Well, I'd eat goat cheese if I could, lol. I LOVE the stuff. I seem to react pretty quickly, so I just stopped trying. I can eat a little sheep yogurt if I don't eat more than 1 container a week. It seems to have a cumulative affect for me.
Yeah, I don't know what to say about the yeast and fermentation stuff. I seem to react to mushrooms, and that may just be because of my mold toxicity...doctor said I probably have a higher cross-reactivity because of that. I do seem to do okay with a SMALL amount of mayo or mustard which has vinegar. BUt, the way I understand it, it's not so much that yeast or fermentation feeds it, but rather it's the way it's processed. At least that's what I think I've heard, lol. Don't quote me on that though.

I hope the power surges don't last long.....or any outages.
We lost our power for about an hour this morning.
Hope Rachel is ok.
Me too! I figured out that my power was out for 2-1/2 hours. My mom's is still out...it's been out since 11:15 this morning, so almost 6 hours. Los Gatos (which is just down the street from me, lol) had wind gusts of 105 mph! The weather guys said that gusts of 110 can flip a car!
The highest winds they reported for my town was 49 mph. There's lots of debri (how the heck do you spell debreeeeee, lol) all over the roads. I'll feel better knowing Rachel gets home safely. Lots of flooding, trees down, etc.
The weather guy thinks the worst of the winds and torrential downpour is done for the night...just scattered downpours and possibly some thunder storms for a few hours. THe bad stuff is now where my sister lives up near Yosemite.
It's moving East!
I hope everyone stays safe in this crazy storm...aren't a lot of you guys expecting bad weather? I think we are (don't watch the news...lol) and I know my uncle in Lake Tahoe said they are. Keep safe!Yeah, it's been crazy all day here. I watched at work from my co-worker's window...just sheets of rain pouring down all day. The parking lot across the street looked like a lake.
My friend (that I travel with all the time) works in our Sacramento office and they actually lost power...she had to call me to test the phone.
The news guy said the roads to Tahoe are HORRENDOUS and is advising people to NOT go up that way if possible.
Okay, they just said my town has had 2.85" of rain today...that's more than we get in some whole months, lol. Some places around here got 7" of rain!
-
Just a quick drive-by...we're having a huge storm here and power is going out all over the place, so I want to get off the computer as soon as possible. When I came home my stereo was on--and it was on the radio part. I haven't had my stereo on in WEEKS, and I NEVER listen to the radio part of it so it wasn't just that I forgot to turn it off....I think there must have been a HUGE power surge. Kind of a scarey thought. I have a battery backup/surge protector on my computer, but don't want to push it, lol.
NEAR RACHELVILLE MEET-UP ALERT, lol. I saw Rachel again at Dr. S's office. Unfortunately, she was asleep! Looked pretty out of it, lol. Asleep when I came in for my shot, and asleep when I came out, lol.
Rachel, I was afraid to wake you...you looked so peaceful...not comfortable, but peaceful.
Thanks Sherry...I'll keep upping things til I figure it out.
Kassandra, sorry about the itching....so far so good with my shot, but then it didn't itch until the next day last time, lol. No bandaid this time.
Lisa, gee I don't know. Whatever that is sounds pretty darn toxic!
-
We just changed the dressing on my PICC line and it itches so badly!!! I am hoping that once I post about it, the itching will stop! LOL
Oh, hope it works as well for you as it did for ME, lol!
I'm leaving in about an hour for my next B12 shot, but I'm hoping NO itching this time since I'm not letting them put a bandaid on me.
-
Julie,
Well, you will just have to order ANOTHER kit!
Colleen,
Noooooo, we want you to play too!! Hope you get your stuff TOMORROW!
-
Andrea, great! I hope all goes well then for you (well all of us really, lol).

Paula, almond butter would be very good...as long as it doesn't have added sugar. My one practitioner says that almonds are among the lowest as far as sugars/mold, etc. She asked me how I was doing and I told her I had been "cheating" with almond butter and almonds and that's when she said that almond butter wasn't really that bad. Unfortunately not long after that I started semi-reacting to it, but I'm going to try again...maybe rotating my nut butters until I can figure out something better to eat.

