I have had a blood test and a biopsy which both came back negative for celiac disease. How every the gasto doctor said that I am gluten intolerant and that if i were to stay on gluten i may have celiac disease. Is it possible to be diagnosed with celiac disease if both tests come back negative?
has anyone here been in the same position as me?
I will also be tested by enterolab, so well see what my results will be. Is it possible to have a negative biopsy and blood test but positive result for celiac disease with enterolab?
thnx

I have recently been experiencing bloating and gas after drinking tea. Could there be a very tiny microscopic amount of gluten in tea that causes this???

I like to put soy or rice milk in mine with some stevia, mango and almond butter or tahini....
nut/seed butters are great thickeners and flavour enhancers! Yogurt ( either real or soy is great too!)
add some cinnamon or nutmeg on top!
Vanilla extract also is a nice touch or grated ginger or lemon zest..mmmm
Honey and maple syrup is yummy in shakes!!!

To your last question OH YEAH.
Took me over two months to feel better, but the acid poops stopped within a couple of weeks, but the D continues, even today after 6 months. Although it comes back when I feel that I have been glutened.
I took B-12 shots once a week for about a month and they really helped with the energy level.
We are all in this for the long haul. I don't expect to be physically and emotionally adjusted for at least a year.
At six months, I am now in a new stage. I feel very fragile, a little withdrawn, introspective and seriously in need of a self-pep-talk. I think we all go through stages. Take your time, be patient on press on. You will have up times and down times. In the beginning your are so busy learning and riseing up to the challenge. I still enjoy the grocery store as it is a challenge for me. There are a many bumps in the road. That is the real challenge.
I think that I am talking to myself. ....Hope this was helpful and not too down. I kinda feel that way today.
Keep on keeping on, that's the only way to go.
Thanks for your reply, and No, you are not just talking to your self, i hear you and appreciate ur support.
Thankyou all for your replies

How long did it take you to get your energy back and for the deadly fatigue to go away!!???
How long did it take you to see even slight improvements on a gluten-free diet?
How long did it take you to be able to go back to your previous activities that you were involved in prior to being sick?
Is just over two weeks too short of time to really see improvements?

I have only been gluten free for about 16 days. Before being GLuten free i would have awful nausea ( no vomiting), indigestion, hearburn, lots of bloating ( like i was pregnant with a elephant), gas, stomach pains, horribel fatigue, muscle aches, constipation, runny stools...SInce being off gluten i have seen some improvement. the symptoms are less severe. My mainn symptoms right now are fatigue, indigestion and constipation and runny stools and the sensation that i have to poop but nothing is going to come out. I guess that it is still too early to expect a complete miracle and feel 100%. Although i know i am intolerant to gluten, i had a endoscopy today and iam waiting for the results. I am also getting tested by Enterolab.

Does anyone here not ever have diarrhea as one of their symptoms of celiac disease?
I have runny stools but not diarrhea. I have constipation for sure but no D. Does anyone have these symptoms? Is D a main symptom of celiac disease?

Hey,
tommorow i will be having a biopsy aswell. I have had blood tests done for Celiac, and they didnt show naything abnormal. Althouhg, i have all the typical symptoms of Celiac disease, and every ailment in my life can some how be linked to Celiac. I am nervous about tommorow. If the results come back negative i will too be frusterated because I dont know what else all this disstress i am in can be caused by.

hey
I have suffered from an Eating Disorder (anorexia), this was about 4 yrs ago, and I am still recovering. I am not struggling like i was in the past, but i am still recovering. I am only 95 pounds and need to be about 105 to be considered healthy, i know how you feel. Being sick and all with Celiac doesnt make life and recovery any easier because once again food is the main issue. I try hard to tell myself that food wont make me sick and it usually works because its common sense. Eat foods that you know taste good and that you enjoy. Eat "Comfort" foods. Its hard, I know, but if you beleive that you will recover and will heal then you will do so.

Well, I've been gluten free (I think) for about 4 months now and when I started I felt awful. Tired, sick, just like crap. Then it got better. Then I think I was glutened by some stuff in my kitchen like strainers, tupperware, etc. and I changed everything now I feel like crap again, but my stomach is getting better.
Maybe your body does like a detox when it is really gluten free and that makes you feel like crap.
I don't know the answer but I know how you feel.
Diana
thanks for the relpy, i feel like utter crap

Open Original Shared Link
I'm going to get a box ASAP...
That is really cool, i want some for the holidays!!!
Challah (Egg Bread)(parve)
1 1/2 cups cornstarch
3/4 cup white rice flour
1/2 cup brown rice flour
1/4 cup tapioca flour
3 T almond meal
1 T xanthan gum
1 package red star quickrise yeast
1 t salt
1 cup warm water (120 degrees)
2 T dry potato flakes
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup honey
3 eggs + 1 egg yolk
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients in heavy duty mixer
2. Dissolve potato flakes in warm water, and add slowly to mixer
3. Add oil and honey
4. Add eggs and mix until blended
5. Beat on High speed for 2 minutes - batter should look like pudding
6. Spoon batter into greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan (I spray with Pam, and use dark Teflon pan)
7. Smooth top surface of batter using WET hand
8. Cover pan with plastic wrap (spray underside of plastic sheet with Pam so it won't stick to batter as it rises)
9. Let rise in warm place for about 35 minutes or until reaches top of pan
(I turn my oven on warm for 30-60 seconds, turn off, then use as warm place for rising)
10. Using fine serrated knife, cut 2 diagonal lines across top of bread about 1/8 inch deep (lets steam escape)
11. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes (cover with foil after 20 minutes if top gets too brown)
12. Transfer to wire cooling rack, rub top with margerine while still hot.
Enjoy!
Okay, this may sound like a silly question, but is there a way to make challah bread without eggs?????
