Really cuz I've worked for Safeway for 17 years and I dont think we only hire graduates. In fact 3/4 of the baggers we have right now are challenged in some way...some even require on-site job coaches. I think they pretty much give anyone the opportunity to work there. They just want people who are friendly and willing to do the job.

Lister...what about working at a grocery store?? They're usually union and have good benefits......I dont think you would need to have proof of working toward a diploma either?? I work at a grocery store....we always need baggers and as long as you could pass the drug test they'd hire you and as long as you show up to work and get the job done...they'd...

I get really messed up with numbers...more so than with words. I cant figure out simple math right now....at work if I'm faced with this....I simply just make stuff... -

Carla, Were you able to read that interview with Dr. Derksen?? In the interview she states that in Lyme patients heavy metals are a significant issue. Most commonly found are mercury, lead and aluminum. Its not that we have to be munching on these metals to have problems with them...the metals are present everywhere in our environment. With Lyme... -

NoGluGirl, I'm really concerned that something is going on with you which will only progress over time if you dont start getting some tests done to identify and treat the problem. There is definately something wrong...I cant say whether or not its Lupus....just that you need proper medical testing. I stand by my belief... that the researchers... -

Yeah....my job is not nearly as fascinating. Bob, I think determination is one of the biggest factors when it comes to chronic illness. Determination, drive, commitment and a positive attitude is half the battle. It sounds like you're well on your way! Well...in that case...I am very impressed. Is it possible you are not... -

Carla...unfortunately its nothing like that. Its clearly intolerance stuff....it can happen immediately.. while I'm still eating the food. One minute I'm ok and the next all the blood vessels in my head are swelling, eyes blurry, face burning, tongue turning white right before my eyes...stuff like that. Sometimes it takes a couple days to build up.... -

Hi Bob Welcome to the board....and also to Ca!! I whole heartedly agree with your post. The medical community offered me nothing....instead of making steps forward I was actually taking big steps in the wrong direction. Having access to the internet and to alternative sources has been a "life-saver" for me. Almost immediately after stepping... -

LOL... Yeah...I think maybe he needs to "de-stress" a little?? Laughter is good medicine...I hope it will help. Although after reading some posts on a more recent thread....I'm thinking he might need another dose of the funny pages. I dunno....this is the second time I've been attacked by the same poster in a weeks time. I think... -

LMAO!! Damn....I wasnt really aware of my nerdliness until quite recently...I think it was lurking within?? Anyways.....call me a late bloomer. Apparantly, I do need the glasses and super sturdy shoes ....without them I seem to be mistaken for a mischief maker...gathering everyone who wants to rebel against science into my own private... -
Yup...I consider myself to be gluten intolerant (Non-Celiac). I really dont believe I would have ever developed this problem had it not been for the underlying issues. Lactose intolerant?? If only it were that simple for me.... Actually...I've got one heck of a leaky gut thanks to candida. At this point you can count the foods I eat...

I hate to say it but if they were "catching it early" in my case....I do not want to think about where I'd be if I waited for it to show up in blood. I think I was pretty much dying when Enterolab "diagnosed" me. I never tested positive in blood....I do not think I EVER would have tested positive in blood....because I am not genetically susceptible...

Jerry, I wouldnt worry too much about Kaiser as far as the results go. They arent the ones actually performing the labwork. They should have ordered more than tTG though. As Laura stated, you could be IgA deficient. You dont know because the test wasnt ordered. It is still possible that you could have Celiac....and its just as possible that you dont...

Aint that the truth. I could never comprehend why ink is so darn expensive....I mean its INK??? Am I missing something?? With all the printing of photos I do when scrapbooking....I would sometimes go through a color cartridge in one weekend. I was gonna need another job to pay for my ink! -

Donna I totally agree. Everytime I try to venture out into other threads I find I'm always being brought down by strife and nasty negativity. Today....out of nowhere I am attacked for being against scientificness!! Apparantly this conclusion about me came from the Rachelville sub-title "no scientificness here". So yeah....I guess that... -
ARCHIVED Why Did I Pay For A Gene Test?
Rachel--24 replied to JerryK's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Judy, I got a break with the ART testing. It was FREE if you can believe that. A wonderful person who's interest is in helping others performed the test free of charge. But yeah...there is a small fortune invested in testing and Dr. visits. I figure my health is worth it though. -
ARCHIVED Why Did I Pay For A Gene Test?
Rachel--24 replied to JerryK's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
All I can say is perhaps you should open a thread before you assume judgement?? Obviously you have no clue as to what you are talking about. I do not have a thread "in my name" which is against scientificness. Its quite the opposite...I LOVE scientificness and there is an 836 page thread to prove this. To clarify....the "Rachelville" thread.... -

Yeah...I thought you were kidding.....but just in case you werent. Didnt want you hunting me down for Enterolab money. Heck...I'll be broke anyway. By the time I figure out all thats wrong with me I might be needing a second job. . Ohhh...OK....they should have ran all the tests...especially the tTG. Anyways...Celiac or not...you... -

Rachel--24 replied to JerryK's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Judy....I was trying to figure out why the Enterolab test?? I was asking why you needed it since already diagnosed with Celiac?? If you got diagnosed Celiac then why the gene test?? Maybe you never saw my post?? I'm not anti-Enterolab and certainly not against people doing what they feel is necessary....but yeah....I've grown skeptical and I...
