  1. I've been scared for awhile, but just keeping it quiet ... you know how it is ... Our diet histories are similar ... That's great that the cells returned to normal though ... marcia
  2. I was getting glutenned regularly ("D" every morning when waking up), but I figured it was just the new me, then I figured it was dairy, then I finally caught on about cross contamination after posting here about it ... DUH !!! The brain fog is pretty thick over my way I eat mostly whole foods, so it has been fairly simple to figure out ... I...
  3. Bummer ... I am trying so hard not to worry about the damage untreated celiac has done ... That intesteresting that they didn't find celiac damage ... how long after going gluten-free, was your egd ? What did they do about the growth on your pancreatic / bile duct, stomach polyp, etc ? Was that from untreated celiac ? I hope you are ok now...
  4. Judy, You too, huh ?? I had some pretty bad pains in my abdomen for a few days, so I got in to see a GI pretty quickly. The pain is not as bad, but it is still hard and very tender. My ataxia is still gone ... no more drunken walk ever ... YEAH !!! I still get the myoclonus (seizures) when I eat gluten though ... And my words were scrambled...
  5. I didn't ask in the first post, but I was wondering if others here have had a similar experience ... going on the diet, finding out it helped tremendously, then having to have an endoscopy afterall ... I've read that you have to be eating gluten to get a valid test result, but are there others here who had endoscopies this long after getting most of...

  7. Just a thought ... You can always take a gluten challenge and see how you do. I would only eat a little though ... Some people have problems with foods that are labelled gluten free too. 9. See, I believe it does make economic sense for them to produce a gluten-free product on a dedicated line. I certainly don't want eat the first batch made on that line after they have made something with gluten ... Anyone new to the diet may not respond to these, but later on probably will. We appear to get more sensitive to gluten the less we are...
  10. I've been having some pain around my belly button, so I had a CT about 2 weeks ago. It came back normal - YEAH !! Now, I am scheduled for an endoscopy this Friday to look for celiac and the reason behind the abdominal pain ... It's not as painful now, it just feels like that area is in spasm all the time ... I'm fairly certain it is from adding in...
  11. gfp, Thanks, I understand now why they tell you not to buy food out of the bins at health food stores too. I think the nuts I buy are safe because they are located in bins where you have to push up on a piece that slides up to let the product pour out untouched ... no scoops and noone can touch the nuts... I'll stop buying from the lower bins with...
  12. I'm looking for chips too, but I noticed this at the bottom of that page and wanted to bring it to your attention ... "Our LAY
  13. "I have been on a gluten, dairy and egg free diet now for 10 months and not much better. " IMHO Ten months is long enough to see some improvement from the gluten free diet. Have you looked into other food sensitivities ... Like soy and corn ? Shellfish ? Nuts ? MSG? Is it your digestive tract that is still bothering you ? Have you tried probiotics...

  15. Shirley, Thanks. I checked out the Kinninickickickckck... but they have a lot of other allergens in their products and I am still on the fence about soy, dairy, etc. I will keep them in mind though ... 17. Jayhawkmom, Thanks for replying .... I checked out enjoylifefoods and it is exactly what I am looking for. I didn't see any crackers though ??? And unfortunately, from what I saw, I would have to travel 45 minutes to find a place that carries them, but I'm going to check with my local health food store anyway ... Are the bagels any good ? Do they have...

How to cook millet, quinoa, buckwheat or brown rice - BE sure to rinse quinoa Place 2 1/2 to 3 cups of water in a medium pot, add salt, cover and bring to a boil. Add 1 cup grain, stir, cover and turn heat down to medium. Stir...
  21. I live in Cocoa Beach and am in the process of finding a GI too, so I can't help you there. I am seeing a new one locally on Monday and am in the process of being referred to Shands in Gainesville, FL. But here is the website for our support group. We have an excellent leader and all around group. I'm sure he will know of a support group in Orlando...
  22. Your doctor certainly has a way with words ... Like he needs a fancy CT machine But, I have to agree partly with what he said. Before I had ever heard of celiac, my daughter had some allergy tests done because she swells up on a regular basis. Anaphylaxis from time to time ... but mostly her face gets puffy ... The skin prick test in the...
  23. I am definitely one taco short ... I went to this website and couldn't figure out what to look at ... Open Original Shared Link ..................... Was I supposed to just go the other site ??? Copied in from renegade nuerologist site ... Celiac disease, may in fact be the most common disease of mankind, affecting about...
  24. Jess, I may have been feeling the side effects of this drug sooner than 7 months after getting the gluten out of my diet. But since I have been sick for 16 years and sleepy or dopey feeling most of the time, I would have chalked it up to my CFIDS. The only reason it caught my attention this time was because I was so drugged I couldn't hold...
  25. You look much younger than me, , I am 51, so you would heal a lot faster ... Have you verified that your pills don't have gluten in them ? OR you may have problems with the binder in the pills too ... Just some other ideas ... marcia
