  1. I did a home test maybe 5 years ago and was negative. After I got one of the variants on 23andMe, then decided to go gluten free anyways since I was a chronic migraine patient. I think I'm just not great at managing some parts of the diet to ensure I am getting all the nutrients and gluten-free carb options l really need, but the alternative is going...
  2. Just did a Google search on this and found this thread. Hope it's okay to still post on the topic/thread? l've been a member here on and off, probable NCGS. And have just had someone tell me "don't get so upset!" during a conversation due to this VERY shaky voice and cracking! It sounds like l am on the verge of tears, l promise l am not😂 I wa...
  3. Anyway, thanks for your answers guys. l wish l knew more about my family history on my dad's side but l've at least never heard of anyone being diagnosed with celiac disease, they do have a history of mental illness and he's severely bipolar so things like the drastic mood swings really stand out to me because l know it's something l don't tend to have...
  4. So it's like l sometimes can't make a fair judgement call if it's gluten or carb-binging which can affect most people, probably.
  5. Thank you! l will go gluten free and cut it all out regardless, but l was wondering why it would seem like only certain foods really having an effect, wondering if l was even really reacting to it or if it was just being carb-bombed or something. That makes a lot of sense. l'm also a bagel fanatic and l tend to really overdo it when l eat them,...
  6. Thank you. l actually saw that l had this variant on a free genetic health app a few years ago and wasn't sure how seriously to take it at the time. Then when 23andme confirmed it too, l definitely took it into consideration since l was already desperate to "solve" my migraine and the aura/ocular headaches for years. So l did the imaware test...
  7. Thank you. l'm in the process of dealing with going to visit my grandma in home hospice, so l haven't been letting myself jump too far ahead but from what l understand she has a few weeks. l actually reworded 'source of gluten' about three or four times because l wasn't sure how l should explain, but l meant just different gluteny foods basically.....
  8. I can understand your hesitation, I've felt the same way when it comes right down to it considering that it really is a life sentence. Here's the thing, l'm wondering if his wording betrayed what he may have been thinking in more technical terms-you may not actively have celiac disease right now but with the genetic haplotype, it's almost certain that...
  9. Hey all, l was actually going to post this in a NCgS related section but didn't see one-l'm pretty sure that's what l'm dealing with. I haven't been here in a while but I did finally get the 23andMe health data, so along with other some genetic tests l got the "slightly increased risk" result (DQ 2.5). What l'm wondering is for either celiacs...
  10. Ok add on here, looks like my full name was on the PDF so l tried to edit but wasn't able to, here's the values table with TTG and DGP results:
  11. Hey all, ETA: apologies for upside down attachments! Thanks so much for your help here. l did go ahead and decide to test with imaware just to be on the safe side but was pretty sure these results would be negative/ "less likely" although the scale they use is a little confusing so l took a look at the values. Are these pretty typical...
  12. Thanks, l couldn't get a screenshot of just the gluten sensitivity result ? As far as the coffee, it messes with me in general and l think is responsible for at least 75% of IBS in my case. For whatever reason, l was always under the under impression that NGCS wasn't something that could lead to Celiac disease and didn't realize it may share so many...
  13. Hi all, l'd been looking into the possibility of celiac or gluten sensitivity a few years ago and ultimately wasn't able to have any testing done so l tried to resolve what issues l could on my own (was very underweight) and have tried gluten-free on and off since then. l did notice some improvement on a gluten free diet as far as chronic migraines...
  14. l'm not a big clear alcohol- drinker but l've been sticking with vodka based mixed drinks. Most of the add ins are pretty straightforward (vodka cran should be hard to sneak gluten into, l hope). If you patronize some regular spots, especially chains, you should feel totally fine about emailing CS and asking any questions. ...
  15. Hello again all, And Happy Holidays! l did 23andMe reports recently (ancestry only). From what l've read about the health reports, there are more accurate services and tools you can use with the raw data, so l didn't purchase the somewhat pricey health report from 23andMe l used some free services and did pay 20.00 for...
  16. Oh my goodness, yeah, definitely did not have that. l thought it was just a basic dry eye test. l do but no dental problems or even cavities, my teeth have been my rock. My mouth is gross TBH so l'm not sure how, l'm drinking more water lately. l'm unfortunately a smoker (again) after being a non smoker for years. well, at least...
  17. Btw l dont think l had the ''Schirmer's Test'' unless that was the machine with flashing lights help up to the eye? No ''mm'' result or anything, but they called that an eye pressure test. No puff test now.
  18. Thanks so much. Yep, l always blamed allergies and my left eye as like an ''allergy hangover''. It took me way too long to understand that unless something is damaged, it shouldnt hang around that way when l'm reacting to anything or after an attack. For me it's primarily one eye which might be weird but IDK. My left eye is mostly...
  19. Thanks They did a few months back and l had the 4, D3 25K RX'd I so l am good there. l went into the underweight range so thyroid, D, potassium, and maybe some other things lm not aware of were screened for. The D and the potassium was low but all else normal. There are a number of causes, l always blamed allergies but after years...
  20. Hey! So l went to the eye doctor, finally, this week and got prescribed Resatisis. l am hoping it will work, l didn't mention anything about suspected celiac or possible dry eye connection. l was happy enough to have the doc confirm and get something that might help the pain and inflammation. l think being gluten free in combination...
  21. well, we're in sort of similar positions but can l ask what made you go gluten-free 3 years ago? You've kept the diet for quite some time so where the health problems serious? at the time was seeking testing not an option? For myself, l absolutely tried everything to gain weight after losing January 2017. By April/May l started wondering...
  22. Thanks. l may be over thinking starch, most sources say it's usually made from corn or potato. *mostly* But l (TMI?) did get my period early after posting this so maybe the headaches and general hating life was due to that:P l hate suspecting gluten for everything. Does anyone know how often pregelatinzed starch really...
  23. So l have some generic psuedoephedrine from Rite Aid without a lot number and no box. l called the pharmacy and asked about the gluten-free status and just got a phone number. It seems many companies make their generic products so without a lot number getting some info wasnt a direct process, l shrugged it off and assumed it was probably gluten...
  24. Not exactly but, when you have the rocking motion, does it feel sort of out of body? l really related to Awol's post. When l was about 5-9 years old l had what l thought were experiences being lifted out of my body. l think l told my mom once but l was an odd kid and l also told her l thought l could fly with kites outside so eventually l probably...
  25. lm pretty surprised they never thought about gastro issues or celiac. l was around 10 when my mom said the docs also tested for lupus! l am not a lupus expert by any means but it seems more rare in kids and l had none of the symptoms. This would have been '94. One of the first things l noticed after going gluten-free was wayyyy less pain...
