I have Gluten-Free Baking Classics by Annalise G. Roberts. It has some great recipes. On her website foodphilosopher.com, she also has recipes for hamburger buns. I espiecially like the english muffin recipe. I think it taste better than the wheat ones.

I make the yellow cake from Annalise Roberts Cookbook. It comes out moist and high. In fact, it came out better than the cakes I used to make before going gluten free.

This is how my doctor explained it to me. I'm not celiac but I'm gluten intelorant. Which means I may be able to tolerate certain amounts of gluten before getting sick. I have the same symptoms as a celiac, but my villi doesn't get damaged. My doctor told me that I have to listen to my body and see what I can and can't eat. I can usually get by with a half a cookie and not get sick, but just a tsp. of gluten soy sauce, will make me sick for a week. It's just easier to avoid all gluten products all the time than trying to figure out how much I can tolerate.

I like the Hyvee's off of Barry Road up north. They have a section of gluten free foods I can't find anywhere else. They even started carrying Bards gluten free beer.
-
I just found a great website called Ulta.com. They carry all cosmetics from Neutrogena to Bare Essentials. There prices are cheap too. For a bare essentials starter kit, it was $60.00. Once you click on the item you want to look at, you can see the list of ingredients too.

Garden Botanika lipsticks are. The customer service rep. confirmed it. She checked every ingredient and made sure it wasn't made from any form of gluten. It took her a month to confirm that the lipstick was gluten free, but everytime she found out an ingredient was gluten free she would email me and let me know. Anyone who goes through this much trouble, deserves my business.

I was on all the antidepressants. I don't remember get hot flashes on trazadone but I remember when I went off of it, I couldn't go to sleep without it. My body got used to it and couldn't function without it, even though it's not addicting.
I was also told by my psychiatrist that there was a finding that people with depression do not have normal rem sleep. Normal people go into a light sleep after dreaming and wake up refresh. People with depression wake up after there dream mode and that's why we remember our dreams so vividly. I don't remember the exact scientific steps and explanation.

My cat is diabetic and on the felinediabetes.com, there is a list of foods that are gluten free. I buy the fancy feast ones, they like it better than the science diet formula.

I did all the above things, except water in the oven. I emailed Annalise Roberts, she said that as long as my breadmachine was gluten free compatible, I should be able to make her breads in the machine. I was going to try yesterday, but I ran out of yeast. So I'll try to make it this weekend in the breadmachine.
-
I just tried to bake Annalise Robert's Basic Sandwich bread. Twice they turned out as bricks. But everytime I tried to bake bread gluten or non gluten it always turns out this way. I am a bread baker failure. However, I can bake a decent loaf in the breadmachine. My question is has anyone tried to bake this recipe in the breadmachine? If so did it come out okay?

Murlene,
a lot of Avon products are gluten free. Whenever I find a product that I am unsure of, I'll email them and they normally reply back within a week.

I know the owner of the company. Next time I see him, I'll tell him about your post. Right now he is trying to come up with a banana flavored milk.

I don't have the numbers from my thryroid tests. The last doctor would never tell me anything. She just said it was normal. My hair is thinning on top, just like a man's head would do. I hate having my picture taken, because my shiny white scalp always shines through.
-
It's been at least 5 yrs. since I noticed my hair falling out. When I look in the mirror now, I can see the shape of my head because there is no hair left. I guess I'll go back to the doctors again. The first 2 doctors only checked my thryroid and said it's part of growing old.
-
Has anyone who lost their hair, had it grow back? I have been gluten free for a year now. I quit using wheat shampoos, I started taking selenium and my doctor says my thyroid is okay. My hair is still falling out. Is there any hope?

I have a cheap sunbeam. It doesn't have a gluten free setting on it, so I use the normal setting. I use Pamela's bread mix and my bread always comes out right. I like using the bread machine because it's so easy. You just dump the ingredients in and turn it on. I don't have to keep checking the oven and I can leave the house to do errands, come back in a few hours and have fresh bread.
-
Are you going to North or South Lake Tahoe?. I used to live in South lake and I can't think of one place that's safe to eat. The buffets might be safe, if you dare to try them.

I use the neutrogena self tanner and bronzer. I found that if I used it more than once a day I was getting itchy. But I think it was causing dry skin. After about an hour I would use moisturezer on my legs and I didn't have that itchy problem. As far as the ingredients go. I don't understand the chemical names to know if it has wheat or not.

I have not tried the gluten free pantry ones yet. But I have had the Mrs. Lepers hamburger cheese mac one. It was okay. Nothing great. It's good for those evenings when you don't really feel like cooking.

There building a new restaurant in Kansas city called Stix. I couldn't find anyone information on the website to see if they offer a gluten free menu. Has anyone ever eaten there before?

I make an alfredo sauce and pour it over mine.

King Arthurs. I don't have the website on hand. I just put King Arthurs in the search engine. They have everything. I ordered my hamburger pan from there and I use it all the time. I'm ordering an italian loaf pan next, so I can make submarine sandwich bread.