There's not middle ground.
Me too!!! No middle ground, lol.
I am taking a probiotic that is dairy free, but when you read the label it says that it contains dairy and soy! I was totally freaked out because I am so ultra sensitive to anything with either of those ingredients. I have been on it for a couple weeks now and I have no problem whatsoever! A lot of probiotics will have traces of dairy in them.Yes, and I think the reason (at least I've read this before) why so many have traces of dairy is because the probiotics need some kind of sugar or starch to live. I THINK that's why sometimes you'll see rice or potato starch and/or diary.
-
DANG...they're going to make me WORK today. Harumph! I want to PLAY!!
In the meantime, I'm axiously awaiting my order{{{sigh}}} I don't even have an order coming, lol...I'm anxiously awaiting the moment I can press "Checkout", lol.
Maybe they should just come up with a special that says "Our Entire Line" and We Accept Installment Payments. That way we could all get every color and NOT have to make these painful (but fun) decisions.!!!!!
I have the premium foundation brush. When I used it for foundatins or blush, it seems to put the makeup all in one spot and then is hard to spead out. But it could just me my inexperience in dealing with these minerals. I'll try to use it for foundation again and see what happens. Maybe if I get out a margerine lid and can really do the swirl and tap thing (like your supposed to do) I can get it to work for me. Lol!Yes, I haven't tried the premium foundation brush YET, but it looks like it might have the tendency to put it all in one place. I'm used to a nice really fluffy brush for foundation, and that one looks a little "compact", lol. But, I should reserve judgment until I've actually USED it, lol.
Watch out ladies, I'm feeling creative. Good thing I have no place important to go today, lol!!!Look out!!
That's what is so fun about this makeup...I feel like playing and being creative. Never got that feeling with BE...maybe because I couldn't afford to get so many colors to play with.
Or maybe , we should all just take a field trip to the EM factory in AustinI'll put every single shade of blush on my face and I'll finally make some serious decisions!
FIELD TRIP!!!!! Crazy monster make-up cult thread field trip!!!! I'm there!!
-
I haven't tried the premium foundation brush yet...I'm still using the foundation brush I got when I bought my True Minerals. I really like this brush, it's got LOTS of hairs...looks a little like the eve brush but shorter hairs and LOTS more, lol. Gives really good coverage. I guess I really need to try the EM brush though.

Paula,
I follow one that my doctor gave me a few years ago. I'll look for the paper then post that. It basically says no yeast, sugar, fermented or aged foods, no fungus (like mushrooms).
There is so much conflicting information out there that I just decided I needed to pick one and it was easier to follow the one from my doctor. It seemed the most logical to me anyway.
I know my doctors (two of them) have said that I should have no more than 1 fruit a day, and may have to limit that to only 1/2 fruit per day. I'm going to try apples this coming week as my evening snack with some nut butter. Green apples are one of the the lowest in sugar (along with berries) I think, so I'll try green first. Bananas are one of the highest fruits in sugar, so that probably wouldn't be good to start with.
I'll look for the paper tonight and try to post tomorrow.

Sherry,
Yes, I think I can increase my Vit C and that might work. I'm only taking 1/2 a tsp every day (that's only 2,500 mg), so I can increase more. I have been taking one magnesium capsule per day, but that's not enough--I think it's only 133 mg and my doctor wants me to take 500 mg per day. Yesterday evening I took another kind too...it's a liquid form, and I think that works better for me. We'll see.
I can also massage the area. I lay face down on a fitness ball and kind of slightly roll back and forth. Besides streching out my lower back (which makes my chiropractor and physical therapist happy) it also massages the abdominal area, which sometimes helps in the bathroom area, lol. I haven't been doing this regularly, so need to start up again.
Beyond that, I'm at a loss, lol...it's been so long since I've had to think about this that I can't think of anything, lol.

