  1. Here is another tip. Rinsing with Mylanta. My friend of mine would mix Mylanta and benadryl and swish it around. I know if I have had something with gluten, because the mouth sores would appear.
  2. When I was 18 back in 1985, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I had 6 laps, one baby (1991), and a total hyst (1999). Sometimes I feel that if I had know about the celiac, which was not diagnosed until after the hyst, I would have been better off. It took about three years to get pregnant and I am greatful that I was able to. sometimes I felt like it was never going to happen. Finally, after some relaxation, I was pregnant. I was so stressed out from the Lupron and Depo and anything I could try to get rid of the endo to get pregnant. the Lupron was the last thing I tried and I waited about six months. After some tender loving care and relaxation it happend. In 1999 I had a total hyst. and in my opinion, it was the best thing for me at the time. I always though that there was some correlation between the endo and the celiac.
  3. I didnt think there was anyone out there that felt the same way that I do. Just like you this started with me when I was a child. I am going to be getting married in July and I am mortified at the thought that my husband is going to hear me in the bathroom. He is not shy about anything that has to do with bodily sounds and often jokes about himself. I just cant imagine being so at ease about it. I have put off my wedding for two years because of this. I am literally mortified about this. I know that I was made fun of as a child, teenager, and now as an adult about what happens in the bathroom. I guess that is why I am so scared by it . But the wedding is going to happen and I am going to have to deal with it some how. Turning on the shower and the fan does not do that much, as I can hear my fiance even with the shower and fan on when he is in there. Since I suffer with "D", I cant hold it. Oh and the gas, geez, maybe the invites has not gone out yet, LOL!! Your not alone out there. Dori
  4. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions. It is so hard when first you are told no gluten and adjusting your diet to that, then told to cut back on meat, then told no more dairy, now I have to limit my sugar. I feel like I am down to fish, chicken, and veggies, oh and nuts. I checked out the ADA and there were lots of good suggestions. Thanks again everyone for all your help. It is so comforting to know you all are out there!!!!!
  5. Hi everyone, I had a dr appt today for a physical. Dr. told me that my cholestorol was 201, and that I was borderline diabetic that result was 110. I have been gluten free since 1999 and I still do not feel that good. I still have problems with the big D, not as much as before, but its still there. I still have problems with gas, that has not changed. I do not take in any dairy at all. I start a new job next week. what do I take for snacks. I cant have any sweets anymore. I am so, so, so sad. There was a little bit of good news. My osteoporosis is improving. I have gone from 97lb to 122lb. Let me all know what you think.
  6. I almost forgot about CC!!!! I asked the baker, he stated since it would be a small cake he would be willing to use new baking sheets for the cake. Now, I'll have to look for a baker in Ft Lauderdale. More than likely I will make my own small cake. I love the idea of having smaller cakes at the table, that would be perfect!!!! I would call all the bakers in Tampa and see who is willing to help you out. You will be surprised how many people are willing to help accomadate you.
  7. Congrats....I am also planning my wedding. Flying to Florida for it. I am planning on making my own cake and having a friend of mine decorate it. There will be another wedding cake for the other guests. I have been trying different cake mixes to see which one works better. The baker where I live was willing to bake a cake for me with gluten free ingredients. But it was really expensive to do a whole cake, so he suggested a smaller cake for me and a regular cake for the others. But now that we are going to Florida, I'll either have my friend look for a baker willing to use my flour or make it my self.
  8. Thanks so much for the replies, it means so much to me. This site is great. Reading all the other questions and answers from all of you have helped me so much. I have definately learned that we have to be our own advocates with our health and our lives. No one else can understand unless they are going through the same road. Thanks everyone.
  9. Hi everyone, How do you all do it to live a normal life? I am having a hard time keeping a job because I am always "sick". The big "D" has gotten in the way so much, my self esteem has gone down the drain. It seems I cant eat anything but fruits, veggies, and fish. No meat, high cholest., no dairy, lactose, no soy, intolerant, and obviously no gluten. I am so sick and tired of being dizzy, tired, and anxious. I have gain weight, which is good, but I still feel yucky!!!! I was diag. in 1999 and have been gluten free since then. thanks for letting me vent.
  10. I am new to this site, and I have been reading lots and have rec. lots of great info. I was reading up on the osteo. Has anyone here ever taken Miacalcin nasal spray (calcitonin-salmon) for thier osteo? I also have been told my parathyroid levels were off. I was diag. with ceilac sprue in 1999 and have been gluten free since then. I am still having problems though, my stomach is still distended and have a lymph node behind the stomach that is swollen, what ever that means. Anyway thanks for all the info. I didnt know about this site until last month.
  11. I once bought 2 boxes of cereal, one gluten free and one wheat, same brand. Ate a full bowl of...you guessed it, the wheat cereal. Talk about panic...sick for weeks. DoriG
