DW and I have cruised twice now with Holland America, and have had no problems with my gluten-free diet. They were more than helpful, and even baked my a gluten-free birthday cake
It was VERY good and not nearly as dense as some other baking can be.
I would think that almost any cruise line would be able to accommodate the gluten-free diet and almost any other restriction we can have woth our sundry of food in tolerances. Ask your travel agent, or, one you are booked on a cruise, call SHIP SERVICES directly and they will be able to help you.

Well, some good news. And hello
We just found out that in less than 2 months, I am moving with the family to Cape Cod.
We're both very excited and are looking forward to the adventure. I'll keep you all updated as we go.

Well...back from over a month away from my forums. I've been lurking, but since things blew up here, I needed some time.
It seems we've all been busy around here. I hope you are all well, and am diving in to try and get caught up.

New Bakery out of Regina, SK, Canada. Oatstanding Bakery makes gluten-free products that are being sold here where we buy the rest of our gluten-free products.
They use oats that are being kept gluten-free from right from the time they are planted. This company was started by the same people who bring us Only Oats, which also makes muffin and cookie mixes, spice mixes etc. Their goal is to try and allow people with a gluten intolerance to enjoy oats again.
My wife purchased some of the muffins on our last trip to the store, and they are AWESOME. Moist and full of flavor, and they don't make me sick which is the best part. Hopefully, if they are a huge hit, they will be marketed other places as well.

"People with wet wax have more body odour, as they tend to sweat more. It is therefore reasonable to assume that people with dry earwax are sexually more attractive or have more sex appeal on account of reduced sweat and body odour. "
So...wat if one ear is wet and the other is dry?
But without all the strife caused by men, where would all the fun be?What strife? It's called 'making life interesting.'

We are. It's about 15 feet from the back door. Step right off the back deck an in. We keep it at about 103 in the winter, and down to 100-101 in the summer. It may not be every night as the wind would freeze us to the ground some nights, but any night we can, we are out there.

Detention does not even work. Nothing works. We're to the point where he is no more than a boarder in our home. We are almost positive he will move out on his 16th B-Day. At which point he is the provinces problem. We have detached ourselves as much as possible.
I feel bad because I was the one who used to try and give him the benefit of the doubt and trust him. This past weekend, he not only lost that trust, he blew it up. I will have a hard time EVER believing a word that comes out his his mouth.
At the same time, since he's moved in (spent the last year at my MIL's) things have been chaos. my wife and I are fighting more, and our poor daughter, she oblivious to the whole thing thank God..
Sorry for venting, but I'm at a loss here

Uncle Ray has noticed the tumbleweeds in Psillyville so he sent this:
'What a coincidence!'
HAHAHAHA!!
It's been a long time since I could laugh like that. It hasn't been very psillie in my house for a few weeks. We've been having HUGE problems with our son.
Thanks for the laugh

We have a hot tub, and use it almost nightly. Not only is it good for the hydrotherapy aspect, but we get to spend some time together, look up at the stars and just talk.
For my back, and my DWs arms (She an RMT) we use it. It's also nice to sit out there in the morning once the kids are gone to school and enjoy a cup of coffee before we start our day.
As for "wet testing" do not buy from a dealer who will not let you have one. This is VITAL. Much like a car, you would not buy one before you test drive it, why would you lay out the money on something like a hot tub without making sure the jets etc are easily adjusted to you personal comfort.
We've had ours for over a year now, and I do not know what I would do with out it. Feel free to PM me if you need more info.

Holland America. This will be our second cruise with them since I went Gluten Free. They are more than understanding and the staff were very helpful. I was brought the dinner menu at least 24 hours in advance so I could make my selections for the following evening. If we ate at the other cafes etc, we just told them, and my bread/noodles were brought up to that table rather than to the main dinning room.
I did not get sick once. All gluten-free meals were available in the main dinning room, and they had gluten-free bread on the breakfast buffet and sandwich bar so I could go there at lunch as well. I only had to fill out a request form ahead of time. The allow me to choose enough bread/pasta/brownies/etc for the duration of the cruise and they had more than enough. There is a small charge if you go over the allowed numbers, but it is minimal.
If you want to know more, feel free to PM me and I will be happy to chat with you.