YAY!!! Stuff for me to answer and NOT feel guilty about posting stuff!
Okay, so, today I'm wearing Multi-Tasking Foundation. I like this TOO...HOW CAN THAT BE, lol! So, my order of preference might be Fair Medium, Multi-Tasking, then Light Olive. Fair Medium and Multi-Tasking are almost tied though. I'll have to wait to see how the day goes with this before I make my final decision (until I try the next color
).
Hold the orders folks.
I'm wearing Photo Album, and I really like it. It looked so much darker on my fancy plastic margerine tub lid than did DVR Saturday, but it went on very nicely and it's not too dark. I think if I had any of the finishing dusts, I would have looked liked I'd been airbrushed.
I don't now know which of the three (Apple, Photo Album and/or DVR Saturday) is my favorite. Would it look odd if I did half my face in one and half in another.
Wait...maybe I'll do that tomorrow after I'm done with all my running around and appointments, lol.
I LOVE gingerbread man (the free eyeshadow special). It's a nice brown with a touch of pink or red or something.
It's got a lot of sparkle when you look at it in the jar, but it's a little more subtle on. I've got Pots'N'Pans on the whole eye area (from brow to lashes), then I used Nick Nack (which I think is too light for a blush for me, but I will try that this weekend at some point just to make sure, lol), on the lower lid from the crease down to the lashes, then I put the gingerbread man close to the lashes and under my lower lashes. The gingerbread man looks slightly smokey, but it's pretty subtle. It'd look fabulous if I had bothered to put on mascara (I may be feeling better about myself, but I guess I'm not to the point where I want to put mascara on at 5:00 in the morning
).
Question for everyone--I never liked BE eye shadows....they would kind of fly out all over when I tried to put it on the brush. I prefer to use my Smashbox eye shadows--they go on so smoothly. How do the EM eyeshadows go on? Are they like traditional eye shadows?I've used the BE eye shadows. The EM eyeshadows are packaged the same way. They are loose minerals in a little container with the shaker thingy. I think the EM shadows go on smooth, while I never had any problem with the BE shadows I think the EM might go on a bit smoother. I do basically the same thing with the shadows as anything else...I put a little onto my lovely margerine lid, the run my eye shadow brush back and forth through the minerals in short strokes. I blow off the excess, then put it on. I'm still using my BE eyeshadow brushes, but I'm sure I'll be investing in the new EM ones, lol.
So if I order another sample kit, is it wrong to get a foundation I've already ordered and know I like?Oh no, lol! I've done it.
Hey, you have to make sure you get the right one! I ordered the Olive Light in all the different formulations, and I think I ordered Fair Medium a couple of times.
Two new brushes just appeared on the website- an eyeshadow brush and a concealer brush
OMGOSH!!!! Going there as soon as I hit POST, lol.
Patti, I think your makeup looks niceMe too...I may have to look at plum dust again, lol!
I believe you now have the complete collection!
Pretty close!
So I emailed EM and asked if by chance I could get the free brushes on my prior order. I said I wasn't aware of the special and I was so close to $30, if I made another purchase could I get the free brushes????...........and they said NO!!!!!!!Harumph!!!
Getting OT for a minute. I really need to get this Christmas stuff put away. I want my house back in order, lol. It's starting to bug me so I guess I know what I'm doing today. Also, I need to vent about my car. It's been in the shop for a week and needed a tune up and oil change. The engine light was coming on so they tell me I have to take it back to the dealer for that problem. It could be a 100 dollar job or 600 for a catlytic converter. Also they found an antifreeze leak so 2008 is rolling in a a bit rough right now.
Oh Harumph!!! Stupid money sucking car repairs!
Mine was particularly sucky last year.
I'm basically LAZY, so my Christmas stuff is still up and I told my mom it might just stay up until January 31, lol, but I really AM wanting my space back, lol. I have a TINY condo and the trees (yes, more than one) are just really cramping my space.
-
Sorry the roux didn't work for you girls, lol. Try adding a touch more water....mine sometimes go into a big blob, and I add a little more water, stir, then a little more, then stir. If that doesn't work, then I just don't know, lol.
Well girls, I may now be joining the ranks of the C girls, lol. I guess the Humaworm killed off whatever bug it was that has been causing the D for the past few years...either that or the charcoal is doing it. Don't know...maybe I should try stopping the charcoal for a while just to see. I won't stop it permanently but if it's that then I need to figure out a way to counteract it without having to resort to ECOFFEE!! Hold me I'm afraid!

