it takes a while especially since I have at least 40 years worth of undiagnosed Celiacs damage to heal(I can trace it back to age 6... when I had stomache issues/ fainting spells and severe migraines!....6 yr.olds shouldn't have chronic migraines or fainting spells! with all the bloodwork and catscans, they NEVER thought to test for FOOD allergies!) :( ....But that is a story very often told among us Celiacs! ;) ...Better LATE than NEVER!:D

  4. Oh noez lol not the sugar and dairy :'o I have these vicious addict like cravings for those, I was worried it was candidia for the longest time but then I told myself to stop being silly and admit I was just refusing to give them up...still haven't perhaps I should o.o but then.. I'm left with so little xD

 You have alot...you just have to explore new ways of getting it!...check out our FOOD thread...lots of healthy ideas there..lots of ALTERNITIVES! LOL! You can still have sweets just less refined! your body will get used to it after a while...the cravings will die down! Also...you may not have problems with alot of these things...but it is just a sugestion of what OTHERS have problems with! might not affect you..but it does give you an Idea if glutenfree doesn't seem to be enough!start by checking out the threads on NIGHTSHADES..our most commonfood sensitivity next to gluten!

Try eliminating one at a time...see what happens how you feel! Or like I did...pay attention to how you feel after you ate it...like potatoes...or Tomatoes(marinara,tomatoesauce)...Peppers,eggplant(makes me vomit now...didn't use to!)I'd get a horrible stomacheache and bloating...so now Idon't eat it and feelbetter! I substitute sweet potatoes( in stirfry, frenchfrys..ect.)and it worksfine...I actually like them better, sweeter less dry!Now that I'm more healed I seem to bedoing better with salsa and raw tomatoes...still havn't worked the nerve up to try marinara...I had extreamly paifull experience last time! But you get the Idea!Checkout the "other" food sensitivities thread...good place to start! Don't worry...besides Gluten...alot of sensetivities change as we heal...some don't...but Everyone is different...different symptoms...different sensetivities!Just Hang in there and get better!LOL! :P One day at a time!

  5. Wow...can definatly relate to all of the above! was so bad...I was stuttering! couldn't recognise streets in the town I've lived in all my life!...forget what I was saying or what was said as it was spoken! yikes!...but Most of its better...still finding OTHER culprets though...you guys know the deal!(for you newbies...beware Dairy,soy,nightshades...not everyone mind you...but alot of us have problems with those..for others its corn..sugar..frutose.) LOL! but it is getting better! I agree you have to get passed the malnoutrishon part though! I'm still severely calcium defeicent and vitemen D as well...causing joint and mucsle spasms muscle ticks, bone pain.but things are allways getting better!(the problem with malabsorption is you can take truck loads of vitemens but only absorb alittle...I think my gluten/dairy/soy free vitemen D's are making me ITCH!...just can't win!LOL!) But I don't lose my keys HALF as much...and I can compleate my sentences...LOL!THE FOG IS LIFTING! Hang in there NEWBIES!IT DOES GET BETTER!:unsure::rolleyes::lol::D

  6. I wouldn't worry about it...people can react to most anything and everything, especially if they're newly diagnosed.

I have no problem with either coffee or peanut butter.

    Sometimes I do...sometimes I don't! LOL! :blink::rolleyes::lol:

But like I said before...I just think when the TumTums sensetive...oils n' stuff is gonna iretate it! LOL!:P

HaHaHa  ...Most Celiacs I know...don't have ANY problem with COFFEE...LOL!!!

You GUYS are a bunch of COFFEEholics..LOL!!!! :D:D:D

    ....My self included...of course! :P

  7. No, there is no "chemical similarity" between peanuts and coffee and gluten. Please do not start that coffee thing again.

If someone has trouble digesting peanuts, it's because they are having trouble digesting peanuts.

If they cannot digest coffee, it is because they cannot digest coffee.

    That's it.

All right...but thats what I read! The site was pretty reputable too! but if thats the

stand this site wants, thats fine with me...but I was just saying what I saw!

And your right...sorry...God knows I don't want to start that COFFEE thing AGAIN! LOL!:lol::P Hadn't thought of that! LOL!That was a disaster! ...funny...but a disaster!:blink::lol::D

  8. I read somewhere that some celiacs...(not everyone...SOME), have trouble with peanuts and some other foods because the chemical make up of peanuts...(and suposedly coffee) are simular to gluten and when the body is all up in arms about gluten ( as in a flare up....Or when your trying to DETOX for the first time)it has trouble telling the difference bettween THAT and GLUTEN! (and will attack everything in sight LOL!):rolleyes:

Personally...sometimes peanuts set great...other times they give me a wicked stomacheache! But I allways thought it was the OIL in them that irritated my tumtum!

