  1. Hi, i'm a 29 y/o male and basically to try and keep it as short as possible. For the last, i'd say 3-1/2 years i've had strange symptoms that don't fit to any definite diagnosis. I've had MRI'S, X-rays, EMG's, all the blood works done plus countless visits to neurologists and still I have no diagnosis and they're scratching their heads. It's been a nightmare stuck in limbo. I will list a few of my symptoms as i'm just wondering if anyone else can relate. I just want to say autoimmune runs in my family. Both my first cousin and aunt have Crohn's disease. It all started with severe burning in my right foot, then it spread to my left almost immediately and them started progressing upwards. When it got to my calfs, it started in my hands, only it's itching instead of burning. The burning an itching is still present, but for the last 2 years, my muscles (where the burning is) have been twitching and i've lost muscle mass, mostly in my feet, calves and hands, and shoulders, but it's progressing. I've had all the tests I can think of for ALS, MS, etc... I have a lot of sensory issues that have spread through my body, but no numbness, as well as ocular migraines which I get from time to time and a jagged line across my sight appears and then my vision goes in one eye. I suffer with depression and anxiety and all seems to have been triggered around the same time it's all started. Also I have noticed a mass of fruits I all of a sudden can't eat due to sensitivities that I never used to have. So i'll just bullet point symptoms, and I would really be appreciative if someone could give me their opinion or if someone has similar symptoms. Thank you in advance all :) *muscle wasting *muscle twitching/fasciculation's *chronic fatigue *unsteady walking & off balance *unable to empty bladder fully *constipation *itching *brain fog *irritability *ocular migraines *depression & anxiety *sudden food allergies *restless legs
  2. Hey guys. So I was newly diagnosed with Celiac last month and was recommended to this site by my doctor for your helpful guidance to those struggling with this diagnosis. I just had some questions about some concerning symptoms that I have been having that will not go away. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a 23 year old very active male. I have been gluten free for over a month now eating a very strict diet. I have had extremely fatigued muscles with shaking in the hands. Its noticeable anytime I try to do something that involves fine motor skills. Also I have been very exhausted with extreme hunger cravings, especially sugary item (Despite eating a high protein, veggie diet and eating more frequently than I have in the past). The shaking concerns me and I had my resting glucose levels and resting thyroid levels tested with negative results. I am at a loss at what is causing this and it is pretty scary at times. Anyone have similar symptoms that won't subside or have any idea of what is causing it? I also had my B vitamin levels checked along with calcium and they both came back normal. The shakiness is visible slightly and was brushed off by my physician. I just want to feel at least half way normal again as my social life and schoolwork have taken major hits due to feeling sickly.
  3. Did anyone else "lose all muscle tone." over a short period of time? I did this about 8 years back. Nutrients seemed to help overcome this, but I didn't know about my gluten problem. Currently I am feeling firm, tight muscles. At other times my limbs feel squishy. I don't know how one can "Lose all muscle tone" and still be walking around, but that is what I did.
  4. Hi everyone! I'm new here and I'm trying to figure out this whole gluten sensitivity thing. I was diagnosed with IBS by my GI doctor. I was negative on the celiac and wheat allergy, however, I had put myself on a gluten free diet 2 weeks before tests were done which I hear will cause the tests to be negative. I just couldn't bring myself to eat any gluten for the tests because I had been so sick! The reason for the gluten free diet is because I have 3 sisters and one aunt with confirmed celiac and I thought maybe that was the problem....you know, grasping for straws. I have suffered since I was a child with stomach issues. I was adopted so my family history was a puzzle to me until recently. I now have been gluten free for 7 months and my stomach is so much better! Before my gluten-free diet had begun, my joints had been painful and my right pinky finger (weird place for this to happen) was getting very inflamed and twisted looking. Two weeks after going gluten-free the pinky finger stopped hurting and the inflamation started to get less and less. So at that point my stomach was doing great, my joint pain was going away....wow, I'm well! NOT!!! Now for the past 4 months I have been having stinging, shooting, creepy crawly feeling pain in my muscles mostly in my upper body and some even in my scalp. Some of the pain feels like I'm being stabbed with pins. I've even been to the hospital with it and I think the doctors have written me off as a lunatic. I really don't have the time or energy to be a lunatic!.... This is real pain. I just think this is strange to have pain like this after I've gone gluten-free. Someone said maybe I was detoxing. Is this common? If so, how long does it last? Or is it something else? I just want to get well. I'm so tired of the pain and not knowing what this is. I also have to worry about my grandson. He has the same problems as I do and he put himself on the diet. Very mature, I think, for an 11 year old to make that kind of decision! I just want to know as much as possible so we both can benefit. Help? Advice? Thanks!
