  1. Hey Jen! I hope that you have a wonderful day, with Van
  2. Well then, buy a goat, buy a cow in a third world country and that gift goes on and on, in some one's name. I would be wonderfully pleased if someone would do that in my name. Glad to see you back Steve with your grumpy self. Cheer up, this is the time of giving. Lisa
  3. Correct, they are one of the good companies, as they will always list for gluten.
  4. Happy Birthday Judy, I hope it's memorable!
  5. Yes, we have a wonderful member of this board, who has done a great deal of research on behalf of the new people comming on board. She has created a "newbie survival kit". It will be a gold mind for new celicas. Please do a search for member's name: "nini", click below her name and you can down load a wealth of information.
  6. KatieMae: First a welcome into our world. I hope that you have been reading from some of our posts. They are quite informative. The celiac diet can be a frustrating experience; bread, soy sauce, envelopes, salad dressing, tooth paste, lotions, shampoo, lipstick and the list continues. To answer your specific question, most cheeses are gluten free...
  7. Sorry Lisa, out of my scope. I think it's a Canadian thing? Happy Celebrations! Lisa, too
  8. Renee: That is an option you may need to exlore. There are any people that post here that work in restaurants and do it successfully. There are always so many things to adapt to in a gluten free lifestyle. Of course you know not to get anything into your mouth, which you have indicated. As well, you wash your hand often. I think if you are aware...
  9. I should have posted this earlier: All the little pieces are coming together and they should be ready to submit VERY soon. It is a technical process and full of lots of detail. Hopefully, within a week or so, the whole package will be sent off and submitted. All of those who care or have written a letter, it is a gift that you bring. Thank you...
  10. AsH: I think that it is very irresponsible for your doctor to mention "all those bad" things without investigating. No wonder why you are scared to death. ....and on the phone as well. (excuse me, but he was an ass, with no bedside manner) I would suggest that you write down a food diary. Write down everything that you eat and watch for a reaction...
  11. I have been gluten free (96% with accidents) for 14 months now, and I can't function without my omeprizol/prilosec. My biopsy indicated gastritis, large hiatal hernia, and bluting of the villi. I suspect the the hernia is the cause of the gastritis. I suppose that I should get it fixed, but I be chicken.
  12. I am sorry to say, that I will have to ammend my post. I usually drink Seagram's 7 and 7-up without issue. During a Christmas Party 24 hours ago, I was served Jim Beam and 7-up.....needless to say, I won't do that again. Please be cautious this holiday season.
  13. Thank you for posting that. Swanson's Chicken and Beef Broths are also gluten free. (Organic Swanson's are NOT gluten free).
  14. Thanks, but my Dad wore a lot of hat in his career and it was wonderful to experience that. I was raise in Washington DC, or close. I worked on Capitol Hill when I became a big girl. (Now that, I can tell some stories !!!!!!!) But the Walter and Betsy story is ALL mine. Betsy passed away several years ago. But it was so wonderful to have them in...
  15. Have you checked your lipstick, lotion, shampoo and toothpaste? Anything that can get into your mouth will add gluten to your system if not gluten free.
  16. Are there any digestive issues in your family or your husbands. Celiac is genetic. With that question for you, I will defer to the other mothers with children with celiac. Hang in there until morning, the calvary will show up.
  17. I get soreness after I have been glutened, after the diarrhea has passed. But it is nothing like you have described. Perhaps someone will post in the morning. You know the board is always slow on the weekend. I hope you can find a answer.
  18. Jess, I am sorry that you sister is sick. I don't know how to help, but get the the DR. in the morning. Hope she feels better soon.
  19. I would invite: Barbara Bush, not politically, but because she is such a wonderfully strong, but down to earth woman. Don Rumsfeld, not politically, but because my father used to be HIS boss, and I had a mad crush on him when I was 20. (Shut, he was thirty-five and married, and he introduced me to the Prince of Saudia Arabia....so cool for me at the...
  20. KrisT: My issues are age related. I think that way Tiffany said about it being a GYN issue, and a professional opinion would be good. I did read here a few days ago that 90% of the fluids that we take in is through our small intestines. Perhaps, additional fluids may help a little. I do think that you need a professional to deal with this, and...
  21. Got a question: I have received several e-mail notations that someone has put ME on their friends list. Do I need to approve this? I changed my selection to "receive, pending approval". How do I accept my friends, and how do I add friends to my list. I do not see a way to create my own "friends list". Help BTW: Speak SLOWLY and ELEMENTARY...
  22. I am always looking for nautical antiques. If Ya'll come across any, please let me know. Thank Lisa
  23. I would think that a crustless quiche would be great. You can use Hillshire sausage, or Jimmy Dean ,cheese, chives (I do love chives), green peppers, mexican peppers........top with sour cream and salsa.......do easy, it's that time of the year.
  24. Scott: I was curious about the "rating" with the illuminated stars, in a members profile. I did not get passed my profile, much. Well OK, I looked at a few. What is the criteria for the rating? AND ALSO.... I posted this in the recent past. You need to publish a cookbook with all our gluten free recipes from this forum, to support this forum....

Sue: I know that it very difficult in the begining. As said, Pepsi and Coke are gluten free. I would suggest that you check "Nini", a forum member who has compiled a wonderful list for, as we call "newbies". You can down load the files that she has so graciously combined to help new celiac. You can find her name under "members" on the...
