  1. Thank you for the information. That has been my thoughts, to see how things go. I guess if it comes down to a problem at school he will just bring his lunch all the time. Probably the best thing to do anyways. At this point we need to try something. I am sure I will be looking for more advice in the future. Thanks again!!
  2. My 4 year old son had tests done last year and his results were as follows: IGG Gliadin AB was 21.2 the IGA Gliadin ab was 36.9. He was then sent for an endoscopy (3months later and less gluten. The endoscopy was negative. Now a year later and still having problems, just got his results and this time they are 1.4 and 1.0 definitely lower but now I do not know what to do. Should I just take him off gluten. How does that work when it is time to go to school? He ends up with blood in stool/on paper, sometimes scared to go, very hyper at times, dark under eyes, legs ache, etc. I guess I am just looking for some advice.
  3. I have a 4 year old son who back in the spring of 2006 had a blood test for celiac. That came back positive. We then had to wait over 3 months for endoscopy. In that 3 months we cut back on gluten. His endoscopy came back negative. They also tested him for cystic fibrosis at that time. Over the last year he still has diarhea and now he is constipated according to Ped. I took him in a few weeks ago as he was having blood in stool. He then put him on a laxative and a stool softner. Let me tell you there is no happy medium. If I cut down on lax. or sofner he has a tough time. Then the other night his stool was black. (i am frustrated) I have called his Ped about 4 times as I have not heard anything from his labs. I don't want to cut back on what he eats if they want to do the other tests again. I just want to know what is wrong. We have also noticed his teeth are bad, tends to cranky, dark circles under eyes, pale, sometimes complains of aching legs. Do any of these sound like symptoms of celiac?
  4. Thank you for the information. We have a month yet to wait to go to the Dr. I hate the fact that it takes so long. I have cut back on what he gets but did not want to eliminate completely. I just noticed the other night we were at friends and he ate a late snack which was a cereal bar and trail mix. That night he cried and was so restless all night. We now know that cutting back is the best thing. We have been doctoring since December and it took my pushing to get the Pediatrician to check for celiacs. They just kept telling me he drank to much juice. I did not believe them and I am glad I insisted on more tests. Though I hate to put him through all of the tests at least now we know something. I just feel so bad for him.
  5. My 2 1/2 year old son was just recently diagnosed with Celiacs by a blood test. We are still waiting to see the specialist so have not changed his diet. He tends to cry and move around alot at night usually it is around the same time every night. Has anyone ever noticed this? He ate a snack around 8pm that had gluten.