Same with coffee! most times no problem...other times wicked stomacheache...but then I tend to abuse my soy based creamer, and am developing an aversion to SOY!:o:lol:

I find almond butter to dry...it allways sticks in my throat and makes me choke!

I love almondmilk though...use it in Everything! Blue diamond sweetened vanilla (tastes like vanilla icecream and waffle cones) makes a great creamer substitude for my coffee!...its no hazelnut...but its not bad!LOL :P

Oh...and ALMONDS/almondmilk...has more calcium than dairy milk and more potassium! so its REALLY good for Celiacs...since most of us have to cut out dairy! :D

  9. Oh Cougie, I'm not sure if that would call for a congratulations or not  but it definitely calls for a "you poor girl."

    Thankyou...you too!

Note pics 1/4/5...that looks like what I have...especially after I've been scratching! Note the FRECKLES as well...and the small almost blood blister red cirles...I've been describing this for awhile! I get random little red pin pricks( like the red dots , only smaller. then they fade into freckles! usreally I have barely noticable little clear(skin colored) bumps...almost like acne only never any "head/pus" or nothing at all ...just insane itching...then I scratch myself to death...and my arms/shoulders/ back... look like the pictures!:rolleyes: ...espeacialy if I eat gluten or soy....then my entire body itches insanely...eyeballs...ears...fingertips...all the way to my toes...its nuts! I even get hives inside my stomache and intestinal track...feels like bee stingers!Doc says its Hives!<_< ...ouch! :P

Lots of scars...freckles...and semi healed round sores like acne thats been picked at to much!LOL...or like the pics! :D

It never "looked" like a rash....so I never "THOUGHT" of it as one....just REALLY itchy skin!:lol:

Costantly cutting myself open and bleeding everywhere!Skin moltled looking...between freckle and old purplish scars!EEEEWWWWW!:blink::lol: Is this what you guys are going through?I never really thought of it as a rash...at least not what I have....and it doesn't look like the pics I've seen under DH.But then...one thing I've learned about CELIACS is everyone is different! They should call it the rainbow deisese...because we seem to get every symptom under the rainbow!!! LOL!:lol::P

  10. At this point...when the disscusion involves Celiacs....ANYTHING is possible!

Persoally...I don't have those symtoms, but the teen across the street has "wheat allergies" as well as dairy...and SHE has SEVERE acne! If she eats gluten...her acne gets REALLY bad! My son has a dairy intolerance...and if HE ingests dairy....besides stomache and intestinal problems...breaks out severely on his face and back..(he's 22).

I've heard of others having a symilar reaction....Its quite possible to have a acne-like reaction to eating gluten...especially if your body can't handle it! :o:)

  11. :( Ok...So I'm looking at your pictures...thinking...hmmm...that looks familar! where have I seen that? maybe Hubby? He has mysterious rash problems...no...not hubby.THen I look over at my itchy arm...at the old scars and where I've been scratching again...and Damn!looks just like yours! !! So what you guys are saying is that THIS is what DH looks like!? I GUESS I HAVE IT TOO!!Great...I thought I was just itchy...from gluten...yeah...but not DH!wow...mark down yet Another symptom of celiac!

  12. Hi Cougie,

I love your post. I want to thank you for the great info and for helping me to feel better about what I am going through. Everything you said makes so much sense. I would tend to agree that I have been malnourished for many years. Two years ago I went vegetarian. I started to eat VERY healthy. Most times I will not put anything un healthy in my body. So, I always wondered, why wasn't I feeling "on top of the world"? I've always been super tired and sick feeling no matter how healthy I ate and how much I exercised. I have always had a terrible time losing any weight and I always thought it was because of the meds I was on. The first week I went gluten-free, I kid you not, I lost 6# (I am also doing WW). So, I am trying to look at all of this suffering as a blessing in disguise. Maybe I can finally get some kind of life back and get slim and healthy. I truly believe this is going to happen. Gluten is bad for ANYONE'S body, so I really don't mind letting it go. I think the trade-off is worth it. Don't you?

    Laura :)

Absouloutly...glad we could help! :D You hang in there and welcome to the forum! :P:lol::D

This group is great...full of wonderful suportive people! Wether you have questions...need to rant..(we all have bad days and theres no one better to rant to than a fellow celiac who understands EXACTLY what your going through!)...or just want to talk! we're here for you! :P

If you click on our profile pics...you can go to that persons profile page and leave a message...or if you want a more privite chat...click on "send me a message!"(in case you didn't know)...Its all good!..LOL!:lol:

  13. I Would like to say 2 things...First of all...as allways...great advice guys!!!

I don't know where most of us would be with out the experiance of others...so important with this disease!!!

