Hi! My father has been going to doctors for years with "burning feet" and test after test found nothing. He was diagnosed with neuropathy in his feet. Do you think that it is possible that all of this could be from celiac disease? Three of my kids have celiac and I am going to be tested myself soon.

Hi! I am new to this forum but I do have a child much like yours. She had ear infections very often, also developed asthma very badly. I did take her to an allergist because the pediatrician was treating the ear infections, but they would just keep coming back. The tests came back that she was allergic to wheat and we have not had her officially tested for celiac but as soon as we took the gluten out of her diet she has never had another ear infection and no more asthma at all. I am also taking two of my other children this week to be tested for celiac. They are both very small for their age (5%) and have various other health issues. It would definately be worth finding a good allergist and talking to them or a gastro doctor also.

Had anyone ever heard of a correlation between rectal prolapse and celiac disease??? My five year old just had an episode of rectal prolapse (very weird stuff!) and one of the doctors we know suggested checking into a link between food allergies and rectal prolapse. I did find some very scattered information in the internet but nothing really said much.
I have one daughter already on a gluten free diet, another being tested this week and now this weird thing that may also be tied to celiac for the third daughter!
I myself am constantly anemic but have no other symptoms. I guess that I will have to be tested as well.
I'd love to hear from anyone that has dealt with this or has any really good books or internet links that I can check before heading into the doctor's office about it!!
Thanks!

He has tried everything else so I hope he'd be willing to try this! He said he did have a blood test done that came back negative. I believe at the time he was trying to avoid yeast so therefore he was not eating breads, crackers, etc. so I'm sure that would mess up the results of the test. My sister is being evaluated for celiac also so I would have to bet that there is a pretty good chance that he probably has some form of gluten intolerance etc.
He's a tough one to convince to try it, but if the doctor suggests some more tests he's there right away!
Have a great night!
