  1. Mal: Here's the good news....the Celiac Sprue Association came out with a revised statement, "All distilled liquors should be gluten free, due to the distilling process." But, a warning, your tolerance will not be what it was before your were gluten free. Choose wisely.
  2. Dessa: When I was sick, with the yucky yellow stools, it also was accompanied by a GREAT deal of acid. This may explain the rash around his privates, especially if he is still in diapers. I would suggest that his mom check into celiac, or do an elimination diet. But, I do hope that he feels better soon. Lisa

    ARCHIVED New To Forum

Hey Wendy: Welcome to the forum. You will find a vast amount of information here. I do not have blatter issues, but you may try to do a search here on the forum. Find the search area and type in blatter issues. Perhaps you can find some old posts, with the information your requested. Just want to let you know that sometimes on the weekend, the...
  4. I would suggest that you e-mail www.Perdue.com and they will most likely have a "contact us" that you can click and request a list of their gluten free products. Most large companies will get back to you fairly quickly. I am assuming that you are in the US and most likely on Christmas break. That may be a good time to write some companies to get a portforlio...
  5. All of Boar's Head meats and cheeses are gluten free and the best that I have had, as well as Hillshire Farms. I believe Oscar Meyer is, but I don't buy it.
  6. I assume that you are an international teen , as going to uninversity soon. Try posting in the teen section. You will find more to join you and help with your issues. And, if not, we will be here.
  7. I do not know the answer to your question, but will keep it current.
  8. And there is your answer, thanks Julie. McCormick's serves us well and I choose to support them.
  9. thank you Jess, I always wondered about that. I now have a new wrinkle in my brain (learned something new). Lisa
  10. Blue cheese should not be a problem for celiacs. The bread mold starter is no longer relevant to day.
  11. I have a question for all our Jewish friends. I have always wonder what is the correct spelling of Chanukah or Hanukkah, as I have seen it both ways.
  12. Cheers to you T-bone, a star amongst us.!!!
  13. This is such a great post, I just wanted to bump it up a bit.
  14. Not me.. Isn't there a box to check to remember your log in password. Try that.
  15. Yes, there are many in the NOVA area.........With hopes they will post soon. (I'm a used to be, raised in McLean)
  16. Vanilla flavoring is now considered not a risk for celiacs.
  17. Sue: Welcome! There is soooo much information here to read. Try to read through these posts and you will find just about everything you need to know. Nini, a board member has a "Newbi Survival Kit". I bet that she will post soon with that invaluable information. Many people here, when they have begun their gluten-free diet, have difficulty with...
  18. Oh yes, it was not so long ago when I was panicked, struggling and clueless about Celiac Disease. This was my first experience on a message board, as many of you remember. Kaitie, celiac3270, Karen, Lynne, Patti, Judy, Mouse, Rachel, richard, Shirley, as well as others, walked me through this maze, and with their help, I found my way out. Many have become...
  19. Scatterbrain could definatly be a symptom, although I have several friends with this condition, who are not celiac. I would lump that into the "brain fog" symptom. I do remember driviing down the road and totally forgeting where I was going. And I would start a sentence and not remember what my point was and stopped in mid stream. The knee issue,...
  20. There is a little box next to the topic, that you can click on to see the new posts , something like "last known view", it was there before the changes....You can see your last known view.
  21. Judy: I can go back to MY spell check, I just asked for both to do the same duty, and my computer got confused. Sounds like I know somthin, don't it.
  22. Cassidy: I really don't understand your question. I had a endoscopy exam and biopsy which indicated Celiac with blutting of the villi, and after a two month period of being gluten free, a NEW doctor wanted to see what a Celiac Panel looked like, and of course it was negative. So, therefore, he is doubtful. (who cares!) I know that I did not answer...
  23. Lisa: I am sure that it is hard for you now. But the most important thing is that YOU know. Just remember how hard it was for you to learn how to eat gluten free, and imagine how difficult it is for people who don't need to worrry about it. Things will change, slowly perhaps, but I am certain that a change will come. Hang in there.
  24. This is strange.... I clicked "add reply" and I see it currently in the upper right. When I click on it, a pop-up come up , "ie Spell Not Detected. Click OK to download page"........so what the heck does that mean. This has also has unabled, MY computer spell check. It obviously is not working properly.
  25. Scott: The voice of confidence, lol Glad to know you're fumbling with the rest of us. Great Idea! Calling all computer literate Celiacs, please help us guide our way through the new options. "New Board Features - 101" (for dummies). New Thread, any takers?