The second thing...as a lot of you have figured out...is there are two types of weight issues with celiacs...both are cuased by malnoutrishion issuess!

Some of us are anourexic looking...but alot of us...(the ones the doctors say can't have it BECAUSE we're overwieght)... are over weight!

Alot of us CAN't lose weight if our life depended on it...( and for SOME...it does!)

Even though we workout...eat healthy...its NOT enough!I use to tell people...I don't eat enough!...I barely ate ate all at times...no appetite...allways bloated...diareha...constepation...throwing up all the time..migrains...itching...severe muscle and joint pain...all from years of undiagnosed Celiacs! But the reason I WAS fat...was because I couldn't absorbe my noutriants...the same reason others are sticklike...only because my body thought it was starving (which it was...)

MY BODY...converted and stored ANYTHING it could...into fat...the old caveman feast or famine mode!some poeples bodies do that...there are alot of malnoutrishened people out there who are fat!a lot of poor people...who can't afford proper food...so there bodys do with what they can...celiacs acts the same way!can't digest it..so we store it!

Also...just for the record...we thoughtI had MS for years...had all the horrible tortorous tests...and all the neuro could say was maybe...maybe not! but I had 97 out of 100 symptoms...awwww ....can you say...GLUTION ATAXIA!!!! ...soooooo glad I discovered the forum...and the wonderful doc who figured out what was wrong! problem was she diagnosed me...but kinda left it at that...(its comlicated)...everything ELSE I learned from youguys and the celiacs here who have simular problems! THANKYou!!! we are NOT alone! :D:D:D

And for the record...I just got back some blood tests...and found I'm STILL not absorbing right...which has left me severely vitemen D and calcium defieciant...thus the severe joint pain and muscle spazms...not to mention swollen gums..chipping loose teeth...fragile nails and hair...ect!He's got me on vitemen C as well for my imunity for good mesure...along with my usreal muli!:rolleyes::lol::D:P

The reason I brought this up...was because several of you...besides talking rash...mentioned Docs saying you couldn't have Celiac...because you were over wieght!I just wanted to say you CAN...and alot of us DO! Despite of what alot of docs think...it can be a sign of malnoutrishoin(I HATE spelling that word).....and thus a sign of CELIACS!:o:D (allso...besides brainfog...whichis common...alot of us have trouble remembering how to spell!!!LOL!)That and where we put stuff!!!...5 minutes ago!!!LOL!:P

  14. I thought that about the pizza parlor one, too. If she had brought a discreet lunch from home, they probably wouldn't have said anything. Instead, she brings in the McDonalds bag, advertising another restauraunt. Plus, I don't know how they could argue that the kid "needed" fries for his health.

Not that I disagree with either of you...I toatally agree...especially about "for his health"...but....

Coming from the mom side of trying to keep things EQUAL...she was probably trying to do something...special...so the ONE kid didn't feel left out while everyone else got pizza! also Ibelieved that they were OUT...and it was desided on pizza for THE GROUP..so she was probably compensating...alla "spur of the moment and what was convenient!

We've done that with my shellfish allergy son when everyone else is having shrimp...he gets asuper gormet burger of his choice...especially if we're having crab!LOL!

But usreally...there is something on the menu for ALL of our dietary needs...(all 4 of us have special diet needs)...or we just won't go!we'll find a place that suits ALL of us!of course when out with a group...like little leauge or a school event...you can't do that and sometimes(if you don't have time to plan a head)...have to compensate!

But she should have been more descreet...no mcdonalds bag...dump it in a plate..(or napkin) ditch the bag!LOL!!! :P

  15. Wow...AMAZING thread!!! :D:D:D

You are all very insperational! :P

That being said...Isn't it amazing how our pets know JUST the right spot to drape on when you don't feel well? I had a cat...weather It was a migraine(drape against my neck and purr)...a stomacheache (drape on top of my stomache and purr)...my back...or even celiac induced leg/foot/arm cramps...he'd find the EXACT spot...unprovoked...lay on it and PURR!!!:lol: And trust me...it wasn't allways easy to get himself exactly right either...but he'd keep trying till he was satisfied!LOL! I used to call him my little chakra tuner...because my body would relax and calming waves would replace the pain as I listened to his purring...I could feel it through my wholebody!Yes I'm greatful for many, many things...I could fill pages, but I thought I would mention my little grey Boo..(TWEEK-A-BA-BOO...to be exact)! Now I'm not saying he wasn't a little bastard at times...(most creatures and humans can be)...but I'm still thankful, and I miss him...sometimes! LOL!:P:) (except when he was peeing in my shoe....attacking my neighbors dogs...or pooping behind the couch in protest for me being mad at him for peeing on my bed I just bought!...stuff like that! LOL!):rolleyes:

When I was pregnant(13 yrs ago)...Both cats would lay on either side of my tummy while I slept(you all know a baby kicks the most when you lay down because theres no movement to lull it to sleep!)...but those two cats (Bosker,redtabby...and Boo,silvergrey)would lay on either side and PURR...conferting my son...while I rested!

Pets are so wonderful...In so many ways...definatly something to be greatful for! :)

Our latest big boy(20 pound Mainecoon) Moose is a big time draper as well. if ANY one is snuggling on the couch...he has to be right on top!And in the mornings...he wakes me up by trying to give my face a bath!...He has an extreamly ruff tounge being a long hair! He tries to clean my 13yr.olds bangs and gets it all caught in his mouth...its really funny...his heart is in the right place! :P

Sorry to go on...but several people mentioned PETS...and I couldn't agree more!

    LOL!!! :D:D:D

Infact...I even printed out gfindc's post as well as one of Irishes to look at later...I was so inspired! LOL!!! THANKS GUYS!!!Great thread...EVERYONE! B)

  16. I'm afraid I can't agree with that. In my opinion, eating gluten-free doesn't necessary mean you're eating healthier. Gluten-free bread and pasta, as well as any gluten-free processed foods are still.. processed and will have the same toll on the body as any wheat-based processed foods.

Eating healthier means eating natural foods (that don't require a label in order to know what they contain), and not overdosing on sugar, saturated fats, chemicals, coloring, preservatives, salt and so on. In my opinion that is.

There are people who have a cola and snickers for breakfast, yet are slim because their body type can handle it. That doesn't make them healthy people. I just don't measure health by weight alone.

I totaly agree with you Dani...I've been thinking this for awhile and wanted to remind everyone GLUTENFREE DOESN"T MEAN FATFREE!

I know when we are first diagnosed we tend to freak out alittle ...thinking omg look at everything I CAN'T eat! then when we see/find substitutes theres a sense of relief! But this is a GREAT oppertunity as several of you have said...to GET RID OF BAD HABITS AND EAT HEALTHY! This is not a loss...thats the CARB ADDICTION talking! once you give HEALTHY a chance...you don't even WANT those fattening foods...it will make your body feel bloated and slow. the right subs...from NATURAL sources are more satisfying and tastier!Eat organic DARK chocolate if you MUST...there are different GRADES which affect sweetness(if you like it sweet)its a GREAT antioxident as well...fruit...honey...dates...all sweet and tasty...much healthier for us.And if you don't know what to do with all these new found foods google celiac recipes...vegiterian recipes..or wonder over to the FOOD section of the celiac forum where some of our most CREATIVE members are TOTALLY willing to share thier expertese and best foodie secrets...not to mention advice! LOL! HEALTHY CAN BE YUMMMY!LOL! :P

(...and don't forget...that SUBSTITUDE we are using...corn...is also fed to livestock to FATTEN them up! EEEWWWW!!!!...LOL :rolleyes: ...just saying! :D )So even though we are kinda being FORCED to change our food habits...its not a BAD thing....WE can make it a GREAT thing by being healthier than we EVER have....(it may take a little relearning...but its worth it...AND there is a WORLD of great food out there...YOU just have to FIND it!) BON APPETETE! :D

Oh...and did I mention veggies...(I just mentioned sweets)...Veggies DON'T HAVE TO BE BORING...They just need some clever combos!...There are INCREDABLE things you can do to flavor up VEGGIES...you just need to LEARN! I've been seeing amazing dishes to make latly....I can't wait to try them!

  17. I'm 43, have 4 kids, and wear a size 2 (0 at Gap). Lost about 15 pounds after going gluten free and figuring out my multiple food intolerances. I'd love to add a few pounds, but I honestly struggle to keep my weight where it is. Sometimes I wish I could post on FB "So excited! Gained a pound back! Only took a week this time instead of 2!" or "So frustrated. Took a trip and lost 2 pounds" but I know that wouldn't be well received...

