  1. Hi painful sphagetti...I'm cougie23,I'm new too!! :D

Had to say HI...102 veiws and noone can say HI!....come on people!!! any way ...HI!!!! :P

I toataly hear you I've been suffreing fo years and taken so many tests and bloodwork and things that I actually have freckles where they've stuck the needle over the years...but all the DR's where searching in the wrong direction!I've been tortured with all sorts of Nerological tests (those tests are inhuman and would be concidered torture if done anywhere but under medical conditions!!!) I spent a few years on cruches (the pain was so bad)...I've had trouble with my hearing/eyesight...I have all maner on pain and numbness/tingling/sometimes compleate absence of feeling(thats allways fun when suddenly you are walking down the street and it feels like half your foot is missing(the toes one/or all)!!! I mean..compleatly gone...not just numg or tingly(but I get that too! or you just finish cooking a meal for company and as your bringing it to the table ...your hands suddenly don't work any more and release...and everything you just spent hours on is now on the floor in frount on your guest!!! oh yeah that was a memorable one!!! ;) Not to mention the brain fog...ocacoanal stuttering(when you've never stuttered in your life!!!this is a new problem)...fainting...swollen lympnodes..asthma..extreame sensitivity to touch in areas like the palms, arms knees wrists ,legs(put a pressure cuff on my arm or leg and I go through the ceiling!!!the latest...just before I was finally diagnosed was Chest pains, dizziness, light sensetiviy, motion sensetivity, severe arm pains(like being caught in a bear trap..litterly!!!) that was the first trip to the hospital...Anxiety and a bottle of zanex (because my heart was fine and they couldn't be bothered to look any further).

then 3 weeks later and certainly more symptoms later...I had a severe sezure( it was like being wrapped as tight as phyicicly possible in seran wrap over your entire body and then being put in a giant presure cuff and being squeezed till your brain litteraly feels like its going to pop out of the top of your skull!!! on top of that I was uncontrollably flopping around like iI was being teasered!!! it was rolling in waves and I had no controll but I could hear myself screaming IT HURTS>>IT HURTS!!! and the paramedics just looked at me!!! and asked if I wanted to go to the hospital? I was barley aware i was in so much pain!!!(this made child birth look like childs play!!! and that was exruciating!!!I don't even remember being put in the ambulance...I do remember them asking if I could walk outside to the gurny!! stupid idiots!!!I said no and they picked me up lifting me with my bed sheet1 then droped me on the floor of the living room to get a better grip to take me outside!when I got to the hospital I was screaming and uncontrollably flopping around again...so they gave me a powerful seditive and when the DR. fially showed up there was nothing to see...so she said it was either anxiety or MS...and sent me home with more zanex!!!(to prevent sesures.)..but the next DR. I saw the neuroligist rudely asked if I wanted to see a shrink instead ...I asked why would she say that and she said it was for anxiety and that I didn't have MS(she hadn't even tested me111)

long story short...I finally found the right doctor, got the right tests(and the nerologist wasn't the woman who diagnosed me by the way!) and am now on the way to recovery....fustrated...as you can see...but on the road to recovery( and definatly a lifestyle change)!!!! so hang in there...and WELCOME!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Dam typo's I swear I corrected those so why did they show up anyway!!!

But seriously...enough about me...how are you!! don't be discouraged we all have both different and at the same times common symptoms and we're all in this together...dispite the typo's!!glad you introduced yourself!

All these veiws and no replies...come on guys don't be voyers...say hello to the Newbies and not just painful speghetti...but the other Newbies reaching out as well!!! the moderators get busy...we're a handfull with all our questions...you others can help too...think of what it would of been like if you reached out for the first time and noone answered back!!! just saying!

  2. I wanted to finally officially introduce myself, as I have been posting and have been neglecting to do so. I'm Kelly, I'm 37 and live in VA. I just this year finally realized it was the Gluten trying to do me in after being so sick I thought I would die. Having stroke like episodes and visting doctor after doctor.

Being told by my Insurance company that I was too sick to apply for more Life Insurance was my eye opener that I needed to figure it out and quickly.

Much research later, after taking everything artificial from my diet, I finally took out the gluten, and I'm betetr! Better is a vast improvement over what I was I can tell you! Writing helps, as does a good sense of humor. I try to stay positive, be happy and keep smiling. Sometimes I even succeed!

