  1. My wife has Celiac and we stayed at the Hilton in Cancun. They were able to provide her gluten free meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and even made gluten free bread for her every day. The staff was very knowledgeable and went out of their way to be helpful. We found it to be an excellent hotel at very low prices, and are thinking about going back...
  2. A few other things I forgot to mention... Make sure your doctor runs all the necessary blood tests to ensure that your nutrition levels are normal. Make sure to take gluten-free prenatal vitamins. A number of companies make them. I personally really like the GNC ones. They are labeled gluten-free. Lastly, I would strongly urge you to see a nutrition...
  3. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm sure that's an exciting and scary time. I will join the other people in saying that whatever you do, do not go back to eating gluten while you're pregnant. Before going on a gluten-free diet 10 months ago, white bread was my most favorite food, better than any chocolate dessert. I'm still in the process of discovering...
  4. Hi, Thanks for your suggestions. What is polyclinica that you're referring to in Rome? Also, if you can think of the restaurant names in Naples that you liked, it will be most appreciated. Regarding unpasteurized products, being pregnant, I don't think I have a choice but try to avoid them at all costs, as that is the general consensus amongst American...
  5. Elizabeth, thank you very much for your suggestions. I'm looking forward to the trip. I'm 6 weeks along now and don't have morning sickness. So I'm really hoping it will stay this way. My best friend was about 6 weeks pregnant this time last year when she and her husband traveled in Spain. She had horrible morning sickness and says that Madrid for her...
  6. Hi, I am 29 years old and very early into my pregnancy. My husband and I will be traveling through Italy in the second half of May, and I was wondering if you anyone has any suggestions with regard to gluten-free restaurants in Venice, Florence, Rome and Naples, and also being pregnant in Italy. It's all new to me. What should I stay away from? Are...
  7. I called them 2 weeks ago and was told that all their Frappuccino bottled drinks are gluten free. I have since then tried Coffee and Vanilla flavors with no problem. And I am extremely sensitive to even trace amounts of gluten.
  8. Hi, I was diagnosed with celiac disease 7 weeks ago and have been gluten-free since then. My husband and I are planning to start trying to get pregnant some time soon, and I am now looking for gluten-free prenatal vitamins. I read on this forum that Nature Made Prenatals are gluten-free. However, I just went on their website and saw 'Modified Food Starch...
  9. Ahava products are all gluten-free. That's what I was told by a company rep. I don't know if they have soy and peanut ingredients in it, but i doubt it as they tend to use natural Dead Sea minerals. I'm a big fan of their products. You can check out their website www.ahavaus.com
  10. I recently bought Glutino plain bagels at Whole Foods and found them absolutely amazing. I was diagnosed less than two months ago, so I certainly remember what real bagels taste like. These actually look like real bagels. I liked them so much that I ate them plain without putting anything on them.