Hey, I see Patti.
Patti, you must post so we can all see your fabulous new avatar (what shades are you wearing in it, btw? lol
)
Yes, crazed monster make-up cult thread peeps want to know!
-
omg YEAH! LOL. My cart is full and I'm just dying to click on the purchase button!
I must have checked 50 times so far today just to make sure they didn't change their minds and offer a new special.
Crazed I tell you!

Here is a link that shows them:
Open Original Shared Link
ETA: I've never ordered from this place...this was just one of the first sites that came up when I searched.
-
I've only had them once, but there is a cookie called K-Too's that is just exactly like an oreo. I think it's by knikkinick, but I'm not 100% positive on that.
-
There is a celiac blood panel that can be run to check for Celiac Disease, and there is a lab called Enterolab that can check for gluten/casein intolerance via a stool test. I don't know of a blood test that will check for casein intolerance though.
-
p.s i was possitevely diagnosed by specialist (but never had 100% faith in his opponion)
doctors can be wrong ! - maybe he wasn't ,but its worth a go -
I don't know, it's so very hard to get doctors to actually diagnose Celiac that it seem unlikely he/she would have given that diagnosis lightly!
If you want to converse privately with someone you can try sending them a private message (PM).

Egads! Does anyone else feel like it's such a LOOOONNNNNNGGGGG time until the NEXT specials come up!

So basically Donna, something I won't know how to use and probably don't need?!?!?!
I can answer this tomorrow after I have tried to use it for SOMETHING, lol.
I'm currently using my two eyeshadow brushes I got from BE years ago--the one is double ended...one end has a regular eyeshadow type brush and the other end has a "cone" shaped brush...really good for getting close to the lash line without making a wide line and also good for the crease area. Both of those brushes are still good, so I've just been using them.
-
Oh Mango, that organizer sounds fun...if I keep buying at the rate I'm buying, I'll soon need something else.
(Okay, not really because I still have LOTS of room in my caboodles box, but I just like to buy stuff
)
Colleen,
Good thing I'd finished swallowing my water...your post would have made me spew it all over! So happy you don't have that Krusty look going on.
I think it's probably a good thing, lol.
Sheesh, I want your order to arrive almost as much as YOU do.
As far as what colors go together...I don't know if I can answer that...I think I'm an eyeshadow whimp!

After my epsom salt/baking soda bath today I wreaked of chlorine, anyone have this phenomenon??
...
I'm thinking since you added so many things, different supplements together in your roux that it helped the pectin not glob up as much, maybe?
...
How far away from other things are you all taking your charcoal, like a couple hours or more?
Nope, never had the chlorine thing...very strange and interesting.
Maybe, on the adding other things, lol. I'm trying to remember if I ever tried it with just the pectin. It seems like I did, but then I think I almost always at least mixed it with the C crystals first. The one thing I would NOT recommend is putting the pectin in YOGURT, lol. Now THAT was a disaster.
I've heard a couple of hours for the charcoal, but it seemed too hard to figure out for me so I just take it when I wake up in the middle of the night. I have a little cup by my bedside and I put 1 charcoal capsule in it...and I also have a glass of water there, so when I get up to use the potty, on my way back I just pick up the 1 capsule and swig it down with the water. It actually seems to be a really good time for me to take it.

Gosh, not that severe anyway. It might be a reaction to something else in the sublingual tablet. I take those too, and I know there's a couple of ingredients that normally don't sit well with me, but I haven't had a reaction like you described. However, I am going to start getting B12 injections instead.
I DO know that the last time I went to see my doctor he suggested the injections...I got one that day, but I had already taken TWO of the sublingual tablets...I asked the nurse if that would be a problem, and she said it shouldn't be, but that I might be up at midnight wrapping gifts...in other words, it might make me really hyper.
