  1. So I had a blood test last week for Celiac Disease. I just heard back from my doctor. It was negative. I was eating gluten free for about a month up until about 2 weeks before the test. Then I started stuffing myself with gluten again. I know they say you need to be eating gluten for 4 weeks or your test could come out negative. But I thought if I ate as much gluten as possible for 2 weeks it might equal out to 4 weeks. I have so many unexplained symptoms that all point to Celiac. This has been going on for over 4 years now!! I have horrible stomach pain, bloating and cramps. I have diarihhea almost every day. My stools are always light colored (Sorry TMI). I have had a colonoscopy and endoscopy that came back free and clear of cancer and colilitis. I have GERD. I get headaches at least 3 or 4 times a week. I have horrible anxiety and brain fog. I have a couple of swollen lymph nodes that are not cancerous. I read a post on here that some others have had this. And they went away after being gluten free. I don't sleep well. I have infertility. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 4 years now. No luck with that. And I know it is me because he has a 6 year old daughter from a previous relationship. I have swelling in my knees sometimes. And they hurt. I get joint pain in my wrists, ankles and neck a lot. I get itchy sores on my scalp. I have lost a lot of hair. I am a 30 year old female. I shouldn't be losing so much hair. I was hoping that my doctor was finally on the right road. That I would finally have an answer to why I have been feeling so horrible for over 4 years. Now I am just depressed and more upset because I still don't have an answer. Any suggestions? This is so frustrating.

    First Real Gutening - Ugh!

Before I went gluten free almost everytime I would eat my face and chest would get really flushed. I have always wondered if it was an intolerance to MSG. It would happen especially after eating a lot of finger foods or fast food. Which was pretty much every day. Now I am eating mainly veggies, fruit, rice, beans. I notice it doesn't happen as much.

How do you avoid eating MSG. It is everywhere? I would love to eliminate as much MSG from my diet as I can. What foods do you eat?
  4. I thought that the chili I was eating was gluten free. Turns out it was not. Today I have a horrible headache, my face hurts, I am extremely tired and my chest has a flutter/tickle in it. Are these normal symptoms of being glutened?
  5. Thanks everyone! Like I said I have horrible anxiety. And I do mean horrible. My mother in law works at Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer center in Nashville. We had a family get together on Sunday night. My husband's grandmother had noticed how much weight I had lost. My mother in law then goes on to freak out and tell me that wasn't good and that is the first sign of cancer. Not what I needed to hear. Sent me into a major panic attack.
  6. I am going on a month Gluten Free now. I have lost about 15 pounds this month. I am overweight so 15 pounds isn't uncommon when I have gone on diets in the past. But I know this is not a diet. It is a way of life now. I was just wondering if it is common to lose some weight. Plus I have bad anxiety so I haven't been eating a lot anyways. I am hoping the anxiety goes away with time.
  7. I am on day six of gluten-free. Although yesterday I am pretty sure I had some gluten in the meal my mother-in-law made me. I have tried going online to different websites to find what has gluten and what doesn't. Everything is so conflicting. So pretty much my diet for 6 days, with the exception of yesterday, has been rice (plain), chex cereal (dry), lettuce, applesauce, bananas and apples. My family doesn't understand it. We had a family dinner at our house yesterday. My mother in law cooked and made something that had noodles, beef, cabbage, carrots and soy sauce. I told her I could not have the noodles or the soy sauce. Well she brought two kinds of soy sauces. One said on the label it contained wheat. The other one only said it contained soy. Nothing about wheat. But I told her you still have read the ingredients for hidden gluten. Well she didn't listen. She said it should be fine. So she made mine with rice instead of noodles and used the soy sauce that didn't say anything about gluten. I ate it. Just to keep the peace. I am feeling so down and upset today. I don't know if my family will ever understand. Especially my mother in law. She is all about cooking. I don't know what to eat and what not to eat. I am scared to eat anything with flavor because I read you should avoid a lot of spices and sauces. Is it always going to be like this?
  8. I have seen a lot of posts about different vitamins you should be taking when you go gluten free. Right now I take a multi vitamin, a probiotic and flax seed oil capsules. Is there anything else that is important for people on a gluten free diet to take? I am new at this. I am on my 6th day of gluten free.
  9. Just talked to Sandoz and found out the Promethazine is gluten free. Now just waiting to hear back from Kremers about the Omeprazole.
  10. There are 4 drugs that I take daily. One is Sertraline manufactured by Greenstone. I found they are gluten free on the gluten free list. Also Clonazepam manufactured by Mylan I found on the list as gluten free. I also take Omeprazole manufactured by Kremers. I have tried calling and emaling them with no response. Does anyone know if it is gluten free? I also take Promethazine manufactured by Sandoz. I take as needed for nausea and to help me sleep. I can't find anything on whether it is gluten free either. Again I have called and emailed. No response. Any advice?
  11. This is my second day gluten-free. I was wondering if there is such a thing as gluten withdrawal. Yesterday I was fine. Today I have been extrememly tired and lightheaded. And I have a slight headache. Anyone ever expierance that?
