  1. Let me know when you are going. I have a wonderful restaurant guide and perhaps one listed might be available to you.
  2. PLEASE don't be so hard on yourself. I have said before, that I have the utmost respect for mothers of cleliac children. It is hard enough to deal with the diet as an adult. I know that your burden is greater. Let today be over, consider it a lesson learned and go forward. You are doing a wonderful job and a few mishaps are to be expected. Give...
  3. I would very politely request something of the posters here When reading a lengthy post, I find it difficult to consume so much information in one solid form. My eyes cross There is so much information and many requests, that I seem to miss so much. I think for many, as well for myself, if the posters could break up their posts in several paragraphs...
  4. Regarding Gluten Guard, please remember that companies frequently change their ingredients. Relying on information for too long may not be wise. I found the best reliable information that I have found is learning to read labels and contacting companies frequently.
  5. That's a good one and I can relate. The dark circles are going away and all my friends are telling me how much better I look. Ah...no one mentioned anything when I apparently looked like crap.
  6. Stu: I just want to remind you that if you are considering testing for Celiac, you MUST continue to eat gluten, otherwise your tests will not be accurate.
  7. You are a good friend to care so much. I strongly recomment that she NOT stop taking Lexipro cold turkey. I weaned myself off of Lexipro in a week and it certainly was not long enough. She will get strange withdrawl effects like the feeling of little electrical shocks all over her body. And she will feel very strange. Advise her to start taking...
  8. Tanya: I am so pleased that every thing is going so well. I'll continue to keep your family in my thoughts. Lisa
  9. Criosa: Welcome to our world. First let me say that you doctor is not well informed. It is obvious that you react to wheat and corn. This is common among celiacs. Sometimes our bodies tell us more than the doctors can. If you want to pursue testing, you must maintain a GLUTEN diet. If you go gluten free, you will not have an accurate test and...
  10. Thanks Angie
  11. Lynne is one of the best story tellers that I have ever know. And 1/50th of her humor, I would die for (well, that's taking it a little too far). I'll forgo mine and enjoy hers. Lisa
  12. You all convinced me, although, never a pasta fan. Can you post an ordering web site? L
  13. Many times a doctor will view a positive dietary response and consider that a diagnosis. Taxes claims are not all that easy. You can claim the DIFFERENCE in cost between regular bread and gluten free bread, as well as other products that are gluten free. And accounting can be very difficult, but possible. Others have said, that might send a red flags...
  14. Kisses are ALWAYS good.
  15. Jerry, I hope that this will ease your mind. Many peanut butters are gluten free and La Choy Soy Sauce is also gluten free. There is "wheat-free" tamari available. If you react to peanuts or soy, I take my answer back,
  16. This sounds like a good Sunday project for me. Yummy!
  17. Good luck and I hope you get the news that you have been looking for.
  18. Just remember that it took your body some time to be damaged by gluten and it will take some time to heal. Some people here have felt feel better very soon after going gluten free. It took me about six month. On occasion, when I get glutened the brain fog and the shakes begin first. I feel very flumbly. About 24 hours later, the acid D begins. It...
  19. Lisa, How is you hand doing? And did you see a doctor? Lisa
  20. Thanks Laura, lots to digest....ohf, "patients, cure they selves"!!!!!!!!! Thanks Laura for you time and effort. I will study more in the am.
  21. Interesting Nancy, and looking forward to the results of the poll.
  22. Lynne and Dave have been sick with the flu and Lynne had a bad case of pneunonia and is recovering and feeling better. They are looking for a good sunny day to arrange the video. Lynne, you can chime in here......... Laura has done a great deal of work getting the letters in perfect submission. Thanks you so much Laura for you hard work and a...
  23. B: Once gluten free for a while, my night sweats went away. But remember, that I posted that I began peri-med. at about 35 and it lasted about 10 years. Well over that. I perspire, while I am eating and not from spice. It is soo odd. Frey's Syndrome. Maybe we dig too much on the internet. If we believed everything we read, we'd all be...
