Ms.Lisa's Achievements

  1. I had heart palpitations & a high heart rate at 125 beats 24/7. When I was diagnosed with celiac disease & changed my diet it went away. Recently I was exposed to gluten & I got very sick. Could the palpitation have anything to do with that? I went to a heart doc & was told I have MVP & I have to wear a heart monitor for a month:( I only have 20 days 8 hours left to wear this thing, YAY! Anyone else have this problem?

  2. I am new to all of this.  i have been a vegan since 68 and my blood counts are always good with the exception of low vit. d which I supplement. I now have found out that I have Celiac disease.  I have been sticking to a strict gluten-free diet for about 3 weeks now and am dizzy, weak and nauseous.  I saw a dietician today and was hoping to get a menu but didn't.  When i look on line for a vegan, gluten-free menu plan that doesn't require lots of prep time and expense (I am disabled and on a budget, aren't we all?  :) ) it seems as if you have to either pay for the menus by joining a club or they are recipes that take lots of ingredients.  Does anyone know of an easier way that I could go about this?  IE How to convert my recipes, and where can i find a decent loaf of bread or a bread recipe that is vegan and gluten-free? Thanks and God bless!   :D

I am gluten-free vegetarian.  Open Original Shared Link  I bake 5 potatoes then put them in the refrigerator, each day I slice one potato into chip size, spray with Kelapo (coconut oil spray) add salt & toast each side & it makes perfect chips for the day & it's cheap:) I have lots of inexpensive ideas:) Hope this helps

  3. I have been diagnosed celiac for two years gluten-free since then. Prior to diagnosis I was tired, suffered malaise, diahreah all the time. Since I'm much better unless I've eaten somewhere (restaurants, friends house) and the gluten-free food given to me was either not gluten-free or cross contaminated. I usually react by vomiting a few times and feeling sick and sinister for a few weeks.

Today I did something really stupid. My daughter came in with a bag is cookies. I quickly read the bag and saw "flour free" . I ate one. About an hour later I got dizzy, ears bothered by noise, very agitated and then I began to vomit, usually it's volatile but over quick. This went on for an hour plus non stop. Bile, stomach pains, dizziness, weakness, flush. I asked my daughter to bring me the cookie bag as it was the o my thing I had eaten recently. It said "flour fresh". NOT gluten free. My sister is celiac also and not as careful as I am about cross contamination. They treat me like I'm faking these reactions. Does anyone else react as I do.. Has it gotten worse for u too?

Yes, I have the very same reactions.Last week I went to see my doc & every time she tells me "you are way to thin, you have to gain some weight!". So, I came home & started eating gluten food (crossing my fingers for no bad reactions) I had two meals & I went down hard with all the symptoms you have:( I also had a new reaction come up, 1 ulcers in my mouth & 2 on my throat. One of the worst sore throats I have ever had! Now I'm a week into recovering & finally able to get out of bed. YAY!  I will stay thin forever before I do that again!
