  1. One other thing - you might be able to tolerate some dairy if it's only the FODMAPs problem. I discovered that many cheese such as cheddar have effectively no lactose. And my wife sometimes makes 24 hour yoghurt, which also has effectively no lactose. Those have been fine for my tummy.
  2. SIBO, microscopic colitis, probably celiac here (celiac's a self diagnosis, was gluten-free before getting tested). Now my doctor is suspecting hashimoto's due to low heart rate, so getting tested for that probably tomorrow. Anyway, I feel your pain... Low FODMAPs on top of gluten-free is tough...
  3. Do you have any more information on the genetic test you took? One from your doctor would probably be fairly accurate. But if you did a home test like 23andme.com or Enterolab, they tend to not give very good information for genes aside from the very most common. E.g., I know from experience that...
  4. I did once have a weird bump on my finger near my knuckle for several weeks, with associated joint pain (same finger on the other hand also had pain, but didn't have the weird lump). Doctor didn't know what it was, but I'm fairly sure it was celiac-related or at least autoimmune. Went away with time...
  5. Hi all, I've posted before. I don't have an official diagnosis of celiac or DH, but I'm fairly confident I have celiac and I think DH is likely. Anyway, I've been doing very well on the diet and my rash had mostly healed aside from scarring (dark spots); don't know if those will ever go...
  6. For the record, I contacted the company, and got this response today: " Thank you for your recent email regarding Nature’s Plus Products. Your concerns and questions are very important to us and we do apologize for our not responding to your inquiry in a timelier manner. In order to address y...
  7. I e-mailed Udo's Choice about their Flora probiotic a while back. They label some of their probiotics gluten-free, and according to the response I got, they all are gluten-free: " Thank you for the question. Yes, all the Udo's Choice line of probiotics are gluten free! They are not all certified...
  8. Hi everyone, I'm pretty new here, but I wanted to share... my wife has been suggesting I try garlic pills as an herbal antibiotic to help with SIBO. I've been staying away from them for fear of gluten (most of these herbal supplements are manufactured in shared facilities at least). Well, this...
  9. Hi dopaminegirl, Yes, I've only in the last few weeks figured out that onions are one of my problems... I get pretty awful unpleasant gas from them (my wife puts up with so much :-p). I was hopeful I could heal enough to eat more foods again eventually... glad that's worked for you before! Hopefully...
  10. Thanks, squirmingitch, for the hard truth. I had the vain hope of getting a diagnosis without making myself sick. But at least it's easy for me to stick to a careful diet, since I feel pretty bad when I mess up. The last attempt at a gluten challenge wasn't nearly long enough and did a lot of harm...
  11. Gray Wolf: Really sorry to hear about your issues Sending hugs and good vibes your way. Thanks both of you for the advice. I kind of wanted confirmation that I was doing the right thing, so I appreciate it... I struggle when explaining to people why I bring my own lunch to work or avoid restaurants...
  12. Hi! I'm new to the forum; just posted my story here: https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/topic/112414-microscopic-colitis-sensitivity-no-celiac-diagnosis/ Background: I don't have any official diagnosis... but I think I have celiac and possibly DH. Starting in my late teens, I had itchy bumps...
  13. Thanks so much for the response! My wife read it over my shoulder and was glad somebody agrees with her that the gluten challenge would be silly right now. So does it sound like possible celiac to you? Or maybe with the SIBO and MC it just doesn't matter... Our house is gluten-free. I'm really...
  14. Hi everyone! Long time reader, first time post. I believe I have celiac disease, but I don't have a diagnosis, and I've tested negative a couple of times (while gluten-free). I wanted to see what you experts think after hearing my story. I'll try to keep it short Sorry in advance for yucky details...
