  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Sweetfudge - Miss Pizza no more!!! Pier 49 Pizza in Salt Lake City (248 South Main Street) has a wheat free gluten free crust you can choose. I had it for the first time Friday night and its EXCELLENT! Well worth the drive to Salt Lake for pizza. That is the only Pier 49 Pizza Company that serves the gluten-free crust at this time.

    Ignorant Comments

I was at Sam's Club the other day and ordered a hot dog no bun. The employee proceeded to pull out a bun to put my hot dog on. I repeated to her no bun and even had another employee tell her NO BUN. I was thinking just pick up the dang hot dog, wrap it in tin foil, and give it to me!!! No I am not kidding when I tell you she walked right over to me and handed me a hot dog ON A BUN. I looked at her and very politely said I asked three times for no bun and she said with a cute little attitude "Well what do you want me to do throw it away?" UGH!!! I told her i didn't care what she did with it but I was "allergic" to bread and could not have it even touch my hot dog. When she came back with my bunless hot dog she had the idacity to say to me "Wow sucks for you to be allergic to bread that must be really hard." I thanked her and walked away. Turning away from her I just wanted to yell at her and say sucks for me?!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW F*&*#$G HARD IT IS OR WHAT I GO THROUGH JUST TO BE HEALTHY SOMETIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for letting me vent. LOL
  4. I think I may have some sort of RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) I am trying to figure out if it only occurs when I am glutened or if it is just another phase of getting older. Does anyone have this problem?
  5. Does anyone else have this problem? I feel as though I am the only one! I'm about 60 pounds overweight!!!

Please Put My Mind At Rest

I am sure you will find many people to put your mind at ease but I will share my story with you. I was dx 2 years ago and have been very strict with what I eat. When my husband and I decided to have a baby we got pregnant on our first try. I was very well aware of the fact I needed to stay on my diet. My doctor told me that if I was malnurished the risk of the placenta seperating from my uterus and abrupting was very high. That is the major risk. I did fine the first 8 weeks then I just gave up. I ate everything! EVERYTHING! I couldnt help it. I work in Labor and Delivery and so everytime I worked I made sure I was doing okay and my baby was okay. I did have a pre term labor spell but did just fine. Long story short..........I gained 85 pounds. My daughter was 8 pounds 2 oz and is now 10 weeks old. She did fine and I thought I did fine to until now. I dont want to go back on my diet. My HD is ten times worse than ever before. I feel worse than I ever have. I now have to play catch up for 7 months of eating eating eating. Whatever you do, stay calm and do not stress about getting pregnant! Just relax and let God take control!!!

UGH!! I have gotten that one too! I wish there was a way to educate the public a little bit more. I am thinking about renting a billboard for a couple of months. Maybe my picture and a saying something along the lines of I'm Gluten Free - Don't offer me food, just your ear so I can tell you about Celiac Disease. What do ya think?

I have only been gluten-free for 2 weeks now. I am very strick - absolutly no cheating!! I am already sick of people saying so can you eat this, can you eat that, well it doesnt have THAT much wheat in it, dont worry, so like forever? And the worst comment I get over and over again is well, that "diet" you are on sounds healthy! You wont ever have a weight problem!! I should really try that. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I'm still in the I feel lost, I feel like a part of my life has died stage and I get those comments? No I cant eat it, no I cant cheat, no its not temporary......Take your bakers dozen doughnuts and LEAVE ME ALONE!! Really I am not bitter at all I promise. I just laugh! Oh annnnnd does anyone know where I can find wheat free licorish?

    How Cool Is This?!

I'm new to the gluten free diet and am VERY careful with labels and am still learning. This was a quick fun game to play, thank you!! I did not get 100 % but I did not do that bad either. I learned malt flavoring has gluten in it and didnt know that before. Thank you!!
