  1. Through the processing, they claim that all gluten is removed, but they list for liability issues. Some here partake with non issues, others have issues and some just plain refuse. In my opinion, it's trial and error.
  2. Rusla: What time is the party going to start. I need time to chill the Champ. Lisa
  3. Gluten is a protien contained in wheat, barley, malt, rye and most oats due to a high rate of cross-contamination. They key to remaining gluten free is to learn to read lables. It's a tough ride for a while, but it gets better. Gluten often plays hide and seek, as it can hide in envelope glue, soy sauce, some spices, lipsticks, lotion, shampoos Here...
  4. Count me in for the party....someone has to keep me awake while Jim is asleep in the chair.
  5. On this home page there is a list of safe and a list of forgidden. That will give you a good start, but it is overwhelming. Nini, will post and you can click on her "Newbie Survival Kit", now that's invaluable.
  6. If she currently has an otherwise clean record, perhaps her attorney could reduce the DWI to a reckless driving charge. I love Nancy's answer though.
  7. All better now, thank you.
  8. I think that you are correct. It takes more consumed gluten for me to react intestinaly. But in the year and a half that I have been dealing with this, the slightest amount can effect me neurologically. We traditionally do a pot-luck Christmas Dinner and as I tried to eat what is known, I am certain that gluten slipped in somewhere. Since, I have been...
  9. I drink Seagram's 7 & and 7-up most of the time and have never had an issue. Potato Vodka is safe but you need to read the ingred. on your juices. For beer, try "New Grist" it is gluten free. As never been a fan of beer in the past, I am no judge to it's quality. Anheiser Bush is comming out with a gluten free beer in the near future... we'll...
  10. I clicked on a site to learn about what it was derived from and it brought me to a site about WMD's and how to......guess the FBI will be calling in the morning. Must get up early and dress.
  11. Polyvinyl Alcohol can be used in weapons of mass destruction..........so, dumb a$$, that I am, put it in my eyes.
  12. I know that gluten can only be ingested and some react to inhaling. But, could someone react through porous tissue as the eyes and get an alergic reaction, if you are celiac or gluten senstive?
  13. Today, I put some eye, re-wetting drops in my eyes, left over from my children from the holidays. Now, my eyes are VERY dilated and VERY blurry. So, read the label of ingredients: polyvinyl alcohol. Is it possible, that I had glutened my eyes? What do you all think. This is very odd. Lisa
  14. You know, I really admire all of the mothers with celiac children. It's darn hard to deal with the diet as an adult, but with a child must be so difficult. Often, you have to depend on others when they are out of your care, through working or otherwise. And they young little people will put anything in their mouth at any time. MY HAT IS OFF TO ALL...
  15. Can I crawl in your suitcase? , pleeeeeeeeeeeese.
  16. Add me to the Belly Club. I do have a large hiatal hernia, which I think is causing some issues. I think my stomach is crammed under my rib cage at the moment.
  17. Whoa, Cathy, I do forget sometimes that some of you are enjoying summer while some of us are chilly in our winter. It would be soooo strange for me not to get gloves, scarfs, coats for gifts. Although, it might be cool to open presents and then go to the beach. I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas....maybe some Margarita Mix with a new beach...
  18. Hey Chris, which one is you...on the left or the right? I've always wondered.
  19. What tickled you fancy from under the tree? Mine was a pair of Frey Clogs from Sundance, way too cool.......and the same bracelett that my husband gave me last year!!! (men )
  20. For Christmas I recieved a home made gluten free french loaf, from a well meaning friend........Well, took one bite and my husband and I decided to put it on the floor at the back door to keep the draft out.
  21. Another incentive: I had terrible lower back pain for three years. After several months of being gluten free, it totally went away and has not returned. I believe my pain came from inflamation of the small intestines. Lisa
  22. Was is in the ingredients?
  23. WELCOME BACK!!!!! We have missed you. I am so glad to have you back home. Merry Christmas to you Shirley!! Lisa
