This would indicate that not enough is really known about the subject to assume anything and the if there is an increased risk it's small one compared others.
    It's probably good they're setting up a registry, maybe we'll find ...

We are not in shelter in place mode yet here in MN but we have 77 cases all but 4  are in the Twin Cities and we're an hour and a half west of the Twin Cities. Luckily, about the only thing not getting sold out here is gluten-free items,...

Yesterday Costco in Santa Rosa, CA was completely sold out of gluten-free bread. I did find some at Trader Joe’s.
We are now under Sonoma County’s “shelter on place” orders, but many of us are used to this due to the issues we’ve h...

Actually all modified food starch made in the USA is made from corn. Please see our safe list:

Modified Food Starch can be made with wheat, but usually it is made from corn in the US.  If it contains wheat, the label must note that wheat is in the product since it is one of the eight allergens per the FDA.

As mentioned  if your immune system is actively fighting gluten having to fight a war on two fronts would make it worse.
IF gluten free I would theorize our immune systems would be stronger then most peoples I deal with my immune ...

Yes, it's well worth the 50cents a pill. I don't use it every time I go out to eat but I have it with me everywhere. I have some in my drawer at work, at home, and I keep a few in my coat pocket. So far since discovering this I haven...

    Hi,
This is one of the most recent peer reviewed papers that lists the many gliadin epitopes that cause an inflammatory reaction (see Table 1) and the author describes the reduction in immunoreactive gluten content by AN-PEP ...

I agree with @docaz , highly unlikely to get cross contamination from washing dishes in the same sink.
Keep in mind that no every reaction you have is from gluten. Many celiacs have issues with other foods that don't contain g...

Fenrir reacted to Scott Adams in Barley in gluten free cheerios?
It has been shown that a certain percentage of people have an intolerance to oats. It’s more likely that you are in this category than it is that Cheerios contain gluten to a level that would cause you issues.

Cheerios have been hit and miss for years, the mechanically separated grain does mean minor CC is inevitable but is normally kept below the 20ppm in testing. But some boxes to get hot spots with more and go untested as they only test...

I would definitely keep her on gluten until fully tested if it's manageable. I know I react to gluten way more harshly now that I've been gluten-free for six years than I did before I was diagnosed.

I would ask to be referred to a GI or ask to have and EGD with biopsy done.

Yup, and I expect most of those reactions happen because the makeup/lip balm..ect ends up in their mouth in inadvertently and then into the GI tract.

Fenrir reacted to docaz in Do enzymes help mitigate inadvertent gluten ingestion?
Celiac disease is very clearly defined and is triggered by the gliadin molecule leaking into the lining of the small intestine. It then causes an inflammatory reaction that then causes a multitude of secondary issues.
    That said...

Also, using mice doesn't eliminate the need for human trials as well. From what I've been told is that mice are great for a first line screening. Mice are smaller animals than humans (obviously) and physiology not quite the same. Many...

The short answer is yes, with only a month all of these things could still be a problem even if 100% gluten-free. I know many new celiacs get exposed to gluten quite often early on unintentionally due lack of knowledge too. It's also...

Fenrir got a reaction from cyclinglady in Celiac diagnosis
Only three months of gluten-free isn't enough time for many celiacs to heal fully. So if you were diagnosed with celiac disease you can continue to have symptoms for upwards of 6-8 months in some cases longer than that. Also, many people...
