  1. Thank you - I'm encouraged by your story mostly because it sounds so similar to mine. When I heard "gastritis" my brain (although fuzzy from the sedation) went "aha, inflammation!" and connected that with celiac while my doctor connected it with stress. I hate to say bad things about my doc as he is the first person to ever take me seriously and not just...
  2. The "it's a female thing" is my FAVORITE. I love how every doc I've been to and told about my symptoms have asked me if was sure I wasn't pregnant, then insisted on a pregnancy test. The last time that came up, I asked the man if he'd like to see my tampon (I was on my period at the time which explains the offer AND why I was so testy... ) Then of course...
  3. After all the mess with my bloodwork (which was found to be "inconclusive" by one doctor and "normal" by another), I was referred to a GI specialist and we have been working together since then. After looking at my blood panel information and discussing my symptoms with me, he suggested a gastic emptying study to see how my stomach was processing food.....
  4. I called this morning to get the results of my blood test and after getting the run around and being transferred every which way for almost 2 hours, I finally got a call back... They said my test was "negative." I asked for more details, asked specifically what was run and what the exact results were but was just told that it indicated a negative result...
  5. Yeah, I'm going to give him a ring tomorrow to at least check the status of things. Basically all of this testing is just to make things official before I go on the diet - I'm still going to do it anyway to see if it helps, especially after reading about all the people here who tested negative and then improved on it! Thanks
  6. Hello All - I had my panel run more than a week ago and still haven't heard anything back. My doctor had said that since the lab had to send the test out, it would take a while longer than in house tests and that he thought it'd be about a week. I also allowed some extra time for post-holiday backup (I had it right after new years) but I'm getting...
  7. Thank you for the warm welcome and the links! Already, they are helping to ease my anxiety about going gluten free. I feel fortunate to have found this place, especially because I already have a stockpile of recipes I am dying to try! I am also fortunate to have some support during this transition - my mother is constantly researching and sending me...
  8. Hello everyone - my name is Phedre and I'm new here. I'm currently awaiting test results to find out if I have Celiac, though from everything I've researched, I'm 99% certain that I am. Our family has always had stomach issues - my grandmother has them, my father has them, and my sister as well and all of us with very similar symptoms. For the longest...
