I had panic attacks for years before going gluten free. I was diagnosed with panic attacks, anticipatory anxiety, and borderline agoraphobia...I even was in therapy for them. Now when I look back, I was given Xanax for the panic, and of course, Xanax contained gluten,,,feeding the monster, so to speak! I was on Paxil when I went gluten free, and eventually weaned myself off of it. My earlu glutenings were stomach/diarrhea attacks. Now, 9 years later, if I get glutened, it's all neurological with panic, headaches, anxiety, brain fog, nausea...then it takes me several months to get over it all...my last glutening took 3 months to get over.
If any of you are using Xanax, make very sure you are getting a gluten free product. Many of Xanax products out there contain gluten.
I rarely panic anymore, and if I do, it doesnt last long.

I recently read a post from a few years ago on an un-gluten related forum where someone mentioned that digestive issues had been linked to kids walking on their toes.
I have never heard this before.
Have you ever been tested for spastic paraplegia? This is a ligament/muscle problem. My grandson is now 10, and was diagnosed at 5 yrs old of this disease. He walked on his tip-toes from the day he started walking. His sister, my granddaughter has the disease too. She never walked on her tip-toes, but she stubs her toe all the time, wears the toes out in her shoes within a month. They also have balance problems. Angel falls all the time. There is special physical therapy they do, plus Scott had to wear special foot braces for a time.

I just went to their website, and this is their disclaimer, also listed as their last question in the FAQ:

Thank you Kathy. I have no idea why this was sent to me, but I have no intention of using it.
Thank you for replying.

Yesterday, I received a container of Benefiber in the mail. I find it questionable. The only ingredient listed is "wheat dextrin." It states it is sugar free, sodium free, and gluten free. It states there is less than 10ppm of gluten, so it's gluten free.
I will not try it. I feel if it has one ingredient, which is a wheat product, then how can it be safe. I also react to the tiniest amount of wheat. I was just wondering if anyone does use this?

I still swear by my Pantene. I get remarks about how pretty my hair is all the time. How thick and shiny it is, how good it smells! I must be doing something right. I have used Garnier too, but much prefer Pantene. I was told Dove is just as good, but I really do not agree. Aussie products are good too, their 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner is great.

I too find I can't tolerate tapioca starch or potato starch, which leaves me with cornstarch, which thankfully doesn't seem to bother me even though I have trouble with corn. It always amazes me how a food can bother a person, yet there are certain parts of a food we can tolerate.

as a rule--i think most celiacs have nausea, many have diarrhea daily, and some of us celiac3270--have weight problems i couldnt lose weight while eating gluten--my man used to ask me how i kept the weight on when i was eating next to nothing --he loved me then and still loves me 60# lighter i think there are as many symptoms for celiacs as there are celiacs deb

I think I missed this thread the first time through. I think my daughter may be dealing with this. I never connected her problem with gluten, although I do believe she needs to be gluten free.
Are you going to get tested for this? What are the tests?
Feel free to email me: darlindeb25@aol.com
Thank you, Deb