When I tell people I have to work hard to maintain my weight, I hear "That must be a good problem to have!" I am SO tired of hearing this! If it's someone I think I'll end up friending, I tell them more. Then I tell them how bad I feel when I drop under a certain weight and how it isn't fun to have to force eat more corn pasta with olive oil or potatoes (no dairy) or peanut butter. I tell them what I can't eat and how hard it is to eat out. After all that I usually hear "Wow! That must be hard."

One friend I hadn't seen in 20 years asked how I stayed so slim at the beginning of our conversation. I said "autoimmune disease." LOL! Not sure i'd do that with a stranger.

Can you eat HONEY?...If you can...google "health benifits of honey"...wonderful antioxident...great for healing the intestinal track...and its FATTENING! LOL!

Dates have great HEALING properties as well! AND will help you gain!...google dates!

They TASTE great as well! there is so many ways to put honey and /or dates into your food...or just srtait!

    mix'em with stuff!yummy way to get healthy...AND gain a little cusion! :P

(and personally...at this point I WOULD make the AUTOIMUNE disease comment to a stranger...it would serve them right for saying something! Thats just rude of them...how would they like it!LOL!:rolleyes::D

1)chopped dates and honey in your veggtable stirfry

2)chopped dates in your salad (fruit or regular veggie type salad)

Chopp your raw chicken up and cook it in a pan with chopped dates(maybe some mushrooms, a little garlic or some onion....celantro...Whatever sounds good, have fun with it) and a little honey...

I use it when I cook as flavoing....for my veggies, stirfry, meat :P (insted of bbq sauce or OTHER sauses that I can't have now!)

I use it on my chicken with a little Trader Joes parmesian(gluten-free) in the broiler after I'm done cooking it fora carmelized bbq effect!REAL YUMMY...and ITS HEALTHY!

I even carmelize apples dates and bannanas(bananas and dates atthe last minute) with cinnimon and HONEY...when my tummy hurts and I can't eat anything ELSE!:blink::lol:

  20. It's better than people taking one look at you and thinking they know what and how much you eat just because you're overweight, including doctors.

People think you're lucky because the media tells them the thinner the better (everything is about looks), and they find it hard to even comprehend the possibility that there could be any different worlds than the ones revolving around what the media feeds them.

Best thing to do is not take it so seriously :-)

But Dani...your so cute in your picture...its hard to believe your overwieght! But I TOTALLY agree with you Guys...people Just don't get it! they're SO judgemental!

I've been overwieght for YEARS and no matter How often I explain to my PARENTS let alone anyone ELSE..(this was Before I was dX'd)... that i was over wieght because I DIDN'T EAT...had NO APPITITE,and everything upset my stomache(I threw up ALOT!)...so I never ATE much...I knew I was malnoutrishioned...BUT noone BELIEVED ME!My Husband Still says I don't EXERSIZE ENOUGH ...workout like a marine...then you'll lose your weight! YEAH...3 to 10 push ups against the wall and ALL MY JIONTS get imflamed...let alone ANYTHING ELSE!LOL!Takes 2 weeks to recover...rediculess!

Don't get me wrong...I exercise within my LIMIT...and I eat healthier than I ever have now that I know whats WRONG with me..especially with OUR diet! I just can't LOSE WIEGHT!(I have bruises were the cat steped on my leg...and where my legs rested against the coffee table)....I have scars and bloody sores and scratches from itching...THIS ISN"T FROM EATING JUNK FOOD! I don't EAT junk food! but no matter HOW many times you tell people that...THEY JUST DON"T GET IT!Ijust can't seem to lose wieght!I am working with my Doc and we are going to do more blood tests for deficencies though...I bruise WAY to easy...and my nails ,hair and teeth/gums are suffering...we'll see.But I agree...(Other doctors have said in the past

    Your FAT...Lose wight...I say I don't eat...what do you want!...They say...eat !...yeah...big help!) :blink::rolleyes:

At least I am one of those people who carry my fat well...curves in ALL the right places! HaHaHa!!!:lol::D I'm GREATFUL for THAT! LOL

  21. I think I know what you're talking about. I used to get little red freckles on my hand but that happened very rarely. They're like small little red dots under the skin. I never figured them out. They never itched. When I googled them people were saying they were burst red blood veins from throwing up, only that wasn't the case because I hadn't thrown up. I assumed it was was just a reaction to something.

EXACTLY! only I get a few on my arm...then within minutes...thier all over my arms AND stomache! My Dad and his brother has had them on their backs for as long as I can remember! Its like watching the stars come out at dusk!LOL :lol:...pop..pop..pop! it tingles!

Then they turn brown...and look like freckles...takes months to years to fade away! WEIRD!:D
