  1. I tend to believe that yes, you do still get the autoimmune response from gluten intolerance when there is leaky gut. However I dont believe that gluten is causing the leaky gut on its own. I believe that many factors contribute to leaky gut and the end result is a gluten intolerance along with other autoimmune conditions and associated symtpoms of leaky...
  2. Nama...please be aware that there is no test available to rule out Lyme at this time. The bloodtests dont always detect Lyme for many different reasons. IgeniX lab in CA is the lab with the most sensitive test...its the best available. Other labs which Dr.'s use have less than 60% sensitivity and miss more cases of Lyme then they pick up. A Dr. who is...
  3. More about mercury and its affects on the body.. How Mercury Disrupts the Body Once it has leached from the dental fillings and infiltrated the body, mercury becomes a neurotoxin, says Dr. Klinghardt. Strangely, a neurotoxin is a substance the nerve cells voluntarily absorb, even though it is poisonous. They do this out of curiosity, Dr. Klinghardt...
  4. Donna, the skin burning can be from mercury too. When I posted that super long post from Dr. Klinghardt speech about mercury....that was what he had said about mercury.....that it can cause burning. I have burning too...its mostly on my face, shoulders and upper arms. I wonder whats up with the bug bite thing?? I never see that one show...
  5. Carla...I plan on more than 90% too. You're right...diet and lifestyle have alot to do with how much you recover. I think the point my Dr. was making is that I wont be 100%....and I cant expect to be exactly how I was before this happened. He said not 100% but somewhere close to it. He wasnt limiting my recovery to 90%....but he wasnt saying...
  6. When you develop a yeast overgrowth....especially one which leads to leaky gut you will tend to become sensitized to molds and yeast. This is along the lines of what I was saying with regards to Enterolab's testing not being clearly diagnostic of anything...except maybe leaky gut. For those with a candida overgrowth the tTG which appears to be elevated...
  7. Thanks Andrea!!
  8. I did for a very short period (days). I had to go back on ice cream because the veggies and other foods I was trying were making me sick. I was having reactions to them. I rememeber asking that same question on this thread several months back. I actually forgot the answer so when my Dr. said 1/2 drop......I had to ask him "How do...
  9. Yeah....I think my problem is that I wasnt sick for 31 years and then BAMN.....I was hit hard. So yeah....I'll definately notice if I'm not 100%.....but after all of the heinosities I've dealt with in a short time....I will gladly take 90% and not complain about the other 10%.
  10. Yeah....this is my understanding as well. A blood test is pretty much only useful in the case of an acute poisoning and in this case you would more than likely be hospitilized. The levels can remain high in your blood in a situation like this.
  11. I tried the frozen veggies a couple weeks ago...as an alternative. I only started out with frozen peas and didnt notice any trouble so went and bought several bags of frozen veggies. I'm still limited with what I can have though...I dont do well with certain veggies anyway. When I tried more peas I got mouth blisters. I did buy a different brand...
  12. If everything were working perfectly in the body and all detox pathways were functioning to 100% of their capability....we could detox alot of mercury at once and I could be starting out with a normal dose of IV DMPS. This isnt the case though...everyone is different and for some....one detox pathway may be working better than another and there are a million...
  13. Donna...you need something that pulls mercury out of the tissue but also binds with it so that it can be excreted. Just mobilzing it is not effective and can cause more damage. Cliantro mobilizes mercury but does not bind with it and allow for it to be excreted safely. Cilantro is not a good choice on its own and will just redistribute mercury without a binder...
  14. The test is around $350. It includes gluten IgA antibodies, tTG, malabsorption, IgA casein antibodies and genetic testing. As for getting disability with a Celiac diagnosis...I havent heard of this but I do know that Enterolab cant actually diagnose you with Celiac. Even if the test is positive for antibodies and you carry a gene...it doesnt actually...
  15. OK...back to the Aspartame questions. 4. What food contain aspartame? Since the patent has expired, aspartame is in a minimum of 6000 foods and drugs. You have to read the labels and not use things with artificial or natural flavors where they can hide the components of aspartame. Asapartame and MSG has a synergistic and addictive effect...
  16. Carla...good news!! You survived your first herx!! One herx at a time.....and you'll get there.
  17. I am another one who is skeptical of Enterolab's methods....and the reliability of Dr. Fines test. It is definately not diagnostic for Celiac....if you are looking for a diagnosis that is "confirmed". In my opinion, the diet itself is the best diagnostic tool we have available to us. Many people who test positive with Enterolab feel "somewhat" better...
  18. I just noticed you are 24?? You shouldnt have to be experiencing this kind of pain at such a young age. I'm sorry you're going through this and I hope you can get some answers soon. I did not want to mention Lyme Disease (as some people seem to get upset about it).....but your symptoms can be caused by Lyme so thats one thing you can look into...
  19. If you are sure you are 100% gluten-free....and it sounds like you are....then I would look into other issues. You can be continuing to feel bad for a reason completely seperate from Celiac. Many people have issues aside from Celiac and my bet is that you're dealing with a seperate issue if you've been on the diet 3 years without improvement.
  20. Andrea...I didnt forget about our chat. I just back from my Dr. appt. and I have the NDF now. My Dr. is still very serious about everything....not that its not serious stuff I'm dealing with....but sheeeesh. So I told him that mold and fungus keeps coming up as my strongest issue with BioSET and Anna wants to test me for the Aspergillus...
  21. Quick drive-by.....got my doctors appt. in 30 minutes. Andrea and Donna...I'll post the amswers to the aspartame questions when I get home. Carla...this is because in my case we are going by BioSET and ART and what is showing up as priorities for me right now. Lyme is not showing itself to be my main issue so we may not even need to address...
  22. I dont think mercury is the only thing that causes those "mad hatter" symptoms. I am pretty sure a toxic level of any type of nuerotoxins can lead to Ahlzeimers, schizophrenia and dementia. I think Aspartame has been linked with these as well as mycotoxin poisoning, Lyme, etc. An accumulation of any combination of these toxins can probably lead to the...
  23. Thanks NoGluGirl! You know that phrase "Mad as a Hatter"??? Heres an interesting story behind how that phrase came to be.....
  24. Yeah....I'm up too late. My mom and her hubby are on a cruise right now....till Tuesday. She is not here to make me go to bed.....I've been up late every night....and really late for work everyday. I feel kind of beat up. My mom would be very disappointed. She called from the ship today....to tell me she loves me. Ok...going to...
  25. Basically, it sounds like this guy is saying that leaky gut causes autism. I think with autism there is alot more involved. Leaky gut is definately an issue with autism....its the reason they do well on a gluten-free/casein free diet.....as well as a diet which is free of chemicals. I dont believe it is the exact *cause* though. I think there are several...
