    You would need to find out the cause of the leaky gut in order to repair it. Like most things...if you dont determine the cause and correct it....the problem will not fix itself. If gluten intolerance is the cause the gut should heal with removal of gluten and a clean diet. If this alone doesnt heal the gut then there is likely another culprit.....usually...

    York would be testing for IgG antibodies in the blood. Enterolab tests for Iga antibodies in stool. I'm not sure which antibodies York is looking for in saliva??     I dont have yeast infections in the "traditional sense" either. Even though I've got major fungal issues...I havent had a single yeast infection throughout my entire illness. I think I've only had two yeast infections my entire life. I think when the candida and fungal issues are high due to metals.....the yeasts are actually binding with mercury...

    Carla, A TON of things can do it. Its not always a matter of one thing pushing someone over the edge.....although it may seem that way. Genetics plays a role in how well a person can detox. Also, environmental causes, chemicals/neurotoxins in food, mold, stress, etc. As the mercury builds up over time it slows down the liver's ability to detox......

    Laura, Personally I dont think there is such a thing as gluten sensitivity genes. Like you said.....there is no real research/studies to support Dr. Fine's claim. I think anyone who develops leaky gut will become sensitive to gluten....even those of Asian decent with the DQ4 gene (the only gene not recognized as a sensitivity gene by Dr. Fine).
