  1. Hey all. Well, I had an accident where I ate gluten last Sunday. Now it's over a week later, and I still have that old burning sensation in my upper abdomen - just like before. I have been totally gluten-free. Since I got the call from my gastro telling me that I had this, I went off gluten, except for my mistake last week.... I was looking...
  2. THANK YOU for all of your stories and support. I am hoping that they find a cure for us - not so that we can go crazy and eat whatever we want, but at least it can lessen the fear and dread of eating something bad by accident.
  3. Thanks, to both of you for your responses. I've been so good about not making mistakes - I just can't believe I did this.. I did it to myself! I threw the cookies away. They were horrible, that's when I took a second look at the box because I was talking outloud, saying how crappy gluten free stuff is... then I saw what it said on the box. Made with...
  4. I am so mad at myself, I actually started to cry. I made these cookies that I thought were gluten free. They weren't They were organic. Yep, they had wheat in them....I ate one half of a bite of one, they were terrible anyway. Then I read the box again. How could I have been so careless? I have NOT made one mistake in 3 months - and I have...
  5. Whoa. This strikes a chord with me, too. I went to a primary care in March - was told to take Prilosec - then I went to a Neurologist - because I couldn't take the sleep disorders and internal tremors anymore. he told me I was anxious.... So, I picked up the phone and called a gastro doc. At first, the doc I wanted to see was booked for months, and...
  6. Hi Krystle Welcome. I'm new, too. I was diagnosed Oct 2.. About the crying, don't feel badly. I woke up a couple of times and felt that same way first thing in the morning.. This forum is great, though. The people are so helpful and it's just a great community. You know, soon you'll get to a place where you'll see that there are many healthy...
  7. Yes! You're so right about that! It is very empowering to know that we can do the right things and change the way we feel.. I had my biopsy yesterday, and it went easy - but I still have pains, in spite of being gluten free for almost one month. My gastro told me that she thinks it will take more time for me to feel better. She thinks I should not feel...
  8. Great to hear that the damage can be reversed! thank you... glad your mom is well.
  9. Thanks - it's good to know that you're better and so is your mom! I am hoping to recover from the damages I may have inside. I will find out more after the biopsy tomorrow... Take care and thanks again... Viv oops. I meant your friends' mom! Sorry for the error... Great to hear the good news that someone a little older can mend.. it gives me hope...
  10. Richard, I am glad to read that you're better. Wow, that must have been an ordeal. Thanks for your response.
  11. Amber, Thanks for your response.. I think maybe I got so many responses from so many people because of my age concern. I put that in the subject line on purpose - because it's the truth and I wanted to hear from some of the people who were older like myself and maybe a little worse off - and see how they recovered. I'm sorry about your suffering....
  12. Thanks, everyone for the responses. It's good to know that a person who has been suffering for so long can eventually feel better - all by staying on a diet! I don't think that the food is bad at all. I just feel that I am damaged inside, and somehow, it seems to be WORSE since I went gluten free... But I also got upset for a few days, and I think it hurt...
  13. Thank you all for your responses.. I am just in the early stages of all of this.. am very grateful to have learned that I have this. Honestly! I did shed a few tears on the second day when it really sunk in how serious this is.. And then I started to feel a sense of enpowerment - because I know that I was the only one who seemed to take these symptoms...
  14. Hi.. Nice to meet you all. I am not doing so well right now. I was diagnosed via blood test after going to a gastro for upper abdominal pain. Nothing else was bugging me, except for the pain that would come and go... I was sure that I had an ulcer... I had felt this pain off and on in my life - I remember once when I was about 18 - and then it happened...
