  1. Hi, My son is 11(almost 12) and was diagnosed back in March and has been gluten-free for 5 months now. They believe he was just starting to get celiac disease and they caught it early since he was only complaining of symptoms 4 months before diagnosis. The trouble now is that he spends a lot of time on the coach watching tv and acts like he is...
  2. Thanks Kate. I am not sure if we have Ikea in our area. We are in Ohio and I have not of them before.
  3. That's a super idea for us Celiac families. We are also big Clay Aiken fans and since he is the UNICEF ambassador both parts fit in well for us. I am glad you suggested this early so we all can get prepared. Do we need to get special boxes or brochures or anything to collect with?
  4. Hi! I am ready to start ordering online for some food for my son. Any of you out there with experience I would be glad to get your advice. Which sites are the best for ordering gluten-free foods? Let me know about your experiences please! Thanks so much.

  6. What is an Enterolab? Her symptoms have gotten more specific and pronounced since the testing. Before the testing when she would complian of these things I thought it was just becase her brother was getting diagnosed and there was a lot ot talk in the house of tummy aches and such. He is doing better and she is still complaining.
  7. She just turned 6 and she had the complete panel like my son did. If she is feeling the pain then I think there must be damage and a scope would detect that. I made an appointment with the GI but they can't see her until end of Sept.
  8. My son was diagnosed in March and his younger sister is complaining of things which make me think she is developing it. She had the blood panel done in May and nothing showed positive. She complains of her tummy hurting, feeling like she is gonna throw up, burping and saying it came up in her mouth, and head hurting occasionally. Do you think she has it too...
  9. Hi Jim, From what I understand any Gluten is too much. We are suppose to be totally gluten free because ,yes, any amount of gluten, even a crumb, is going to keep damaging the intestine. I know it isn't what you wanted to hear but hopefully it will keep you healthy
  10. Hi, My son has taken apple slices to dip in natural peanut butter, Enviro kids rice bars, natural applesauce, frozen blueberries, peanuts and raisins, and yogurt with chocolate chips in it. Hope this helps alittle. Also Hormell Peperoni is gluten-free and that is good for finger food!
  11. He did have the gene test and he did have one of the genes for celiac. He had the biopsy done first it came back with some of the damage typical of Celiac Disease.

  14. Hi Joyful Dancer, I am new too and my son was diagnosed in March of this year(now my younger daughter is voicing symptoms). We use Smuckers natural peanut butter and put in on apple slices or dip bananas in it. My son also eats gluten-free bread toasted and then put Land O'Lakes butter and cinnamon and sugar on it. The Envirokids gluten-free rice bars...
  15. Thank you Merika for sharing your numbers and advice. There are still times I wonder if he really has celiac disease but they think he was just starting it and we caught it early and maybe that is why the numbers were only slightly elevated. It helps to have you "experts" keep us on the straight and healthy narrow.
  16. This makes it so hard to know where to go for correct information. It seems like there is no one source for all the medical information or maybe it is just that there is not as of yet any real concensus on how to live gluten free and keep celiac in check so that there is no damage in the small intestine. It's hard for me to know what is a problem because...
  17. What does Richard have to say? Is it good or bad? Richard.....?
  18. Thanks for responding. Is iodized salt a bad thing? I appreciate your help.
  19. Celiac Sprue Association puts out a Product listing book with foods of all types included and lists pharmacies and all kinds of things that help you select gluten-free foods and products. You have to buy it, but I use it all the time.
  20. Hi, I have been using the CSA Product Listing Book to help guide me in selecting food for my celiac child. What is eveyone's opinion of this guide and does it help you? What other ways do you select gluten-free food?
