Is your pain an all over constant thing or from time to time?

Jen....the pain comes and goes along with numbness in my legs and face. She is testing me for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Thyroid disease, Lupus, MS, Addison's Disease and a few other auto-immune diseases (are there even any more!) I am finding out that people diagnosed with Celiacs are 30% more likely to also aquire another auto-immune disease. I am fortunate that my doctor is championing for me....her sister is a diagnosed celiac. So I know she knows....I really am not crazy, even though that is how I feel right now.

Not sure where I would be without this message board. Sure is tough to stay positive when you feel like crap.

Thanks for all of the good advice on the aching back pain....couldn't stand the pain so I went to the docs and now am being tested for Lupus, Thyroid Disease and also Arthritis..more auto immune diseases. She doesn't seem to think that it (the pain in my back and joints) is due to Celiac disease. I have to say so far I have been lucky with my doc as her sister is a diagnosed Celiac....so I have faith. If anyone out there can shed light on these other problems, please post. I will let all know the results when they come back.

Can anyone offer me any advice on what to take to help with my aching body?

I woke up this morning and felt like I couldn't get out of bed because someone hit me across the lower back with a baseball bat....my whole body hurts!!!!!!!!! ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is aweful when you're 38 years old and feel like an 80 year old woman. I have been taking tylenol rapid release and had no idea that it had gluten in it...it wasn't listed on the label. Does anyone have a list of over the counter medicines with gluten in it? This whole thing is such a vicious cycle it is hard to stay positive!

Rusla- That's awesome. When you come up with your own line let us know! It would be great to have custom made body products. Or if you want to share how you do it, that would be great.

I too will NOT purchase anything (body/cosmetic wise) that does not list ingerdients. when I first went gluten-free I gave away a lot of my stuff to friends because I wasn't going to touch it. Some companies that clearly list gluten are Neutrogena, Dove and Burt's Bees. I absolutely love Burt's Bees and it's been popping up everywhere lately- even my local New hampshire grocery store has a huge rack of their products (including makeup).

Does anyone know if Mary Kay products have gluten in them? Preferably the make up and skin care line?

I have been using it for over 20 years and so far it has not bothered me...but I am curious if anyone knows.

Hi Chris...I am from Brewer Maine and am 38. I was diagnosed last week with Celiacs disease.

I do not know anyone from Maine with this disease. I am still in shock...as I love to eat!

If you have any tips for me that would be great:)