DW and I are heading out on our winter getaway, and have 2 days in Ft. Lauderdale before we head out to sea. We are staying on Seabreeze Blvd and I am wondering if anyone here can tell me if there are any good places to eat near by. I know there is a PF Changs a short way away, but am wondering about other places in the area.
We will not have a car, so will be relying on taxis/water taxi/bus to get around. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I too am in the military. I was dx'd after i was in, and after much searching, it turns otu I can stay. There may be a small restriction on where I can get posted, but that's about it.
I agree about medical standards to join and to stay, but rules are rules. Does it suck, yes. Is it fair, I suppose that depends on which side of the ruling you fall on. But I've seen people released for less.

Hi, Ryan!
Was thinking of you when I remembered the big Labour Day match-up tomorrow between the Roughriders and the Blue Bombers. Is it in Regina or Winnipeg?
Emily,
The Labour Day Classic is always in Regina (GO RIDERS!!) We are not going to the game, but may go into the city today to get some shopping done. It'll be easy since everyone else in Regina will be watching football.
Amanda, The house looks awesome. Good luck in the search.
Well, off to make some pancakes. Now that DW is home on sundays, we get back to the tradition of having pancakes and bacon for breakfast on Sundays. (MY fav)

Wow, A rare break in my new crazy schedule to post on the boards.
Weather today is nice, but should turn to rain before supper.
At least I can get some school work done before all heck breaks lose this week at work.
Hope everything is well here in psillyville. I miss you all and will check in more often now.
At least I did not pick VAIN on the fart list.

Next time I try to wade through 80 some pages of this thread, someone slap me please.
That's what I get for going on vacation.
Just checking in on my way to more university stuff. Hope all is well here in psillietown.

RYAN! Home-brewed, gluten-free beer??! And it's inexpensive? man, what we would give.....Here in Ottawa our only choice is La Messagere, brewed in Quebec. Tastes rather like dishwater, and it is $17.50 for a six-pack. Yes, a SIX-pack!!
Emily,
It's not really a home brew. Fort Garry Breweries is the name of the company, and the beer is called Nu Bru! (Hey...it even works with psillie pspelling
) Apparently it's only slightly less expensive than La Messagere, but to buy a 6 pack has to be cheaper than buying them from the hotel bar.
Well, more courses this morning on how to make my small military museum a little better.
Have a good day psillies.
Amanda, enjoy the wedding...

*Peers from behind the land of no forum* Is this thing on? Testing...1.2.3.
Wow...I missed this place.
Good to see a tonne of good news these days after our brief bout with psillie withdrawl.
Just checking in from the fair city of Winnipeg to let you all know things are good for me as well. I am going out to buy some locally made gluten-free beer tomorrow night. It's amazing.
They have some in the hotel bar where I am staying, and I can only assume it would be less expensive else where.
*yawn* but now I must get some sleep.

Ryan, I've been long dreaming of a Pcanadian Psilly Psummit...you, me, PeOter, Alex - -oh, and Bevel.....she truly must be an honourary Canadian.... . .where would the geographic centre of our meeting place be? We're all southern Ontario, you are southern Saskatchewan. Southern Manitoba, perhaps? Winnipeg or Brandon?
Good for you, back at university! I dream of doing this, actually....but the years tick by....what are you studying?
I will actually be in Winndypeg next week.
I am studying Aeronautical Science, and I can finish my Bachelor's degree and most of my Masters should I desire all online. Makes it easy to be home with the family that way as well. Currently enrolled in an English Composition course, and a Computer Science course. Both seem like they will be harder than I thought. Oh well.
Back to the books.

I am expecting to move to Cape Cod in the very near future, and am wondering of any one out there can recommend a good store, bakery, restaurants etc?
This will be a huge adventure, and anything we can have in place before hand would be a HUGE load off my mind.
Thanks all.