  3. Sorry mushroom...

I googled it, and realised I was remembering a referance to bella donna(also a night shade) and also remembering a referance to the deathcap mushroom...I don't know how I keep mixing those two up in my head but this isn't the firat time!!!my mistake :( SORRY! I didn't realize it was a catogory( sweetpotatoes too?!...wow)...allways learning new things...thanks for educating me :D

  4. MUSHROOMS? NIGHSHADES? No way. The nightshade family consists of potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers in all their forms including paprika and all chilies, also tomatillos. NOT mushrooms, which are a fungus. :) I am not knowledgeable about the GAPS diet.

  6. Hi Vsferm,

I'm new too. As I've found out...when in doubt GOOGLE IT...any question you have, including if it's gluten free or" harmful/safe for Celiacs...sometimes you have to re-word it a little ,but theres all sorts of info...including older threads on Celiacs.com!!! LOL Thats how I found this place to begin with...I kept getting refered back to this site! also if you go to the HOME page (not the forum homepage ) but the real Celiacs.com you'll find a to eat/not to eat list. oh!! got to go...now!!!

  7. Nightshade????? isn't that a poisonous mushroom?!! serously....I'm not trying to be funny! this isn't the first time I've heard this referanced. can you explain what you mean by NIGHTSHADE? I'm/we're new! also can anyone explain what a GAPS diet is/stands for?? keeps popping up and I'm curious!? Sorry to intrude...but thanks!!!

  8. Welcome, Cougie! I had a hard time figuring out the signature thingy, too. On the left side above the place where you added your avatar, there's a place that says "Change Signature". Click on it and a box will appear that looks about the same as when you type a post to the forum. Put the info in there that you wish and *hopefully* the directions I'm giving you will work. :P

Oh and thankyou SYLVIA ...I didn't want to leave you out but appearently I did...OOOPPPPPS!!! sorry I do apreaciate your responce as well...Really! :D

    COUGIE23

  9. Hi Kareng,

I keep trying to do what you discribed...but it juyst won't budge!!!

I'm trying to put COUGIE23 in "Georgia text" with indigo blue on a "5" size scale but I just can't seem to make it work! I've hit "save" I've tried "canceling""undo".... It just keeps that bland little grey "cougie " up there...and there seems nothing to do about it. It says "saved settings" but it never saved what I had typed in just came up with this generic...and beleive me...I'm anything but GENERIC..LOL!!!

SORRY to keep bothering you...I know this isn't really that important...but I hate it when you have an option to have a little fun and the dumb computer just won't listen!!!LOL

    THANKYOU AGAIN...

    COUGIE23!!!

    p.s.

You've probably noticed by now I like "!!!!"

  10. Hi guys...(And girls)

I'm still figuring this out! What is my signature? Where and why do I need it/put it?!On my profile it says I haven't done my signature!? HUH?!!!

A little help please... it took me all day to get my Avatar right(I thought it was my photo and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't change!LOL)

    Thanks guys.

Also since you(moderators) are more experianced and I'm really in trouble here...do you have any imediate advice for not being able to keep food down because your stomache has had enough and refuses to digest...entire stomache/intestinal track feels like bee stings and open sores any suggestions for soft digestible food? (gluten/casein intolerant)Hungry and everything is making severe acid and gas... even the good stuff!

I was able to hold down some trader joes butternut squash soup(gluten free) 15 minutes ago...but want some advice from someone more experianced and can't rally wait!!!

  11. Hi everybody...

I'm quite new to this, but it bothers me that everyone seems concerned with ingestion only...when talking shampoo, but if everything I've read so far talks about wheat contamination and so on...what about absorbsion?

can't it be absorbed into your skin? why isn't anyone conserned about that!? We just bought this lovely bottle of Nexxus at Cosco...My family loved it. Everyone liked the way thier hair felt...except me!I was ok at first... then my hair just went limp and raggy, dirty looking within an hour(sorta wilted). I wasn't feeling that great either...then my 12 yr old pointed out that it had (Wheat) in the ingreadiance(I hadn't thought to look..being new at this, but he did...great kid!!!)

Also in the past I have mysterous tender sopots in my scalp(like bad sun burn without the sun burn!) I'm wondering if its ben shampoo related all along (and no...I ussreally don't get shampoo in my mouth) but notice my arms and back itch alot after shampooing!

Thats what I have to say about that!

So what does anybody hear about panteane??? I know the ingreadiants have changed over the years...several times...but I just bought some and couldn't find wheat on there any where..is it under a differant name? someone mentioned on a past blog that it had gluten( I read this after googling the question this morning and this cite popped up!)

This cite has been heaven sent by the way...thats why I desided to join!!!

THANKYOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR EXPERIANCES AND ADVICE!!!
